Located into a re-styled farmer monastery, this B&B offers rooms with a wonderful sugthseeing from the top of a hill.
Realaxing atmosphere, pleasant surroundings including garden, charmed wooden floor in all the rooms, out from city traffic. Rooms have private bath.
The landlord offers its experience in preparing italian delicacies for the guests at any time, giving cuisine lessons.
The host is also very collaborative in picking visitors at the Bologna airpot or railway station if asked for. You may also join the landlord in painting watercolors.
Trekking routes are presents in the surroundings, including a route to the Bologna historical center, 3 km far from.
Bologna is an ancient university town, known for its towers (seventeen!) and its long arcades, has a well-preserved historic center, which is among the largest in Italy.
Bologna has a dense network of cycle paths. The current network is 120 km long and is divided into 5 radial routes that depart and arrive from the center to the suburbs, making it the ideal city for tourism on two wheels. From Bologna you can reach in a short time (between one and two hours by car), some of the most beautiful cities in Italy: Tuscany from Florence, Pisa, Arezzo and Siena, to Emilia, Modena, Parma and Ferrara, Ravenna, Rimini and Cesena to the Venetian Verona, Padua and Venice, from Lombardy Mantova and Urbino in Marche region.
NOTE: the price is comprehensive of the accomodation tax!
Clean shared apartment with friendly host.
Beautiful home in the hills just outside Bologna. The room was very comfortable, the view from the window was amazing. Massimo was very helpful and his wonderful breakfasts were the perfect way to start the day. I can highly recommend staying here. Thanks
Massimo's place is a very good designed and spacious apartment. It is easy to reach with his directions and GPS by car.
The best highlight of our stay was Massimo's dinner. After such a good reviews, you cannot miss the chance try his dinner at home. It is definetely better than dining at an usual restaurant.
He is more than helpful about giving tipps and suggestions about Bologna. It is also a good spot to stay several days for exploring Bologna city center.
Massimo is a fantastic host and an even better cook! He went out of his way to help me with a photo shoot and even provided a guided tour around the city centre. By all means eat at his place (which is a fair way out of the city) - you will not be disappointed!
A great stay!
A beautiful home. If you want a place away from the bussle of the city, Massimo's place is perfect. Spotless, stylish and very comfortable. Massimo picked us up and dropped us off at the station. He was very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend you take him up on his offer for dinner. It was worth every penny. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay and Massimo was very helpful and an excellent host and cook. It is out of the city (about 8 km) so transport is an issue. It is accessible by taxi at a cost of 20 to 25 euros and would not be easy by bus or on foot. Massimo can meet you and took us in and out to main city gates on his way to work and back.
Fantastic host ! First of all , Massimo is leaving in a really charming apartment, decorated with taste and full of interesting art objects. Massimo is an interesting person with a deep history knowledge of Bologna Citi ( as well as the region ). We experienced a really entertaining and friendly conversation with Massimo and his daughter and we felt home right away. The master piece of this stay, is the Italian diner served by Massimo, which will make you want to stay longer. I fully recommend this place as a "Must do" in Bologna !
We had a wonderful time staying with Massimo. He is a wonderful host and knows how to look after his guests. The room was very comfortable and he cooked a magnificent meal for us.
Massimo was very generous in giving us recommendations for sights to visit and places to eat. He even dropped us off at the local restaurant!
The location of his apartment is far enough from central Bologna to feel like you've escaped the city but easily accessible by bus/car/train.
The apartment was clean and comfortable; Massimo has a very interesting collection of vintage and antique objects. Massimo is a very accomplished chef and we enjoyed very much the meals he put on for us.
The place is a little challenging to find - my suggestion if using satnav is to locate the Shell petrol station in Pianoro, which is at the bottom of the drive way up to Massimo's place. Nothing else seemed to work with our 32 month out of date satnav from Hertz. You may have a better satnav than we did!
Massimo is a first class host, and his home is equally fantastic.
Located atop a beautiful hill just a short distance away from the Bologna city centre, Massimo's place is comfortable, well furnished, and extremely homely. Although it was raining most of the time when we were there, we really enjoyed the fresh air and great views that came with living in the area.
Massimo took the effort to ensure that all our needs were met, and offered great recommendations as well as maps to help us get around.
We took the option of having Massimo prepare dinner for us, and it was well worth it! He is a top chef (he mentioned that it's his passion) and his traditional, home-cooked Bolognese cuisine would rival that of any restaurant out there.
The only downside we could think of is the location of his place. We would recommend having a car as it would be much more convenient. No worries if you've got no car as you could probably get a lift from Massimo out to the city centre in the morning when he leaves for work.
All in all, it was an awesome experience staying at Massimo's. We had a great time talking about food, music, technology and the finer things in life.
