Welcome to our cozy apartment in one of the most fun neighborhoods in Dallas. It is a one bedroom apartment in one of the original houses on the block. The apartment has its own private entrance. We are less than 2 blocks away from the Lower Greenville strip with restaurants, shops, nightlife and great people watching. The apartment is newly designed with everything you will need for a comfortable home away from home.
About The Apartment:
Our home was built in 1926 and keeps its old charm in the addition to modern amenities. There are two living quarters in the main house and one in back. The guest apartment is in the main house.
We renovated the guest apartment in April, 2013. The main room combines living and kitchen space. There is a comfortable sofa that opens into a spare double bed. The flatscreen TV has cable from Uverse. You have your own wireless internet access. If you don’t want to walk down the street to any of the cool restaurants, you can prepare your own dinner in the compact kitchen which is equipped with an under-the-counter fridge, microwave/convection oven, stovetop and dishes. Wood floors throughout make it easy for us to keep the apartment clean for you. The bathroom has the original claw-foot tub with a pretty fancy shower system attached. The bed is a new queen sized bed that is so comfortable, you just don’t want to get up!
The house shares cable access and electricity, however the guest apartment has its own private wifi and central heat and air. We could not fit a washer and dryer in the apartment, so we suggest nearby bundle laundry service or laundrymats. We will launder sheets and towels once a week. Parking is on the street in front of the house. We cannot accommodate dogs or cats in the apartment. However we do know of some good doggie hotels in the area.
We work full time, so this is not a hotel or BnB. It is a great place to stay for a short or long visit to Dallas.
About The Neighborhood:
You are going to LOVE IT! Your stay with us puts you in the middle of the best Dallas has to offer for sightseeing, getting around and nightlife. The Dallas Art District is 3 miles away and includes the Dallas Museum of Art (free admission), the Nasher Sculpture Garden and other galleries and parks, the Opera House and the new Museum of Nature and Science. The George W Bush presidential library and museum which just opened in May of 2013 is 2.5 miles away. White Rock Lake Park and the Dallas Arboretum are just over 3 miles to the east of us.
The Lower Greenville area is home to lots of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops; all within walking distance. Walk to Trader Joe’s and the Walmart Neighborhood Food Mart. Whole Foods, Sprouts and Greengrocers are less than a mile away.
You can borrow our 2 bikes to get around the neighborhood. It is great sight-seeing.
And now about your neighbors:
We are a great block in the Greenville Ave neighborhood. It is a great mix of friendly people that are always willing to help. We have lived here for over 18 years and love it. The apartment is on our property so it makes it easy for us to help you get settled in.
If you don't want to walk or bike around, there is public transportation at the end of our block. Take the bus around, or take the bus to the rail system, just up the street. Downtown, the parks, the arts district, and lots of interesting places are easy to get to from here.

This is by far the best Airbnb experience I have had. In fact, this has been one of the best customer service and happy encounters ever. Marie is an outstanding host, and I would recommend renting any property she owns.
My husband and I were in the Dallas area adopting our daughter. It was a complicated situation, and because of state regulations we needed to stay in Texas until paperwork cleared for us to be able to take her home to California. We reserved this 1 bedroom apartment through Airbnb, but then realized we needed to alter our arrival date. Marie was super quick with a friendly response to accommodate our date change.
Prior to arriving, I also let Marie know that my mother wanted to fly in from North Carolina to meet her granddaughter and was going to stay with us a for a few nights. Marie actually switched us to her larger 2 bedroom house which she also rents on Airbnb so we would have more room for all of us. Marie called to let me know this was an option and we met her at the property. She herself helped get the place cleaned for us and was a wonderful and gracious host.
We also needed to extend our reservation again while staying due to waiting on papers, and Marie was accommodating and helpful in allowing us to do so. She is an awesome woman, a lot of fun to talk with and we feel genuinely lucky to have met her.
We will most definitely stay in one of her properties again and hope to be able to stay connected. She is a gracious, generous host and one who helps to build and strengthen the Airbnb community.
The 2 bedroom house which we stayed in is absolutely charming and fully stocked with everything you might need. It's in a fantastic area of Dallas with many things to be able to walk to. The house includes wonderful linens, plenty of extra towels, and a fully stocked kitchen.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. The apartment is very clean, bright and cheery. Marie is an excellent host. She has thought of everything a visitor might need to make the stay comfortable, and there was plenty of space for our belongings. Also, the location was very convenient, especially since we were visiting in the Lakewood area. We definitely hope to stay here again!
My husband and I loved this private bungalow apartment! It was very comfortable with a well-stocked mini-kitchen, great shower with hot water/good pressure, and room to relax.Clean, well-decorated, quiet little gem. Our hosts, Marie and Eddy, were very friendly and helpful but respected our privacy. Home away from home.
Convenient to many little restaurants, bars, coffeehouses, and TJs. Great neighborhood.
Better than a five-star hotel!!
Marie's place was perfect for my work stay in Dallas. It is in a quiet suburban neighborhood, but just two blocks from a street that has numerous good restaurants, bars etc. A Trader Joe's and Walmart market too. The bed was super comfortable, and the apartment is really the whole back of a house. Recently renovated and beautifully decorated. A mini-fridge, microwave, new single burner on the countertop made it possible for me to save lots on food too. Nothing to complain about here...
Perfect host, allowed me to extend my stay right at the last second. Overall wonderful place to stay. 10/10
Great apartment located in a fantastic part of Dallas less than a stones throw from bars, great places to eat and shop. Everything you need.
Great location and apartment. Clean and with all the amenities.
The neighborhood has many restaurants and bars, a new Trader Joe's is a short walk away. The apartment is great for two people, comfy bed and old school tub and shower. The wifi was soso and signal was lost at times, cable tv was good. Kitchen works well for easy meals, there is a crock pot, one electric (induction?) burner and microwave/convention combo oven which worked great for us.
All in all a really nice place to stay and I would absolutely recommend staying here!
We loved staying at Marie's place! Marie was a wonderful host and was very patient with us as we were first-time airbnb guests. We were staying to be close to family for the holidays and the place was perfect.
The space is absolutely wonderful - cozy, close to fun shops and bars on Greenville, and full of extras including toiletries and a welcome basket of goodies. While we didn't use them, I loved that there was a crockpot as well as all the dishes/pots/pans that you could need.
Thanks for sharing your space with us Marie. We will definitely be back!
We had a fantastic stay with Marie! The place was beautiful, spacious, with great amenities. Marie went above and beyond to make us feel welcome & at home, giving us fantastic restaurant recommendations that were all a short walk away on Greenville Ave. We didn't cook during our stay, but the kitchen looked well furnished. It was the perfect space for a couples' get-away weekend. Thank you!!
The apartment and neighbourhood were both excellent and Marie was an absolute delight. The accommodations were very comfortable and furnished with everything one could reasonably want. Marie had left us with food for breakfast and necessary toiletries (including a spare toothbrush) in case we hadn't brought all of our own (which we had of course) and a bottle of wine. It was a very nice and trendy neighbourhood, not far from downtown, and Marie recommended restaurants and grocery shopping (an easy walk just around the corner in a vibrant entertainment district) that were all were top notch. (Try Daddy Jack's fish place. We went twice.). We didn't use the public transit but it looked pretty good too. Finally I can't say enough about Marie as a hostess. Among other things, we had too leave in a hurry to get to the airport due to an impending ice storm. Marie took the time and trouble to email that we we're welcome back to use the place if we got stuck because of weather as lots of people were. All around a great experience.
