About this listing
Welcome to our cozy apartment in one of the most fun neighborhoods in Dallas. It is a one bedroom apartment in one of the original houses on the block. The apartment has its own private entrance. We are less than 2 blocks away from the Lower Greenville strip with restaurants, shops, nightlife and great people watching. The apartment is newly designed with everything you will need for a comfortable home away from home.
About The Apartment:
Our home was built in 1926 and keeps its old charm in the addition to modern amenities. There are two living quarters in the main house and one in back. The guest apartment is in the main house.
We renovated the guest apartment in April, 2013. The main room combines living and kitchen space. There is a comfortable sofa in the living room that opens into a spare double bed. The flatscreen TV has cable from Uverse. You have your own wireless internet access. If you don’t want to walk down the street to any of the cool restaurants, you can prepare your own dinner in the compact kitchen which is equipped with an under-the-counter fridge, microwave/convection oven, stovetop and dishes. Wood floors throughout make it easy for us to keep the apartment clean for you. The bathroom has the original claw-foot tub with a pretty fancy shower system attached. The bed in the beautiful bedroom is a new queen sized bed that is so comfortable, you just don’t want to get up!
The house shares cable access and electricity, however the guest apartment has its own private wifi and central heat and air. We could not fit a washer and dryer in the apartment, so we suggest nearby bundle laundry service or laundrymats. We will launder sheets and towels once a week. Parking is on the street in front of the house. We cannot accommodate dogs or cats in the apartment. However we do know of some good doggie hotels in the area.
We work full time, so this is not a hotel or BnB. It is a great place to stay for a short or long visit to Dallas.
About The Neighborhood:
You are going to LOVE IT! Your stay with us puts you in the middle of the best Dallas has to offer for sightseeing, getting around and nightlife. The Dallas Art District is 3 miles away and includes the Dallas Museum of Art (free admission), the Nasher Sculpture Garden and other galleries and parks, the Opera House and the new Museum of Nature and Science. The George W Bush presidential library and museum which just opened in May of 2013 is 2.5 miles away. White Rock Lake Park and the Dallas Arboretum are just over 3 miles to the east of us.
The Lower Greenville area is home to lots of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops; all within walking distance. Walk to Trader Joe’s and the Walmart Neighborhood Food Mart. Whole Foods, Sprouts and Greengrocers are less than a mile away.
You can borrow our 2 bikes to get around the neighborhood. It is great sight-seeing.
And now about your neighbors:
We are a great block in the Greenville Ave neighborhood. It is a great mix of friendly people that are always willing to help. We have lived here for over 18 years and love it. The apartment is on our property so it makes it easy for us to help you get settled in.
If you don't want to walk or bike around, there is public transportation at the end of our block. Take the bus around, or take the bus to the rail system, just up the street. Downtown, the parks, the arts district, and lots of interesting places are easy to get to from here.
No pets, please. We do have a dog on the premises.
Street parking is available during your stay.
In season you are welcome to herbs from the herb garden below your bedroom window.
We will help you enjoy your stay and we will respect your privacy. Please be respectful of your neighbors with regards to noise and reasonable hours. Our place is too small for parties, so please respect that.
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful house. After a cancelled flight from Amsterdam and a very late night arrival, we felt at home right away! Everything is exactly as shown in the pictures, if not nicer! And all previous reviews have already said it all.
We have found our new "home" in Dallas.
If we come back to Dallas - which I am sure we will - we hope to stay at your house again.
Thanks again, all the best,
Maria and Thomas
Everything about my experience at the Lower Greenville Apartment was awesome. Upon arrival Marie, the host made sure i had everything i needed including where to go in the neighborhood for food etc. The place itself was cozy and clean! So much better than a hotel:) I would recommend to all my friends.
I cannot say enough good things about this apartment! It is a gem, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, but within a 2-3 block walking distance of some amazing local restaurants, bars, and stores.
Marie is the consummate hostess and the apartment has been well appointed, with a lot of little extras.
If I ever return to Dallas, I will definitely be looking to stay here again!
The picture was exactly like the apt. cozy and cute. great location. host was wonderful with bottle of wine in refrigerator and she even did our towels to make sure we had enough. would stay there again in a second
My wife and I have travelled quite extensively in Europe, South America and the U.S. This was one of the most enjoyable stays we've had anywhere. The apartment is walking distance to the awesome bars and restaurants on Greenville ave. It is clean modern, comfortable and well kept. I highly recommend staying here.
Marie was a fabulous host. Her place is so close to trendy restaurants and everything we needed during our stay. I couldn't be happier with where I stayed for my first visit to Dallas. For those who don't need a full kitchen but prefer separate sleeping and living areas this is the perfect place. We are definitely staying here again for our next visit to see friends.
Excellent like always.

About the Host, Marie
I have traveled around the world and love to meet new people. And yet, I am most happy when I am home with a good book or sitting around with friends. I think that is the reason I like the concept of Airbnb - enjoying that "home" feel even when traveling.
