About This Listing
Want to stay in a quiet, private getaway in the city without spending a fortune & without giving up accessibility & nearby access to some of Portlandia's hottest spots?
The Piedmont Cottage is a modern take on a classic cottage, which will provide you with a personal touch & economical alternative to staying in a hotel/motel in the city. Located directly across the street from the Historic Peninsula Park Rose Garden, and minutes to Downtown Portland, this open, light-filled, urban space is fully furnished with everything you need whether you are visiting PDX for a few days or for an extended stay.
We designed the cottage to be a tranquil, hip, meditative, efficient, green friendly environment, which combines both comfort & practicality in its incredible 300 sq footprint. Though it is technically a studio (one room) the extra 70 square foot sleeping loft, vaulted 14 foot ceilings and private bath combine to make the space feel much larger than it is --- it is also a completely separate & standalone building.

Our stay at the cottage was absolutely perfect! The bed, pillows and comforter were sooooooo comfortable, excellent quality. I loved the loft style and cute decor inside. It is truly private access to the cottage. The smell when you walked in was so nice, clean and fresh! The location across from the rose garden was so beautiful, you can smell all the roses from across the street. It was extremely clean throughout the entire cottage. For our first time in Portland, the cozy cottage really set the tone. Everything is exactly as stated in the listing and photos are accurate. I absolutely loved the pond and hearing it when we woke up every morning, we also used the tandem bike which was a lot of fun. Thank you heather and Topher for making us feel at home in your cute little cottage!
One if the best places we have ever stayed! Comfortable with anything you would ever need while away from home. There is a lovely little kitchen which we used to cook a couple meals. The bed is super comfortable, which is usually not the case. The back yard has a zen garden with a waterfall and a little pond which was very peaceful after a busy day traveling around town. Their little girl even gave me a hand full of lavender on my last night to put in my pillow. Such a sweet little family!
Some recommendations for things near by. We traveled by light rail, bus and rented bikes. Super easy to navigate and a very bike friendly town! We used a bike rental that was about 10 or so blocks from where we stayed called Everybody Bike Rental. Loved them. Also there was a lovely little restaurant we ate at for breakfast two mornings called Sweedeedee. And across the street from that is a great coop we grabbed groceries from.
The house is also fairly close (bikeable) to Mississippi Arts District and Alberta Arts District. Great shops and food at both.
All around great stay and would highly recommend staying here!
The Piedmont Cottage was our first experience with Airbnb and it was just perfect. It was awesome for our family of 4. The kitchen was fully equipped and the entire cottage was very clean. The cottage is tucked away from the road so it has a very secluded feeling in the middle of Portland. It is within walking distance of a huge park (right across the street, incredible) and great restaurants. Our hosts were lovely people, you can definitely tell they put a lot of thought and loving energy into their cottage. We highly recommend Piedmont Cottage and we'll definitely be coming back!
Heather and Topher are fantastic hosts! This is the second time we've stayed with them. Nothing changed from the first experience - the location is stellar and the tiny house itself is super clean and inviting. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
This was exactly how listed, only better! It was very cute and suited my needs for the short time I was there. It was great to wake up and hear the pond in the morning. Heather and Topher were exceptionally warm and friendly, while giving me space to enjoy my time and vacation.
