Cozy Sugarhouse Bungalow

House - Private room · Alden Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84106, United States

Stay seconds away from some of Salt Lake's finest restaurants, venues, and hot spots in this gorgeous private room, located just off I-80 in the heart of Sugarhouse. Easy access to Downtown SLC, Park City, U of U, and more!

The Space

Full of warmth and energy, you can expect a low-key vibe, clean floors, and good food when you're here. Often, the house is buzzing with kids you'll immediately like. On other days, it's quiet and calm. Always, we strive to create a space you'll feel at home in from start to finish.

Guest Access

While here, you're welcome to cook in the kitchen, join us for dinner (as a recipe developer, I've always got something new coming out of the oven!), and wash clothes in the washer & dryer.

The restroom has a bath/shower, sink, and toilet. Please feel free to run yourself a bath on a cold, winter night. We want you to feel at home!

Interaction with Guests

We're friendly and flexible! The house can be hopping with activity, but some weekends are quiet and kid-free. Please let us know if you want to hang out, join us for parties, or prefer privacy. We're happy to cater to what you need!

The Neighborhood

Tree-lined, quirky, and full of beautiful surprises (like fine Italian, patio dining just down the street!) this neighborhood sits just off of the interstate, making it absurdly easy to get wherever you need to go...but once you drive down our street, you'll feel like you're home. This neighborhood is the best kept secret in Salt Lake City!

Getting around

Bus stop just around the corner from the house (less than a half-block away) will get you straight to the TRAX system and Frontline train. Less than a half-mile walk to Sugarhouse main including Sugarhouse Park, Whole Foods, Omar's Rawtopia, Nordstrom Rack, and Movies 10.

  • Brooke and her four wonderful kids were an absolute delight to stay with. They are all wonderful conversationalists and make you feel right at home. The space is bright, clean and super fun and the beds are comfy. We were in late and out early but the small time we shared in this cozy sugarhouse bungalow was fantastic!!

  • This room was lovely! Beyond being a really rad person to hang out with, Brooke is a warm, caring, accommodating, and knowledgable host. I was in SLC for a week to meet clients, and Brooke drew a custom map for me to guide me with things to see and do in SLC on my days off. She's also an recipe developer, and I got to taste some great things from her kitchen :-) The apartment is a perfect place to stay if you're visiting SLC - it's on a cozy street, a 10-minute drive away from downtown and near many beautiful places to hike.

  • brooke was accommodating, flexible and ever so bright! while our itineraries were full, our short interactions were of value and substance.

from local museums and dry cleaners to the whittling street philosopher, you can sense brooke interacts positively with all peoples as she does with her guests.

the room was as pictured holding more charm than described. even the towels we forgot were provided, heavenly laundered, folded and waiting.

first of many airbnb travels to come.

  • Staying at the sugar house bungalow was a joy. Brooke is a great host, flexible and fun. The home is located on a charming little street, close to groceries & shopping. I would definitely stay with Brooke and her kiddos again!

  • Our stay in SLC couldn't have been better mostly due to Brooke's warm heart. The house is super and Brooke made sure our stay would be memorable. Indeed we left with a few more friends in our pocket. "You don't choose places, places choose you." nothing more to add here. Hope to see all the McLays soon.

  • Brooke is the best host you can imagine! She welcomed us in her house with her warm heart, beautiful smile and hospitality. We felt like home staying with her and really enjoyed the time spent in Salt Lake City.
The house is cosy with warm atmosphere.
We strongly recommend having Brooke as a host and the place as well :)

  • Brooke is warm, welcoming, and such fun! Her lovely, adorably styled Sugar House bungalow makes a perfect launchpad for exploring the neighborhood, downtown SLC, and Park City, too— which is just 30 minutes away. She had coffee and kind advice to offer in the morning, and she was in touch and totally flexible with my late arrival times in the evening. Wonderful stay in a lovely locale, with a lovely person. Highly, highly recommended!

  • Definitely my best experience with Airbnb so far! And I've stayed in quite a few Airbnb rooms. Brooke is just such a natural host; full of advice and generous with her delicious cooking. My son and I stayed for a week on a ski trip that was our first visit to Utah. Between the superb skiing at Alta, Brighton, Solitude, and Snowbird (all just a half-hour drive from Brooke's house) and the many great restaurants that we tried on her recommendation, we are definitely coming back!

  • Brooke was amazing. She left the door open for us and came out to meet us with a warm breakfast before we hit the road. I highly recommend staying with her...also she is an open door of knowledge so please take the time to have a cup of coffee with her.

  • Second to skiing at Alta, staying with Brooke was the highlight of our trip! She was a fantastic host - she made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great advice on things to do around SLC. Such a fun & open family environment! Very cozy house, great neighborhood.
