I will definitely want to stay at this lovely cabin again, when I visit Grand Lake with my family. It's a compact and cozy cabin that has all that a family will ever need. My 2.5 year old daughter loved hanging at the play house in the backyard and operating the old-fashioned cloth-wringer. The lake was lovely and with the boats there was something nice to do with the National Park being closed. We saw and heard many elks on the road to the cabin at dusk time. Lovely little joyful place!!!
Judy and Wendell are fantastic. They welcomed our family of four, including two under the age of four, with hugs and made us feel at home. Judy even played with our three-year-old out by the playhouse and sat on the dock with him for 20 minutes one morning, looking at ducks and clouds. We really enjoyed our time with them and can't recommend them strongly enough. The four beds upstairs provide a good deal of room and our older boy loved the toys and pool table. We just wish we'd had more time to explore on the boats.
The previous reviews were true, Judy and Wendell are total sweethearts. They were immediately like grandparents with our 2 year old son. Their cabin is rustic and cozy. The room had low, slanted ceilings but the beds were clean and comfy. They went above and beyond the expectations set by Airbnb...Wendell made us waffles for breakfast and Judy wrote detailed maps for us and drove us into town to help us find our destinations. Enjoy your stay with these lovely folks!
Judy and Wendell are awesome! They were basically our temporary grandparents for the weekend, and I mean that in the best way. They are very kind, very generous, and love people. And the place is exactly as described. Oh, and we saw moose and elk near their house! Highly recommended, especially for extroverts.
Absolutely loved this short yet sweet experience. Amazing location. It was difficult for my boyfriend and I to leave not only the cottage but Judy and Wendell as well. We really enjoyed spending time with them and swapping stories. We will definitely be returning in the near future :)
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying with Judy & Wendell. Their cabin was exactly as we pictured it, in such a beautiful spot. The two of them made us feel so welcome, we felt right at home upon entering even though we got to the cabin before they did that evening. (Judy let us know that would be the case, told us to help ourselves to anything we needed) What a peaceful night we had, wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for hosting us, we hope to be back someday!
Great little get away, a few minutes out of town but feels worlds away and so beautiful
The kids were very happy to eat some homemade waffles and spend some time on the canoe looking at fish, ducks, geese and moose!
What a treat
Staying with Judy and Wendell was amazing. It felt more like staying with a relative than a stranger found on the internet. Their hospitality was unparalleled. We will definitely be returning to their home in the future.
Judy and Wendell have a wonderful house near Grand Lake that is absolutely packed with wildlife. In one canoe trip on their lake, we saw two moose, one bald eagle, and a few ducks! There is also so much to do around their property - horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding, short and long hikes, golfing, water-skiing, etc. It's a great mountain getaway and the Whites are gracious hosts!
Great place to stay and great, amiable hosts! Thanks for a fun, memorable vacation!
