Looe is considered one of the loveliest of the unspoilt Cornish fishing villages and has many outstanding restaurants with a myriad of quaint shops and a labyrinth of streets to explore. With its fleet of small fishing boats returning their catches to port daily, the village has a reputation for procuring excellent fresh fish. Local activities include sailing, fishing and diving.
Explore the mystical magic of Cornwall with its pretty beaches, picturesque villages and impressive coastal walks atop its craggy cliffs. Visit Cornwall's ecological cause célèbre, the Eden Project. Inside these futuristic domes you are transported to other worlds filled with weird and wonderful plants from the Rainforest or colourful blankets of tulips from the Mediterranean.
Looe has a charming small train station and many of the routes are along the coastal line with views across the ocean.
Other Things to Note
Book early for the Looe Music Festival in late September and don’t forget New Year’s Eve, when Looe is one of the top 10 places in the UK to celebrate. People flock the streets in their hundreds, wearing fancy dress, a tradition upheld by all ages, culminating in a firework display on the sea front.
