The Space

The Cosmopolitan is the ultimate in downtown accommodations, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a balcony looking over the Austin Convention Center and lots of space for entertaining. You simply cannot get any closer to the heart of SXSW and the best of downtown Austin.

Walk to everything including hundreds of restaurants, movie theaters, bars, nightclubs, lounges, and live music venues, the location cannot be beat. The town lake walking/jogging trail is just a few blocks away, there is a yoga studio just across the street, Starbucks is 200 feet from the front door, and arrangements can be made for a temporary gym membership two blocks away during your visit, if desired. We also provide full concierge services, so just tell us what you need and we will make it happen.

This extra large penthouse loft unit features accommodations for up to 12 guests (one California king bed, two queen beds, three twin beds, and 2 air mattresses), central air and heat, a full-sized stackable washer and dryer, a small balcony looking over the Austin Convention Center, free cable television, free wireless internet access, wood burning fireplace, and plush furnishings. With granite counter tops, renovated kitchen and bathrooms, flat screen televisions mounted on the walls, and a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen, every detail has been considered to make your stay a pleasant one.

A full kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and all of the tools you need to cook your favorite meals will be included, however there are so many dining options within a few blocks, you may never use it. A few nearby options include: Fleming's Steakhouse, Fogo de Chao, Piranha Sushi, Vince Young Steakhouse, Backspace, PF Changs, 200 Congress, La Condessa, Lamberts, Swift's Attic, Champions Sports Bar, Parkside, Eddie V's, The Onion, Swift's Attic, La Condessa, Trace, Lambert's, and many (email hidden) comes stocked with glassware, a blender, and all of the bar tools you will need to fix your favorite cocktails while visiting. Just add liquor and mixers and you are all set. The closest liquor store is 2 blocks away.

You will also receive access to free private gated parking for two cars (plus a motorcycle or scooter), if you need it. Since you can walk to everything, you might consider taking the Airport Flyer from Austin Bergstrom International for $1 per person. It picks up and drops off in front of the building every 30 minutes, and will save you the hassle and expense of a rental car or taxi.

There is also an outdoor pool area, and one of the most lively neighborhoods in ATX! If you need assistance with tours, transportation services, or anything else, we are here to help. The Airport Flyer will drop you at the door of this condo for $1, so be sure to check their schedule and save a few dollars.

There are certain dates (large events in Austin) that have minimum night restrictions. Please inquire about these dates.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the condo complex, the condo, the secured parking area, the pool area, and the best of downtown Austin.

Interaction with Guests

I like to interact with my guests as much or as little as they would like. I am always available (24/7) to answer questions via email, text, or phone, and I enjoy meeting many of my guests. However, I am also very respectful, and allow my guests to determine how much interaction they would like to have. Ever since I setup automatic door locks, there are some guests that I have not ever met in person. Whatever works best for the guest, works fine for me.

The Neighborhood

I love that the downtown neighborhood is so vibrant, and provides the ability to walk to the best restaurants, bars, shopping, and nightlife in Austin. The Railyard is in a unique location that is hard to beat. I also appreciate the convenient access to Town Lake for hiking and biking trails, among other things.

Getting around

In addition to the Airport Flyer that I already mentioned, there are also pedicabs, taxi cabs, light rail, horse-drawn carriages, limousines, and other forms of public transportation within a block that can be easily accessed.

Other Things to Note

If you are interested in hosting an even larger group, please note that I own and manage a large number of units in the same building complex, as well as some nearby houses. I am happy to host large groups for weddings, convention center trade shows, and other events in Austin.

  • Rented this place for a group of 10 visiting Austin for a bachelor party. Ryan and his group were very accommodating in helping us check-in early and check-out late. Place was clean and came as advertised. They even offered to to assist in making arrangements for dinner and daytime activities. I would highly recommend Ryan to any group visiting Austin in the future!

  • We had 9 in our group and it worked really nicely, especially because we had a few couples and a few singles. Ryan was quick to respond with all forms of communication, and the location couldn't be better. Easy walk to everything we wanted to do, and a 25 dollar cab fare from the airport because we didn't wait for the shuttle (some did and had a less than stellar, but ok experience). The only awkward part of the condo is with as many beds to accommodate a group, the main room is not that large and makes hanging out in the communal area a bit funny, but no big deal. I'd gladly recommend or stay there again.

  • The Cosmo was the perfect place to stay for our girls bachelorette party weekend! The condo was spacious enough to house 8-10 women! We loved the way it was decorated! Nice TVs in every room. Plenty of towels and bedding for our large group. The keyless entry was great for us to come and go at different times.
The location was right in the heart of downtown Austin! We hit up the river running path every morning and the Starbucks across the street from the condo got lots of business from us :-) We walked and took rig-shaws to many different bars and restaurants!

The community pool was a bit smaller than we had hoped. but it did get direct sunlight between the hours of 11-3 so our pale Chicago bodies enjoyed that :-)

Ryan recommended taking the bus to and from the airport and it was very convenient -- the stop is right across the street from the condo!
Ryan was a very responsive host and answered all of our questions before our trip so we were prepared and ready for a great experience!

We would totally recommend this property and will keep it in mind for our next trip to Austin!

  • Ryan's listing was as advertised. My friends and I had a great time, the apartment is spacious, clean and very conveniently located. Ryan is a very helpful host, and gave us a lot of tips for stuff unrelated to the apartment, to make our stay more fun. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Austin.

  • Ryan is a friendly and helpful host, helped quickly with any query. Apartment is lovely filled with nice touches (toiletries), 9 of us slept comfortably in it. So close to the nightlife but also quiet! Thank you for the great stay in Austin!

  • The Cosmo was a great place to stay--it's the closest you can get to the convention center, which was perfect for my group's needs. The keyless entrypad was ideal for our group as we had different schedules--no worrying about passing around a key. I will note that the three single beds are up in the loft, and it can be a bit loud for people sleeping up there if there are others still awake and talking in the living room/dining room. This probably wouldn't be a problem if you have a group of people who are 1) quiet at night or 2) have the same schedule.

Ryan was responsive to all emails/texts.

This location can't be beat--very easy access to both 6th street and the jogging trail. We walked to the Capitol one afternoon. And the bus stop for the airport is literally across the street. Super convenient location!

  • Ryan was a great host and provided lots of details for us in advance of our stay. He was also very patient while we explored options and asked about various parts of town. I'd certainly recommend staying at one of his properties!

  • Ryan was very responsive and communicative. The apartment was great for the birthday trip I planned for a group of friends: centrally located and big enough for all 8 of us to fit comfortably.

About
I have been in Austin since 1994. As much as I love the city, I also enjoy traveling and photographing vacation destinations and tourist attractions around the world. As a registered travel agent, I am able to work while I enjoy tours and activities in places like London, Paris, Rome, New York, San Francisco, and Hawaii, to name a few. I have always wanted to own/operate a hotel. That has been a passion of mine since I was a child. For that reason, I enjoy having guests staying in my rental properties, and I want to provide so much more than just a place to stay. My goal is to create a memorable experience for my guests. I want my guests to know that not only does Austin deliver a good time, but that this home away from home is waiting for you. With my connections in the travel industry, and tenure in the city, I strive to provide a level of service you will not find with other rental managers. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I enjoy talking about Austin and the property, so I welcome you to communicate with me. I am here to help, and your good time is my priority.
