Both Judy and Wendell were the perfect hosts. Their cabin is located on a very private road on a beautiful lake. We were told we could use their canoe or paddle boat if we wished. The large sleeping room had 3 queen size beds that were very comfortable. The only inconvenience is there is only one bathroom in the cabin and it is located down stairs from the bedroom. We were treated to a fabulous breakfast that was cooked by Wendell. He made us homemade waffles, fresh strawberries, orange juice and hot chocolate!! What a treat! Judy and Wendell were so very friendly and made us feel at home. This was our first experience with Airbnb and if all the hosts are as gracious as Judy and Wendell we will be thrilled. They will however, be a hard act to follow. Hope to return some day.
We stayed on Sept 21, 2014. The stay at Judy and Wendell's home was wonderful. They response was very quick and they provided clear directions to reach the place. They both greeted us and gave a warm welcome. Our room was on the upstairs and it was pretty good and clean. Each and everything there (even tiny things) were artistic and unique. Very comfortable bed and the pillows which we can choose. The house is beside a small and beautiful lake. When we stepped out for a photo walk in the morning, we went near the lake. OMG, it was stunned with the beauty of the lake with the fall colors behind. It was gorgeous. The lake and the area was full of aspens and we were there on the right time (Judy helped us with that). The photo walk near and around the lake was amazing. The offered us breakfast (Surprise) and their hospitality was too good. We felt at home. I admired everything single item's art. Overall it was wonderful stay with Judy and Wendell.
Wendell and Judy were the best! My friend and I stayed for a couple nights and thoroughly enjoyed the home AND the company! The beds were comfy, the scenery was beautiful and quiet, and Wendell made some lovely French Toast and waffles for us every morning. They told us to call us their "grandparents" and they certainly treated us like family. We hope they will come to visit us in NYC sometime! You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay with them!!
We felt welcome and at home. The house was very nice and our beds were comfortable. There was lots of stuff for the kids to do--swings, playhouse, toys, and boats. The lake was beautiful. Wendell made us waffles in the morning, and they were great. Spotting a moose on our morning walk around the lake was definitely a bonus. We really enjoyed our stay.
Great night. Super breakfast. VERY hospitable. Inspirational hosting by Wendell!
We weren't able to meet Judy in person as she was out of town, but she was very responsive via phone and through the site. Wendell met us at the home and got us all squared away. He exuded warmth and made us feel comfortable and at home. The bedroom is by itself upstairs. It doesn't have a door, but rather a curtain that slides across the opening. The breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day, and we even got a little crazy and had ice cream with our waffles (a birthday celebration!). When he heard we were looking to see a moose, he even took us on a local car ride where moose have been seen in the area. Unfortunately, we didn't see one but it was great that he took time to take us around a bit. Overall a very good experience. We only stayed one night so I can't comment on the paddle-boat or canoe, but the location itself is great. We slept with the window open and listened to the elk bugle at night.
