About this listing
My lovely 1-bedroom flat is on the 2nd floor with a large terrace directly overlooking the Grand Union Canal in Maida Vale. This area is known as Little Venice with its waterways and houseboats and is amazingly peaceful, despite its central location.
The owner is a real foodie and the kitchen has been recently done up with wooden worktops, a great gas range and oven, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and a sweet breakfast bar area. The large, south-facing living room has lovely dark wooden floorboards, a very comfortable king-size sofabed and bi-fold doors that open out to the 10m2 terrace, ideal for breakfast with the ducks, or barbeques and drinks in the evening sun!
The bathroom with shower/bathtub and heated towel-rail has been newly renovated, and the calm, white-painted bedroom boasts a stunning solid mahogany 19th-century French sleigh bed. There are drawers in the bedroom for your clothes and a small amount of hanging storage space.
I don't have a TV, but there's high-speed broadband internet with wifi and a 24" monitor too if you fancy a night in watching a film.
The whole flat will be yours during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
If I'm in town I'll be delighted to meet you in person, otherwise I'll leave the keys at a local shop for you to pick up. I'm always just a text, email or phone call away!
There are several great restaurants and pubs, as well as shops and supermarkets, within easy walking distance. Check out my Guidebook!
Famous Portobello Road market is 20 minutes' walk or a short cab ride away.
Canal boat tours along picturesque Regent's Canal leave every hour to world famous London Zoo and Camden Market.
Warwick Avenue station is less than 5 minutes walk away and Paddington Station (and the Heathrow Express) a 12-minute stroll along the canal. I'll also give you the numbers for the local discount taxi company. A black cab to or from central London should cost around £20 - £25.
Smoking is fine on the terrace, but please dispose of your cigarette butts and don't leave them in the plant pots - thanks.
