The Space

The room is in an apartment in a listed building on a quiet private lane lined with trees. It has a A 17.5 X 14 foot bedroom with a huge window with a view onto a walled garden at the back. It's a double bed but not huge. The kitchen and bathroom are to be shared with myself ( I hardly cook so you will have it to yourself and there is a dining table which opens out to a round table with 4 chairs ) and the 19 foot lounge which overlooks my garden at the front can be enjoyed when I'm out. I use the lounge as a workspace but you are welcome to use it when I'm out.
I will be sleeping in the lounge at night.
The lounge, bedroom and kitchen have original Victorian cornices, very high ceilings, original panelled doors with brass plates and handles and huge marble fireplaces. You can enjoy the garden which is owned by me at any time.
You can make calls from my landline as I have free international calls but don't go over 1 hour at a time.
I am a painter, designer, photographer and designed the decoration of the apartment and landscaped the garden myself.

Tess P+Nate H said "Gaynor was a great guest. She shared her wonderful personality with us for nearly 3 weeks and we all had a great time. If she decides to rent out her own home, I'm sure she will be a great host too.
Opal Essence said "Gaynor is smart and open to new ideas and perspectives. Because of her keen eye and perception she would be an asset to any living situation and make a great host !

  • We had a very pleasant stay. Gaynor was a very welcoming host and made us feel very comfortable from the very first moment we were there. Since it was our first time booking through airbnb we were a little apprehensive but with our stay here we were happily surprised. The bedroom was very spacious and lighted with a beautiful garden view, it was exactly how we expected it from the pictures. Thanks for a warm and comfortable stay.

  • Gaynor was a perfect host. She had prepared everything for us and spent time with us to show us her house despite our unexpectedly late time of arrival. She was discreet, kind, and always tried to make our stay comfortable. Her flat is really lovely and pleasant, exactly as described on the website. We will keep nice memories from our stay.

  • we arrived little late at her place, as our train was late. But she did not fuss or anything. She is extremely kind person and has much info about Lancaster and surrounding areas. we loved to stay with her, and given a chance would love to stay at hers.
The house is located close to the station and the city center. We enjoyed chatting with her about art as well. and her house is beautiful.

  • My boyfriend and I were visiting Lancaster to catch up with my brother who is studying at the University. We stumbled across Gaynor’s apartment as a cost effective option seeing as we were only wanting a base for our trip. Gaynor was a wonderful host from start to finish. She was fast to respond to emails to confirm logistics and was extremely kind and helpful during our stay. The photos for Gaynor’s apartment do not do it justice! The flat is absolutely stunning and Gaynor’s bedroom where we stayed was huge and immaculate – similar to the remainder of the building. Gaynor was very welcoming indeed and we enjoyed the added bonus of viewing her artwork and photography! This is the perfect place if you want somewhere central to town, with the added bonus of being able to come and go as you please during a stay in the wonderful city of Lancaster.

Thank you Gaynor - I am sure we shall be back again before my brother finishes his studies!
