Dear airbnb user,
I am offering here one a big cosy room in a three rooms apartment in Hamburg-Ottensen. A 160 cm wide bed in solid wood, a closet and a divan. A working space can be arranged when needed.
The rest of the apartment: a functional bathroom, kitchen and a living room will be shared with me when I am there. I an a highly educated polyglote fellow well travelled and travelling a lot around the world. Curious and open-minded I will be happy to share a nice conversation around a coffee when time allows and a we feel like it.
The building, from around 1920 but very well maintained, is in a quiet residential area. Yet there is a small shop around the corner. A restaurant and supermarkets can be reached within 5 minutes walking distance. By walking 15 minutes under a sidewalk of trees you will reach either some park and nice walks un the Elbe river or the center of Altona. the latter is full of beautiful shops, bars and restaurants. If you are not a walking person there is a bus stop just at the corner of the building.
The apartment is well communicated by public transportation. S-Bahn station Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. At the corner you will find a bus stop heading to Altona. Lines 1, 150 and 250 will take you there. The bus stop in the other direction is 3 minutes away and the same lines are available. Line 1 will take you to the horse race field Bahrenfeld Trabrennbahn and DESY research center. Line 150 goes to Airbus headquarters.
The quiet room facing the house private garden make you feel you are in the country side while being a walking distance from the distance. The good trasport connection, in particular with DESY and Airbus, will make it the ideal place for a professional stay. I will be happy to give you some advices of places where to go.
smoker in the building is forbidden. There is a garden behind where smoker kann be done quietly
Le logement était fidèle à la description. Très bonne expérience dans l'ensemble.
Manuel is a very friendly host. There was a little misunderstanding about the time of arrival, but this was not much of a problem. We hardly met him in the weekend when we stayed in his place.
Nuestra estancia en el apartamento de Manuel fué muy agradable. Manuel es un anfitrión educado, respetuoso y amable. Mantiene todas las estancias de su piso limpias y ordenadas.
The apartment is just amazing! Nicely located: 8 minutes by bus to Altona-Bahnhof, the bus stop is just around the corner. The room is very bright and quiet, and bed is incredibly comfortable. We had a fascinating talk with the host, Marcel, the next morning! Communication, keys transfer was very easy and convinient! Thank you so much for such a friendly stay in Hamburg! Highly recommend this location! Enjoy your stay next time here! :)
Manuel ist als Gastgeber sehr flexibel: Er hat sich sofort auf Ankunftsveränderungen eingestellt! Vertrauensvoll hat er mir sein sauberes schönes Zimmer überlassen und für mich war es perfekt.
Komme gerne wieder.
Hola airbnb user
Here is Manuel, a spanish guy living in Hamburg since 2011 after another 16 years in various European countries: The Netherlands (Enschede), France (Orsay and Paris) and Germany: Regensburg.
Although my current base is Hamburg I still travel often all over the world due to my job as a research physicist and my curiosity to discover other cultures and languages.
After some years of airbnb user I have decided to also share my flat so you can have a nice place to stay and someone to chat to when time allows and I am at home.
Besides my mother tongue (Spanish) I am very fluent in English and French. I can communicate in italian (which I understand very well but I still need to improve) and german ( finally is in my brain). I could once spoke dutch but I am afraid it was 16 years ago when I I did it for the last time :-( .
I consider myself openminded, friendly and quiet. I might give you the impression of a cold person at the beginning and on the phone, but this will vanish after we talk for a couple of minutes :-).
Looking forward to welcome you in Hamburg or meeting us somewhere else in the world
