"Olde Town Issaquah is ideal for people who want to experience the real Pacific Northwest, but prefer being close to the mountains instead of downtown Seattle." --A past guest
Olde Town is the original Issaquah township built back before floating bridges connected the East side of Lake Washington to downtown Seattle. Built on the broad, level, valley terrain, Olde Town is a throwback to better times with neighborhoods built at human scales (no need for cars), clustered around a main drag--in this case, Front Street.
Front Street offers more than a dozen restaurants, many of which are Seattle area favorites--including JaK's Grill, the Issaquah Brew House, and Max's World Cafe.
Bus service to downtown is good.
The Metro 554 is an express bus which stops in easy walking distance, and leaves every 20 minutes or so throughout the day.
YOU PROBABLY WANT/NEED A CAR:
Your best bet is a car. If you have one, then it's hard to find a better location in the greater Seattle area for ease of access.
You'll find drive times to popular locations posted at the top of the listing.
The house has two off-street parking spaces in the driveway, and there is plenty of street parking available as well.
Other Things to Note
The house is well loved and well maintained, but far from perfect. If you need new and perfect, then this is not the place for you.
Pets may be welcome, but arrangements must be made in advance.
Treat the property, it's contents, our neighbors and the neighborhood with respect and you'll have a great stay. We're excited to have you and your group stay at the property!

We have spent five beautiful nights at Jays house. From the first welcome we felt at home. Jay was waiting to welcome us and showed us around the house. The house itself has everything ones wishes for during his stay. The house was very cosy with a smart thermostats. The bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen very well equipped. The location of the house is very quite and close to everything. The whole family and the children enjoyed stay and we will for sure stay there again if we visit the area.
We had an awesome time at Jay and Sarah's place!
It is very well kept and matches the description exactly. The house is a very cozy and comfortable. They also have lots of on demand TV channels/movies which was a unexpected plus for us and that gave us the opportunity for a nice movie night in the first night we arrived.
Jay was also very helpful and gave us good recommendations for food and attractions around the Issaquah and Seattle area.
We had another enjoyable stay. Clean, attractive, comfortable, and a great location.
Spent one week at this clean, cozy, and comfortable home near downtown Issaquah. Jay timely met us at the house, provided a tour, and went to great lengths to ensure we were satisfied with the accommodations. Throughout the week he periodically contacted me to ensure that everything was satisfactory.
The beds were comfortable, the WiFi connectivity was fast, the television had a variety of entertainment channels, and the baked cookies Sarah left for us were fantastic. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. The creek directly across the street and the surrounding mountains provided a calming appeal during the stay. There are a variety of excellent restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance. There is also a bus stop up the street which connects to downtown Seattle and other regions in the metropolitan area.
I have absolutely no complaints; the stay was perfect. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a charming, relaxing Washingtonian experience.
Jay and Sarah were absolutely terrific hosts during my stay there.
The home is very comfortable and very well equipped with general living staples.
The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cookware.
The home is very conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Issaquah and centrally located in the overall area itself.
I would definitely rent this home again.
This little house was great, all the comforts of home. the beds comfy, the linens and towels very nice. Great location, near everything. Loved having a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Comfy conch and nice TV with all the extras like netflix and HBO, wifi. Jay was very friendly and really helpful in directing us to places we were interest in and places he thought we'd be interested in. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Seattle!
We loved Jay and Sarah's cute 2 bedroom house close to everything! Jay was cordial and responsive in answering questions before and during our 4 night stay! The beds were firm, the linens were luxurious, and the kitchen and bathroom had all the essentials, including a hair dryer! The location was convenient in a quiet neighborhood 1 block from Front Street and a few more blocks to groceries at Safeway and Trader Joe's and to gas stations. We enjoyed our stay so much! Travel is in our blood--Sarah was raised exploring the incredible Washington outdoors and loves to get out camping, and Jay visited most of the US, Hawaiian Islands and Europe on constant family adventures. Between the two of us, we've slept in snowed-in airports, been rained out of campsites, seen BB King play the catacombs of Paris, and enjoyed breakfast in bed at 5 star resorts--and we draw from that broad spectrum of experience when we host and travel as guests.
We're both Northwest natives, and we've got a couple of youngsters who are as well. There's no place in the world like the Pacific Northwest, and nothing quite like Issaquah. This place is magic, with a location and setting that combines all the best of what Washington has to offer.
We both love meeting new people and enabling you--our future guest!--to make the most of your time in the area.
