Nice Room in House on Monkton Pond

House - Private room · Monkton Road, North Ferrisburgh, VT 05473, United States

The Space

Very sweet, rustic cottage right on Cedar Lake aka Monkton Pond. (The map here isn't accurate. This house is indeed RIGHT on the lake.)
Monkton is a rural area 10 minutes from Bristol or Hinesburg--2 nice towns with shopping and great restaurants. Williston and South Burlington are small cities and less than 25 minutes away. Burlington is 30 minutes away. The Champlain Islands and Montreal are all within easy day drives.

But you may not want to leave the cottage and lake!
HBO, Netflix and Showtime in living room, and I have an easy setup for a large movie screen (5x7) if you really want to indulge in a good movie.

The bedroom is downstairs, medium size, and has a very comfortable queen bed, and mostly private bathroom with a shower and tub. Upstairs is another room with a futon bed, for an extra fee of $25 for one, $30 for two, and there is a sleeper sofa in the living room if 3rd bed is needed, for an additional $15. All prices include breakfast.

Nice porch overlooking the lake. Use of boat and backyard barbeque and firepit. Great fishing and swimming ( there are some water weeds, but still quite pleasant!)

A home cooked breakfast is included on Saturday OR Sunday. Mostly organic fare, made to order! I can do gluten free, vegetarian, or good old American style.
Continental breakfast (self serve) during the weekdays (and on the alternate Sat. or Sun.) includes many options...
Coffee/tea/seltzer complimentary 24/7

Full use of kitchen, washer/dryer, and two living areas.

Hot tub with great jets.

  • My boyfriend Sam and I stayed with San for just the weekend, but it was perfect. The room was cozy and the view of the lake couldn't be beat. San was very hospitable and was very helpful with giving us ideas on things to do and places to eat. After a long day on the town, Sam and I would go back to the house and cuddle on the couch with Sans dogs and watch Breaking Bad. It was our first experience with AIRBNB but San made it So effortless. Staying with her will make your vacation perfect.

  • Our weekend in Vermont was perfect. You can't get more local or farm fresh than eggs from chickens in the yard for breakfast! The location is perfect - secluded and beautiful but easily accessible to Burlington and Shelburne. We took full advantage of the hot tub and next time will be sure to make time to use the row boat.

  • Our first airbnb experience went very well. San, her dogs & chickens were all so welcoming. We had a very quiet private room, and full access to the home. Breakfast was delicious and eaten on the screened in porch with a view of the lake. Very nice location!

  • I was just in heaven at San's place. I got there and had the place to myself that night which gave me plenty of time to take pictures and just take in the beauty of her home and the pond out back. It was one of the most peaceful places I have ever been in my life and her friends were great fun. I had a wonderfully relaxing time and the location was just perfect for viewing fall colors. Best drive ever from the Shawangunks to San's place along the lakes. Thanks again San!!

  • Cool homy place. San was in and out during the week-end leaving us with the house, the view on the lake, the 3 chickens and her 2 friendly little dogs. The week-end was casual and friendly. I told her I felt like I just found a long lost cousin! My husband and son went cycling in the countryside, I worked on the balcony in front of the beautiful view. She shared tips on things to do closeby. Ho and the breakfasts where really good! Great week-end! Thanks again San

  • San is a super friendly host with a great spot on a lake. She suggested a fantastic nearby restaurant for dinner and some cool spots in Burlington the next day too. Her dogs are sweet, the house is lovely, and breakfast was delish. Stay here!

  • Nice spot on a beautiful lake. We're sorry we didn't get the chance to swim or take the boat out, but we loved seeing the lake every morning at breakfast, and the sunset at night! The house is convenient to lots of great towns and sights in the region. Breakfast was yummy and nutritious! Thanks!

About
Easy going musician, I also teach music in a public school. I lead a casual, natural lifestyle. I am friendly and outgoing, yet I respect privacy and want my guests to feel comfortable and autonomous. I am happy to help you create a wonderful Vermont experience, including suggesting some great bike trips. I am a film buff--and have a 5x7 foot movie screen and projector, in case you're into a small "event!" I love talking movies and tv shows like Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad, for example. I am also an amateur gardener, currently raising chickens for eggs, and hanging out with the frogs at my homemade little frog pond.
