Want to stay in a quiet, private getaway in the city without spending a fortune & without giving up accessibility & nearby access to some of Portlandia's hottest spots?

The space
****The Piedmont Cottage is available for stays of more than 30 days.****

The Piedmont Cottage is a modern take on a classic cottage, which will provide you with a personal touch & economical alternative to staying in a hotel/motel in the city. Located directly across the street from the Historic Peninsula Park Rose Garden, and minutes to Downtown Portland, this open, light-filled, urban space is fully furnished with everything you need whether you are visiting PDX for a few days or for an extended stay.

We designed the cottage to be a tranquil, hip, meditative, efficient, green friendly environment, which combines both comfort & practicality in its incredible 300 sq footprint. Though it is technically a studio (one room) the extra 70 square foot sleeping loft, vaulted 14 foot ceilings and private bath combine to make the space feel much larger than it is --- it is also a completely separate & standalone building.

Pricing:
•Monthly rates & rates for 3 or more persons available.
•There is $55 cleaning & laundering fee included in the pricing total you receive from Airbnb.

Guest access
The cottage is located in our backyard with a Zen garden complete with pond & waterfall, lots of bamboo rustling in the breeze, custom rock wall fire pit & fully landscaped yard space. Perfect for reflecting, bbq'ing, reading, relaxing, happy-houring or as a crash-pad while you explore all the Pacific Northwest has to offer within hours of this tranquil abode.

With regrets: No Pets/No Smoking

Cottage Rental Amenities:

•Garden-View open pane doors

One of the main things we love about our neighborhood is that it is in a bit of a quieter area but very close to many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, bookstores, boutiques & activities within walking, biking or public transportation distance. So you can really have your cake & eat it too. Come back to relax in our peaceful location after a busy day seeing the sights!

•5 minutes to the heart of Downtown by car - Rosa Parks Exit off I-5 is just a few blocks away.
•1 block to frequent bus routes (bus #4 Fessenden), 8 blocks to Yellow Line MAX ~ easy to get to public transportation!
•Bike friendly ~ two blocks from North Portland bike corridor
•10 blocks to beautiful Historic Mississippi District, 20 blocks to Alberta Arts District

Hi, We are self described lovers of life, music, fun, travel, art, music, gardening, food, wine, bikes & adventure! Together with our daughters Stella & Maddi, we try to live each day to its fullest with the understanding that life is short, so enjoy it! When we travel ( as much as we can! :), we have co-hosts Kathleen and / or Christine helping us with messaging, booking & on-site management of our units. Rest assured, someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible to answer your question or help you complete your booking. Your inquiry is very important to us & we make it a priority to respond in a timely manner. We have extensively traveled in South America, Central America, North America & Europe & we have toured as percussionists with MarchFourth Marching Band in many of those places as well. We love that we have been able to create a place now that we are settling in as a family where travelers can come visit us & share their vacations with us. We truly love hosting & our dream is to build more cottages in Portland, the city we love, call home & we always come back to, no matter how far away we range. We have been told we are laid back, generous hosts & we will be able to give you many spot on recommendations in the city or in the region as we have lived in & explored this area for over 20 years. We love to share our insider knowledge of the quirky, community spirited, eco-minded "Portlandia" that everyone is talking about. We absolutely love where we are located in the city directly across from Peninsula park with easy access to I-5, public transportation, bike routes & the trendy Mississippi & Alberta Arts districts. We hope you will join us & share the spaces we have created for your enjoyment. Best, Heather, Topher, Stella & Maddi (& Inigo ~ the dog)

During your stay
We are pretty hands off when it comes to interaction, we give you your own private space & leave you to enjoy yourself & your time here - but we are always just a text/phonecall or message away if you need anything at all~!

When you arrive you will enter through your own private gate on the North facing side of the house. You may enter at any time after your check-in time, late night check-ins are no problem.

We have a keyless check-in/check-out procedure so you will be able to enter/come & go as you wish without disturbing us, so please make yourself at home.

Our main goal is for you to have a pleasurable experience so if that means you spend a quiet time relaxing in the cottage & exploring on your own OR chatting with us about what the best route would be to ride your bike, eat brunch, do a soak/sauna, do some shopping & then catch a movie at a pub theatre; we are here to support you, either way!

We hope you can stay with us! We love our 'hood! We know you will too ~ we are the McGarrys & we'd love to host you: Heather, Topher, Stella, Maddi & Inigo (the dog)!
