About This Listing

My lovely 1-bedroom flat is on the 2nd floor with a large terrace directly overlooking the Grand Union Canal in Maida Vale. This area is known as Little Venice with its waterways and houseboats and is amazingly peaceful, despite its central location.

Fabulous location and mostly good food. Drinks are expensive though. Come here to see and be seen!

  • The Summerhouse

Beautiful spot to eat right on the water - the restaurant is actually a canal boat. Food is good but expensive.

  • Prince Alfred

Quite the most unusually beautiful pub Ive ever seen. Food is highly recommended and good value, and the service is friendly.

  • The Warwick Castle

Lovely traditional pub with a relaxed atmosphere, great music, friendly staff, fabulous fish chips, and several tables out on the pavement to enjoy your pint on one of the prettiest streets around.

Fantastic Persian restaurant. Highly recommended!! The little terrace area downstairs is heated so that you can eat outside in the evenings.

Beautiful canal-boat café with decent coffee, home-made cakes and muffins, and grilled panini. Seating outside and in (where youre at duck level).

  • Clifton Road Shops

Great bakery/café with free wifi, fantastic organic butcher, huge greengrocer, florist, hairdresser, dry cleaners, Tesco Express, a nice pub, cashpoint, Indian takeaway, etc. All 15 mins walk away.

  • The Union Tavern

Fantastic pub a 10-min walk away along the canal. London-brewed beers, great atmosphere, brilliant food (they have their own smoker!!) and really friendly, nice service. Wednesdays all burgers are £5!

  • Beany Green

Fabulous, friendly Australian café with great coffee, fresh squeezed juices, delicious sandwiches, salads and cakes, and a pimped-up motorcycle rocking horse in the window.

  • Pearl Liang

Chinese restaurant. I ate here once and found the atmosphere rather stuffy and formal, however it gets rave reviews on the internet...

I love this Japanese lunch takeaway chain. Sushi is always fresh and the miso and salads are delicious.

  • Italian Pizza Connection

Highly, highly recommended pizza. Tell Tony that Kate, Jonathan and especially Alex (our 12 year old) sent you! Wonderful crispy bases and delicious toppings on pizzas the size of flying saucers.

Small supermarket with cashpoint machine on the way to/from Paddington Station.

  • Four Seasons

A Chinese institution in London (theres one in Chinatown too, but this is the original), the Four Seasons is famed for its crispy duck. Oh, and for its extremely bossy head waitress! Expect to queue.

The Quince Tree cafe in the garden centre is pretty and makes very good coffee. My choice for a takeaway flat-white on my way to Warwick Avenue station.
