The Space

Dear airbnb user,
I am offering here one a big cosy room in a three rooms apartment in Hamburg-(email hidden) wide bed in solid wood, a closet and a divan. A working space can be arranged when needed.

The rest of the apartment: a functional bathroom, kitchen and a living room will be shared with me when I am there. I an a highly educated polyglote fellow well travelled and travelling a lot around the world. Curious and open-minded I will be happy to share a nice conversation around a coffee when time allows and a we feel like it.

The building, from around 1920 but very well maintained, is in a quiet residential area. Yet there is a small shop around the corner. A restaurant and supermarkets can be reached within 5 minutes walking distance. By walking 15 minutes under a sidewalk of trees you will reach either some park and nice walks un the Elbe river or the center of Altona. the latter is full of beautiful shops, bars and restaurants. If you are not a walking person there is a bus stop just at the corner of the building.

The apartment is well communicated by public transportation. S-Bahn station Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. At the corner you will find a bus stop heading to Altona. Lines 1, 150 and 250 will take you there. The bus stop in the other direction is 3 minutes away and the same lines are available. Line 1 will take you to the horse race field Bahrenfeld Trabrennbahn and DESY research center. Line 150 goes to Airbus headquarters.

The quiet room facing the house private garden make you feel you are in the country side while being a walking distance from the distance. The good trasport connection, in particular with DESY and Airbus, will make it the ideal place for a professional stay. I will be happy to give you some advices of places where to go.

  • Manuel's apartment was perfect. The place is big, clean and light and has everything you need. Location was fairly central, Bus station is close to the apartment, so everywhere is convenient to get to. Manuel was very helpful and relaxed. I would definitely recommend the apartment.

  • Nice apartment in a nice quiet area of the city. The room has plenty of space and it was nice to have a large closet to keep things out of the way. A short walk to the Sbahn but the bus comes almost to the front door. Manuel is a great host, very considerate, accommodating and available for a chat.

  • Manuel's place is very nice. It is indeed quiet and also very cozy. Besides, Manuel is a great host!

The very first time I got there, we talked for at least a couple hours, but at the same time, he is a balanced guy that can leave you to your own stuff.

I would say that the description on the page is an exact reflection of reality. I had a good time at Manuel's place, and would definitely stay there again.

  • This was my first stay with an air bnb host, and I thoroughly enjoyed it - Manuel was an excellent host - very welcoming, friendly and interesting to talk to, though I didn't get many opportunities due to spending most of my time at work. The room was spacious and clean, and furnished with some rather unusual blinds, and a large, comfortable bed. Thank you Manuel, your hospitality is greatly appreciated!

  • Manuel was very helpful and accomodating, the room was great.

  • It was such a nice experience to stay in Manuel's place. A room is very clean, quiet and sunny with nice view of the beautiful backyard. Manuel is very gentle and nice. I really enjoyed chatting with him, though we didn't spend time so much together since both were busy for own works. Also, the flat is located just in front of the bus stop, from which you can easily commute to Altona, the place with lots of cozy cafes/restaurants. If you are looking for home-like accommodation in Hamburg, this is the place for you!

  • I'm very thankful for my first experiences with airbnb during my stay at Manuel's place. For eight nights I had a commodious room for myself and everything I needed. All of Manuel's descriptions are true and the nearby streets of Altona are full of cozy coffeehouses, restaurants and shops. The few times we met in the flat, Manuel offered a coffee and an interesting chat. Therefore I was very happy with my visit and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Thanks and kind regards!

Hola airbnb user Here is Manuel, a spanish guy living in Hamburg since 2011 after another 16 years in various European countries: The Netherlands (Enschede), France (Orsay and Paris) and Germany: Regensburg. Although my current base is Hamburg I still travel often all over the world due to my job as a research physicist and my curiosity to discover other cultures and languages. After some years of airbnb user I have decided to also share my flat so you can have a nice place to stay and someone to chat to when time allows and I am at home. Besides my mother tongue (Spanish) I am very fluent in English and French. I can communicate in italian (which I understand very well but I still need to improve) and german ( finally is in my brain). I could once spoke dutch but I am afraid it was 16 years ago when I I did it for the last time :-( . I consider myself openminded, friendly and quiet. I might give you the impression of a cold person at the beginning and on the phone, but this will vanish after we talk for a couple of minutes :-). Looking forward to welcome you in Hamburg or meeting us somewhere else in the world Cheers, Manuel
