  • We had some trouble getting to Portland, but once we did, John had left a note for us to call him. He left keys for us and gave me a phone tour of the house. Our basement room was clean and spacious, but I would have preferred a room with windows and fresh air for the cost. John seems like a gracious host. His backyard is lovely and is located in the great SE neighborhood of PDX.

  • John's house is in a lovely neighborhood. His space is comfortable and private. He is a warm and efficient host.

  • Stayed in the basement room, wow, super conductive to sleeping, dark and very quiet. Close to Mount Tabor park which is great for hill running. While a bit "off the path" still easy to reach lots of the SE neighborhoods especially along Division and Powell. Bathroom is clean and very private.

  • John was a very nice host and was very welcoming to his home. The room we stayed in was in the basement and it was very quiet.

  • Lovely neighborhood, a bit off the beaten path but certainly walking distance to a number of great bars and shops. We enjoyed having outdoor dinners on the patio in gorgeous weather. John was very accommodating and helpful.

  • Great accommodation in a nice neighborhood of Portland. John was friendly and easy to communicate with upon our arrival and I felt like I had everything I needed for a great stay. I would recommend this host.

  • John is an amazing person. It was a very pleasant surprise I could stay at his house. The bed is very comfortable and the atmosphere made me feel in my own home. Clean and organized. Access to the wifi network quality and district where it is very quiet. I recommend it with praise.

  • The host is a really fine person, but the experience differed greatly from what we were led to expect by both the description and photos. It's a very dark bedroom and studio room in a cluttered basement. The comfort, privacy and noise levels are more akin to a hostel situation.
