This bright and airy vacation rental sits on a quiet street just a short walk to the beach off the renowned Alii drive. Catch the beautiful colors of our Hawaiian sunsets,enjoy the sounds of swaying palm trees, tropical birds, and never-ending comfort and serenity while you stay here.

The space

There is much to explore and enjoy: Shops, markets, restaurants, beaches, golf, and attractions are all very close by.
There is a Public Trolley bus which can be caught 4 blocks away from vacation rental that goes to these places for $2.00 each way.

Other things to note

Kahaluu Beach Park is the closest snorkeling beach in Kona, 9 minute drive south from vacation rental. 2.5 miles.
Honaunau Bay, 35 minutes south on highway 19 to "Two step" one of the best snorkeling places in Hawaii.
White Sands Beach all so known as Kona Magic Sands. Excellent boogie boarding and body surf beach. Great for relaxing on the white sand beach. 5 minutes from vacation rental.
Turtle beach is 4 blocks, 3 minutes from vacation rental. Beach access from Alii drive. Look for signs.
Kailua Kona town is 6 minutes north. 1.3 miles from vacation rental.
Keauhou Shopping Center which has grocery store KTA, drug store, post office, restaurants, movie theater, farmers market (Saturday mornings). 6 minutes 1.3 miles south by highway 19 or 10 minutes on Alii drive.

Great basic accommodations. Not far from the beach and from Kailua Kona. Kitchen is bare necessities and there is no A/C, but the nights are plenty cool with the fans and the rest of the house is very comfortable. Overall a convenient location and decent house for the price.

Three friends and I stayed at Beth’s place for a week while on a scuba diving trip. We found the house to be comfortable, spacious, and clean. We used the well-stocked kitchen to cook breakfast every morning. There is a large dining room table that we used for meals, but also to go through our underwater photos after diving. There is a large deck in front of the house which has views of the hills. We used this deck to dry our swim suits and small scuba accessories every day. Beth also gave us a drying rack for this purpose which was very helpful. Most of our scuba equipment was rinsed and dried at the dive shop, though Beth did allow us to dry gear under the house when need (scuba gear is not allowed in the house). There is also a deck in the back which is screened, has sitting areas, and a game table. This deck was a bit cooler than the rest of the house. There are ceiling fans in every room, plus three additional fans in the bedrooms. The fans provided adequate cooling for most of the nights we were there. However, on hot days we spent the afternoon and evenings elsewhere (there is no air conditioning). Overall, we were happy with the house and location. Beth was very responsive to our questions and worked with us to accommodate our scuba diving needs.

Beth's place is spacious, clean and has everything for a day at the beach, be it snorkeling, swimming or just soaking up the sun. The shower may seem a bit "funky" but does work well. There are family games, books, TV and internet. We enjoyed both the front deck and screened-in back porch. Finally, Beth is considerate, informative and welcoming!

The house is very comfortable and well located. It is a 5-minute drive away from Magic Sands Beach, which is a great place for boogie boarding. We walked down to the water from the house a couple of times and that only took 8-10 min. The house is also close to downtown Kona and Ali'i Gardens Marketplace. Beth is very friendly and even though her apartment is attached to the house, she was very discreet and totally respected our privacy. There were five of us staying in the house and we had everything we needed: lots of towels, a well-equipped though slightly dated kitchen, and even boogie boards, coolers, ice packs, and snorkeling equipment. There was also enough hot water for each of us to shower at the end of each day and wash dishes after dinner. We very much enjoyed spending time on the back porch early in the morning and in the evening. It's a beautiful, comfortable and peaceful space. However, by 10 am the house got too hot for us to stay in. Most of the fans do a pretty good job of keeping the house cool at night, except for the room with the two twin beds, which got too hot to sleep there after 7 am. Our son ended up sleeping in the living room, which stayed cooler longer. It's too bad the air conditioners are disabled in the bedrooms. The neighborhood is pleasant and very quiet at night, even though the houses are quite close to each other. However, the next-door neighbor was doing some housework (drilling/sawing) almost daily starting at 7:30 am. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and recommend Beth's house.

A nice spacious three bed in a quiet suburban part of Kona. Clean with lots of room - the photos are accurate. Kona is a great little town and a good spot to explore the island from.

Beth is very friendly and is very quick to respond to messages. Family loved the place. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids and found it very comfortable/spacious. Walkable to the beach and a park. Will stay again
