My very comfortable log home is surrounded by woods. Outside every window there is a beautiful view of trees. Behind the house are trails to cool old cemeteries and lovely streams. (In fact, I have just added some pictures of one of these trail walks). It is conveniently located on a main route only 5 miles from Amherst center.
The suite consists of 2 rooms and a full bath. One room is a bedroom with a double bed. The other is a sitting room with a thick very comfortable futon couch that folds out to a double bed. It also has has a tv with Directv and an extensive eclectic library. There is a full bath with a great shower and a jacuzzi tub. The suite is on the entire second floor making it completely private.
Downstairs there is full access to the living room, with pellet stove and large screen tv, to the kitchen, and to a screened in porch - weather permitting! There is also a washer/dryer, treadmill, and WiFi.
I have a very shy cat, Stanley, who likes to sleep on top of the pellet stove. ME?! I am not at all shy, but can absolutely give you all the privacy you may desire.
Jill's wonderful home is a very short drive form the center of Amherst. We stayed and used it as a base for college visits, and hope to return if my niece ends up attending school here. I can't recommend enough staying at her home vs. a local hotel. She has a private suite on the upper floor which functions as either 2 bedrooms or a bedroom and large den.
I loved staying at Jill's home. The entire upstairs was available, and was very private and very clean, with a private bath. As others have mentioned, the best part of the stay was visiting with Jill. She is very gracious, warm and welcoming. I loved our conversations and feel like I have a friend in Amherst!
Jill is a wonderful host; sweet, friendly, generous and very accommodating. Her log home suite is just as described, cozy and picturesque. I had the entire second floor of her rustic chateau to myself: a bedroom, a small living room and private bathroom all with windows facing the surrounding lush woods.
If you’re looking for a great stay with a warm, smart, open-minded woman who loves Star Trek and can quote Harry Potter inside out, check out Jill’s Pelham hideaway. Ya can’t miss.
Jill was a warm and entertaining host! She made my in-laws feel at ease and welcome for their first airbnb stay. Both bed rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious with a lovely bathroom for the guests to share. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves though we spent much of our mornings chatting with Jill, over endless cups of coffee and delicious bagels. We are looking forward to another visit to Jill's with some time to hike the trails behind her house.
Thanks Jill for a great weekend!
Jill's place is beautiful with the whole upper floor available to us. The beds were comfortable, and the place was clean. The best thing about staying here, however, was Jill's hospitality and cheerful demeanor. We were in the area visiting Amherst on a college tour, and my daughter now feels like she has a grandma in this area if she ends up getting in to Amherst!
We had a lovely stay with Jill and Stanley the cat. Jill was a warm host, making sure we had our coffee cups filled in the morning, engaged with exciting stories ranging from civil rights to life in the 1960s in SF, and ready to start our day with suggestions for local hiking trails and book recommendations! If you're looking for an engaging hostess and beautiful log cabin to stay in, this is your place! We stayed here to attend a conference for the weekend and loved our morning conversations with Jill, gearing us up for the day! Thanks so much Jill!

I am new to airbnb, but not to inviting people to stay in my home! I am a retired teacher with many interests. I am originally from Idaho and so feel very comfortable in my log home in the woods. I love to travel and meet new people. You would be most comfortable and most welcome in my home!
