Want to stay in a quiet, private getaway in the city without spending a fortune & without giving up accessibility & nearby access to some of Portlandia's hottest spots?
***SUMMER BOOKING IS ALREADY HEATING UP!***
The Piedmont Cottage is a modern take on a classic cottage, which will provide you with a personal touch & economical alternative to staying in a hotel/motel in the city. Located directly across the street from the Historic Peninsula Park Rose Garden, and minutes to Downtown Portland, this open, light-filled, urban space is fully furnished with everything you need whether you are visiting PDX for a few days or for an extended stay. We designed the cottage to be a tranquil, hip, meditative, efficient, green friendly environment, which combines both comfort & practicality in its incredible 300 sq footprint. Though it is technically a studio (one room) the extra 70 square foot sleeping loft, vaulted 14 foot ceilings and private bath combine to make the space feel much larger than it is --- it is also a completely separate & standalone building.

Really wonderful - cute, cozy cottage, peaceful neighborhood, and relaxing back-yard. Got to meet some of the family, and really appreciated their help and conversation. The tandem, though, was our highlight. We got to tour around N. Portland, as well as Downtown easily. We also walked to the Mississipi District for a couple meals and atmosphere.
The Piedmont Cottage was a great place to stay for a weekend in Portland. I walked down to the shops and restaurants on Mississippi (20 min or so) and it was easy to get downtown by car. The McGarry's backyard is cute and quiet and while you're inside you don't even realize you're in someone's backyard. The kitchen had all the cookware, etc that we needed. And I can only imagine how pretty the rose garden is across the street during the summer!! So... awesome place, awesome host, awesome city... I'd totally stay there again :)
My experience at the McGarry's Cottage in the Portland was beyond my high expectations. They already has tons of 5 star reviews, so I was confident that my stay would be a good experience. However, I was still amazed. The cottage is very well made it’s bright, spotless, and well appointed. I really liked this cottage it has a very nice compact bathroom, very comfortable bed, & the kitchen is spacious and functional. Heather is laid back, gracious & experienced as an Airbnb hostess (that is, there was little awkward chit-chat or silence). I travel to Portland to visit friends often. I would stay at Heather's cottage as my first choice every time. And of course, the location is perfect to to many places for dinning and exploring. A+++
Such a lovely little cottage! The location was great, near some nice neighbourhoods with great restaurants and shops. It's a quick easy bike from their place to downtown. Overall the cottage was in great shape and a pleasure to stay at.
Heather's cottage was absolutely lovely! A perfect space for up to 4 people with the lofted bed and pull out sofa and a very convenient kitchen. The cottage was in a convenient location only 1 block to the nearest bus stop (easiest to get anywhere in portland in our opinion) or a 10 minute walk from the MAX station. Our hosts were incredibly nice and anything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Thanks Heather and we hope to return soon! Oh yeah and rent bikes of course!
A lovely place to call home during your stay in PDX! Cozy, convenient, and the hosts make you feel so welcome! I know where I will stay on my next trip to Portland.
Great house, great location, nice couple. Highly recommend if your in Portland.
This was my first stay in an airbnb. travelling with my father. The place was awesome. cool photos on the walls. actual fancy soaps, not just hotel bars. a little oasis to hide away from the city. the location was close to cool bars and everything i came to Portland to see. fully recommend to anyone needing a short term home in Portland.I would love to go back when it is not raining. not sure that ever happens.
My wife and I were in Portland to celebrate the birth of our first grandchild. Heather's cottage on Pennisula Park was the perfect choice for us. The Japanses aesthetic is most appealing. Just beginning there calms the soul. The climb up to the loft bed requires good balance and a little courage but it is well worth the effort.
Quiet, comfortable, cozy cottage. Approx. 15 minute walk to yellow line MAX station and grocery store.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
