The space

The room is in an apartment in a listed building on a quiet private lane lined with trees. It has a A 17.5 X 14 foot bedroom with a huge window with a view onto a walled garden at the back. It's a double bed but not extra sized. The kitchen and bathroom are to be shared with myself ( I hardly cook so you will have it to yourself and there is a dining table which opens out to a round table with 4 chairs )
I will be working and sleeping in the lounge so you will be private, unless you want to chat.
The lounge, bedroom and kitchen have original Victorian cornices, very high ceilings, original panelled doors with brass plates and handles and huge marble fireplaces. You can enjoy the garden which is owned by me at any time.
You can make calls from my landline as I have free international calls but don't go over 1 hour at a time.
I am a painter, designer, photographer and designed the decoration of the apartment and landscaped the garden myself.
10 minutes walk into the city centre including The Castle.
Around the corner from my place there is a path leading to a community orchard and a walk along the canal.
15 minutes drive to the famous Art Deco hotel, The Midland Hotel, Morecambe.
30 minutes drive to The Lake District.
1 hour drive or train to Manchester.
2 and a half hours on train to London or Edinburgh.
Central heating, shower and bath in a hotel style bathroom.
Tess P+Nate H said "Gaynor was a great guest. She shared her wonderful personality with us for nearly 3 weeks and we all had a great time. If she decides to rent out her own home, I'm sure she will be a great host too.
Opal Essence said "Gaynor is smart and open to new ideas and perspectives. Because of her keen eye and perception she would be an asset to any living situation and make a great host !
Laurel Bank Lane is at the top of the hill, a turn right off Westbourne Road.

I stayed at Gaynor’s house for a month in June 2017. The apartment was very nice and comfortable, perfectly situated in a quiet, residential area. Gaynor is a very welcoming host, she provided me with useful tips about Lancaster and its surroundings. I would recommend staying in Gaynor’s house to everybody.

I spent a month in Gaynor's room and I really enjoyed it. The room and the apartment are very beautiful and clean. The kitchen is very comfortable. The flat is placed in a quiet zone, just a 10-minute walk from the station and close to several bus stops. Gaynor is a very welcoming host; she gave me many suggestions for my staying in Lancaster. I really appreciate the time I had at this accommodation.

Beautiful bright room and flat in a lovely and quiet location that's just a short walk from the city, so perfectly located :) The bed is not huge but very comfortable and it's lovely to have the morning light coming in through those large windows! We really enjoyed using the kitchen - we cooked often and used the kitchen table to work from there (as we had to continue running our business while travelling). Really perfect! Gaynor is a very respectful and kind host, who provided us with all the tips we needed - thanks to her, we even discovered one of the coolest coffeeshops we've ever seen, which is right nearby and is called "The Hall" - definitely try it if you like coldbrew and special coffee drinks in a lovely indie ambiance ;)

I showed up early as my flight and train were precisely on time and Gaynor was very welcoming. She allowed me to access the room early and I was able to take a short nap to help get over the jetlag of a 10 hour flight. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and the wifi worked well. The window allowed the beautiful songs of all the local birds to suffuse the space creating a very peaceful ambiance. Great location far enough from the business of town for tranquility yet close to it to allow easy access. I brought my bicycle and it was a very easy commute to the surrounding areas. Thank you, Gaynor, for a very nice room and I hope I wasn't too much trouble arriving as early as I did.
