The room is in an apartment in a listed building on a quiet private lane lined with trees. It has a A 17.5 X 14 foot bedroom with a huge window with a view onto a walled garden at the back. It's a double bed but not huge. The kitchen and bathroom are to be shared with myself ( I hardly cook so you will have it to yourself and there is a dining table which opens out to a round table with 4 chairs ) and the 19 foot lounge which overlooks my garden at the front can be enjoyed when I'm out. I use the lounge as a workspace but you are welcome to use it when I'm out.
I will be sleeping in the lounge at night.
The lounge, bedroom and kitchen have original Victorian cornices, very high ceilings, original panelled doors with brass plates and handles and huge marble fireplaces. You can enjoy the garden which is owned by me at any time.
You can make calls from my landline as I have free international calls but don't go over 1 hour at a time.
I am a painter, designer, photographer and designed the decoration of the apartment and landscaped the garden myself.

Tess P+Nate H said "Gaynor was a great guest. She shared her wonderful personality with us for nearly 3 weeks and we all had a great time. If she decides to rent out her own home, I'm sure she will be a great host too.
Opal Essence said "Gaynor is smart and open to new ideas and perspectives. Because of her keen eye and perception she would be an asset to any living situation and make a great host !

The apartment will be clean when you arrive. The kitchen and bathroom are shared so please leave these as clean and tidy as you found them. During the stay I clean them but request guests pick up themselves anything they have dropped and clean anything they have spilled. Thank you.

My daughter stayed with Gaynor over Christmas and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, bright, warm and welcoming .
Gaynor was very friendly and helpful and my daughter throughly enjoyed staying with her. Many Thanks
Gaynor made me feel really welcome right from the beginning and her home is lovely. She was really flexible and was happy to accommodate my late arrival and help me with directions. The apartment was really spacious as was my room and Gaynor allowed me use of the kitchen should I need it. The area was really nice and had parking directly outside. I left feeling as though I had made a new friend and I had a lovely stay.
Gaynor's flat is lovely.
She made me feel very confortable.
The area is nice and not far to the station and the center of Lancaster.
Lovely little garden!
WYSIWYG: friendly, uncomplicated, helpful, highly recommended - anytime again! Thanks, Gaynor!
Every hotel was booked because of graduation week so I was lucky to come across Gaynor's listing on AirBNB. Gaynor has a beautiful home (the kitchen is especially lovely). She is very pleasant and helpful. Her house is an easy walk from the castle (it takes fewer than ten minutes). I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this listing to others.
Gaynor is very accommodating and friendly. The room is the same as the description listed, and the whole place is beautiful! We had a good time there. Thanks Gaynor!
I enjoyed my visit to Lancaster (for a conference at the University), and Gaynor's room was a perfect home-base. The description is completely accurate in all details. The room is huge, peaceful and comfortable. Gaynor is friendly, considerate and relaxed. I liked walking around the interesting small central city (try the flat white at Costa Coffee!) while also enjoying a lovely street of old stone houses on the walk to the quiet street where Gaynor lives. Although I did not have need to use the kitchen, visitors are well provided for. I recommend Gaynor's place to anyone who wants a quiet, affordable, convenient place to stay in Lancaster.
