What a beautiful house! We had plenty of space and thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the incredible views. The morning sun was extremely bright in our bedroom but when I wore my sun shades, I was just fine. One can never complain about too much sun! We spent time in Ithaca for a family wedding (and Susan was quite right that Richford isn't much of a town but the proximity to Ithaca was good). We didn't try Susan's maple syrup this time....maybe next time!
What a wonderful home! We had a great experience working with Susan and the house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The plush towels and thick sheets did not go unnoticed. We hope to return! Only issue we had was lack of cell service by I might have missed that note beforehand.
Susan's house as pictured -- or even nicer. Located at the end of a tree-lined driveway it is very secluded. We spent our early mornings having coffee on the deck and returned to the deck to grill local veggies for dinner. Our three days were wonderful and relaxing and a great break from NYC. Highly recommended.
We LOVED this house, it's location is wonderful, truly full on nature - which is what we were looking for. We had a wonderful time walking the trails. Ithaca is merely 30 minutes away, and driving around the area was wonderful. Susan was vey helpful and accommodating and the house itself is super clean and has everything you might need or want. We're already planning another visit!
(Also - the two adorable outdoor cats were a huge plus for us)
Host was great. Stayed completely out of the way. Place was FANTASTIC. When we arrived, there was no wind, which meant we were greeted with near perfect silence. And some friendly cats.
The deck is something to behold. It runs the whole length of the house. We spent a great deal of time just hanging out, reading and eating out there.
The grounds were also nice, with plenty of places to go for a walk in the woods. And we were only 20-30 minutes outside downtown Ithaca, so going out to eat or shopping was really easy.
All in all, a great long weekend and well worth it.
This secluded home was WONDERFUL and exactly as described. Susan was very generous and kind throughout the entire experience. Susan reached out a few days prior to make sure we were comfortable. Directions were clear as were the arrangements. Once arriving at her home, cookies were waiting for us, a note left, brochures of activities around the area, and everything was very clean. The home is lovely with a great deck, birds, and SILENCE. We'd certaintly consider staying again and can't say enough how nice Susan and her home were to stay in.
Susan's place was just great! My family and I had a wonderful time there and had plenty of space to both feel accommodated, while not feeling cramped. Her balcony was a daily treat for birdwatching and relaxing and her home in total was a very cozy (but spacious) place where we really felt able to just relax and be away from the bustle of NYC. Its very private and very well-supplied with everything that we needed. We highly recommend it for those that want an escape/retreat from it all.

About the Host, Susan
A professional woman who loves living in the country but also craves the culture of the Ithaca / Cornell area. I have no children, so the house is not child proof. I have no pets, but two lovely, friendly cats live outdoors and bed down in my garage. I would like folks to respect and care for my home as I would care for theirs.
I grew up in Queens and on LI but I am at home here. I wish I had some home-made maple syrup to share with you, but it's all gone from last year. Next year...
