The house has beautiful natural light, hardwood floors, and slate tile throughout! The kitchen has granite countertops, stove/ oven, dishwasher, microwave, and a platinum finish refrigerator, and all the basic cooking supplies. Fresh coffee and creamer and coffee maker provided! The home has fast Wifi internet, streaming netflix, blueray and DVD player, and a 40" flatscreen tv. Every bedroom closet has room for you to unpack and get comfortable, and there is a washer/dryer as well.
The second floor is a real treat! About 800 square feet of spacious master bedroom and en suite bathroom, with a separate jacuzzi tub and standing shower. There is even a quiet porch accessible by french doors off the master, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood and a view of the backyard. The backyard has a dining area for 5, and lounge seating for 4, with a grill and beautiful fencing throughout. A special treat in the springtime is to sit out there with your coffee in the morning, where you can see a dozen different kinds of birds and smell the jasmine and roses!
Old Fourth Ward is a historic neighborhood rich in history and diversity, with a vibrant present; it is rapidly becoming the 'it' neighborhood for young families and professionals.
* If you want history, my home is ~.5 mile from Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birth home, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the Martin Luther King Museum-- all a must-see in Atlanta!
* If you are looking to explore Atlanta's best neighborhoods, you'll find my home is a hub, and Downtown, Midtown, Virginia Highlands, Cabbagetown, and Inman Park are all 1-2 miles away in each direction.
* If you want nature, you can just walk 1 block to the Beltline (and 2.5 blocks to Freedom Parkway trail), multi-use green space with miles of biking and walking trails, which connects many parks and neighborhoods, and .75 miles from the new Fourth Ward Historic Park.
* If you want night life, you are just 2.5 blocks from Highland Bakery, Zuma Sushi, Across the Street Mexican Restaurant, P'Cheen, and Jack's Wings and Pizza, and about 1/2 mile from trendy bars and restaurants on Edgewood, and Inman Park restaurants and shopping.
* And if you want to stay in and cook, Whole Foods, Kroger, and Publix are all under 1 mile away.
I can accommodate anyone from singles to groups of 6.
I also offer single room rental, on a separate listing.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Old Fourth Ward is, in real estate terms, 'hot, hot hot'! It is central to all the neighborhoods in Atlanta, right next to all the major sporting and conference events, and incredible walkable to restaurants, bars, green space, and the Beltline. You couldn't get a better location for all your needs in Atlanta!
There is a Marta station 1.2 miles from the house (King Memorial Station), a bus stop two houses away. The easiest and cheapest way to move around is through Uber, where a car is never more than 1-2 minutes from the house. There is also a parking pad off the street for your car.
Hi there! House rules are pretty simple!
Rule number one: All visitors or guests to the home must be booked as members of the party. No one is allowed on the property- even to visit- without prior approval.
Check-in: Give me a call or communicate via airbnb in advance of your visit to communicate check-in time. I will leave a key in the LOCKBOX on the front porch. The code is 4627. Once you line up the numbers, pull the silver tab down and out. Once you enter the house, there will be keys on the table to use during your stay. Please put the key back in the lockbox and swirl the numbers.
Check-out: I like to meet my guests for check-out, but if that's not possible, just leave the keys on the dining room table, and make sure the original key is in the lockbox. Thanks!
Parking: There is a parking pad on the right side of the home for one car. You can also park on McGruder Street, as well as on Randolph St, both across the street from my house. Please observe the parking signs.
Thermostat: It is on a program that works for most people. Feel free to turn the temp up or down at your leisure. But please be considerate!
Cleaning: I charge a small cleaning fee, just for deep cleaning (I do the rest). Because the fee is small, I just ask that my guests put their trash in the bins, dishes in the dishwasher, and sheets in the laundry room.
Kitchen: Help yourself to anything in kitchen! Including any food or beverages, condiments, coffee, creamer, cooking oil, etc.
Bathrooms: I set out fresh towels in each bedroom for the guests. Additional towels and linens are in the linen closet on the first floor. Extra toilet paper and paper towels are in the laundry room. Most guests bring their own shampoo/ conditioner, but you can also use the toiletries in the showers.
Security: Make sure to lock up the house when you leave (doors and windows). Sometimes guests forget to lock the back door, so double-check! I've never had a security incident of any kind.
Noise: I love for guests to enjoy my back patio. However, I do not allow outside parties after midnight. I have a neighbor with a newborn, and I need to be respectful.
That's it! I hope you have a terrific stay.
Alex was a phenomenal host. She was responsive in her emails prior to our visit and accomodated us in her 2nd airbnb next door when the 1st became unavailable. It was an even nicer property! The home is amazing.
We were a group of 6 in town for a conference and the layout was perfect. We were able to hangout in living area together and each couple had their own space. The home was recently renovated and Alex has exceptional taste. The home was very clean and the linens provided were of good to great quality.
We were within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and a cheap Uber trip anywhere else. Alex left a note with recommendations that were spot on. This was our first airbnb experience and I can't say enough good things about the host, home and overall experience.
Very spacious house, especially the upstairs master suite, and nice back yard. Location is perfect for visiting MLK birth home, church, etc and the Historic Auburn Ave.
Clean and comfortable.
This is a beautiful house in an amazing neighborhood! Everything is impeccably decorated, yet it feels very much like a home. The master suite is absurdly awesome. The master shower, especially the water pressure, is fantastic; one of the best showers ever. The location is walking distance to a lot of great shops and restaurants. It is also a very convenient Uber pickup location.
I recommend this house very highly. Next time we return to Atlanta, we would love to stay again!
What a great place! So convenient to restaurants, bars and the most awesome Krog St Market. The house was exactly as listed- clean and comfortable. The small backyard was perfect for our little family- we really enjoyed the patio area as the weather was glorious during our stay. We had no issues while at the home so our contact with Alexandra was limited. The little bit of communication we did have was great. Would definitely recommend this place.
Our experience was AMAZING! Alexandra did a fantastic job to help make our stay memorable. I would recommend her and her space to anyone!
Alexandra's home was WONDERFUL. What a welcome respite after days of hard work. Every room is as described/pictured, and the master bedroom is SUCH a treat! It even has its own private deck! The house is immaculate, too.
In terms of Alexandra's hosting, she is amazing: Prior to the trip, I asked where I might find an iron (the laundry room, duh). She actually set it out for me so it would be easy to find. She also left us a nice little card with tourist tips, along with amazing popcorn and a bottle of wine.
I cannot recommend Alexandra's home enough. I want to live there.
Our family had a lovely time in Atlanta and the home provided a welcome respite. Though the house is on a busy street, the noise level was not excessive and when inside, you were undisturbed. We walked around the neighborhood observing the history and found the people we met friendly. The temperature dropped but we were still able to enjoy the front porch outdoor area. We look forward to visiting again and will consider renting the home.

Hello! I am a professional in global health, and have lived in Atlanta for five years. I love in-town Atlanta, with its eclectic restaurants, coffee shops, art shows, and range of parks and green spaces all nearby. I am friendly, mature, and responsible- I take excellent care of home and my airbnb guests! I love meeting new visitors, and helping them find all the nearby eateries and entertainment.
