About this listing
The room is in an apartment in a listed building on a quiet private lane lined with trees. It has a A 17.5 X 14 foot bedroom with a huge window with a view onto a walled garden at the back. It's a double bed but not huge. The kitchen and bathroom are to be shared with myself ( I hardly cook so you will have it to yourself and there is a dining table which opens out to a round table with 4 chairs ) and the 19 foot lounge which overlooks my garden at the front can be enjoyed when I'm out. I use the lounge as a workspace but you are welcome to use it when I'm out.
I will be sleeping in the lounge at night.
The lounge, bedroom and kitchen have original Victorian cornices, very high ceilings, original panelled doors with brass plates and handles and huge marble fireplaces. You can enjoy the garden which is owned by me at any time.
You can make calls from my landline as I have free international calls but don't go over 1 hour at a time.
I am a painter, designer, photographer and designed the decoration of the apartment and landscaped the garden myself.

Tess P+Nate H said "Gaynor was a great guest. She shared her wonderful personality with us for nearly 3 weeks and we all had a great time. If she decides to rent out her own home, I'm sure she will be a great host too.

L'accueil a été très agréable. Le quartier est très calme, pas très loin du centre. L'appartement est très joliment décoré, lumineux, et confortable.
Gaynor was so welcoming and we absolutely loved staying in her beautiful apartment. I love to cook and the kitchen was an added bonus to staying here. The bedroom is bright, spacious and quiet with a pretty view of the garden and lovely tall, old trees. It's only a 10 min walk to the train station and town centre, so very convenient. Gaynor also told us about wooded and canal walks nearby which we enjoyed very much. We will definitely stay again the next time we're in Lancaster! Big thank you, Gaynor!! Paul and Misty
Gaynor's house is beautiful, and she really made us feel at home. We were comfortable and happy during our stay and it was lovely talking to her about Lancaster and her travels to other places. She made my family feel very welcome! We would definitely love to stay with her again the next time we are in Lancaster.
Gaynor was there to greet me and was friendly and welcoming. After she gave me the rules and the keys I was off to town, which was an enjoyable 10 minute walk from her lovely flat. I brought my own breakfast so I can't comment on that, but she was very accommodating and answered my many questions.
A great looking room in a house that provided all that I would need. Gaynor is very helpful, while letting you get on with your own thing. The apartment itself is in a fabulous location less than 10 minute walk from Lancaster town center and less to be out in the city's surrounding fields. Would definitely use again if in the area.
My wife and I were in Lancaster for 3 nights. Gaynor's home is a lovely English style house perfectly described in the pictures. It is clean, pretty and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Gaynor is a sweet and warm host and had lots to share with us :-). We had an enjoyable stay thanks to the beautiful home. Definitely recommend!
My wife and I enjoyed the scenic view from the spacious and elegant bedroom. The landlord is nice and helpful, allowing us to cook all the days in the beautifully decorated kitchen, even my son stayed there till late night. She also guided us to a breathtaking walking path and orchard in Lancaster. We fetched food stuff from supermarets in town centre everyday as it took 10mins walk only! The bathroom is clean, tidy and spacious. We have a wonderful experience there and definitely recommend to anyone who loves clean, tidy and peaceful life especially cooking!
