House is in Orahovac, which is situated in one of the coves of Bokakotorska bay. Twenty small pebble beaches will provide you with a unique preasure. They are ideal for children as depth of the sea is slowly getting deeper as you enter into it. Plenty of fresh water sources guaranty clean sea. Therefore, water salinity is also minimal.
Orahovac also offers plenty of activities. One of them is fishing with the locals and helping them pull the net out of sea (don’t be surprised if they fill your bag with the fish as an act of appreciation).
For soccer, volleyball and basketball fans, there is small playground protected with the fence. There is also a water-polo pool if you would like to try this sport.
High mountain peaks that are part of Lovcen - the highest mountain in Montenegro - start to raise just above the house. The mountain range provides plenty of hiking paths as well as old Austro-Hungarian roads, fortifications, caves, and abandoned villages.
The most popular tourist attraction is a 13th century Orthodox church. It is built on a rock and has unique viewpoint at Bokakotorska bay. In Orahovac there are three beach bars as well as the famous fish restaurant “Stari Mlini”. Together with welcoming residents it will make your holiday pleasant and unforgettable.
If you like night life, Kotor, historical town 8 km away is offering pleanty clubs, restaurants and caffes. Public transportation is regular. Cost about 1e in one direction.
If you choose to return by taxi, it will cost you around 6e.
I came to Orahovac with a whole bunch of (website hidden) was 11 of us and the house was perfect for it...I can't say enough about Ivankas mom and grandma whom were trying to make our stay as pleasant as possible...there were some initial problems with wifi and tv which was all fixed during our stay.the beach is near-by,literally stairs down and there you (website hidden) provides privacy and tranquility that I was looking for.
Cons:bring your own beach towels since the house does not provide for it,I did expect the sheets to be changed at least once during our stay,it did not happened .
I would definitely recommend the house to anybody who wants to enjoy peace and quiet, yet if they want to venture into life night Kotor is only 8 km away and they can enjoy it...while you there don't skip to visit Stari Mlin,an excellent restaurant with great fresh catch of the day
Orahovac is the most incredibly beautiful location!!! Away from the tourist swarms in Kotor and naturally stunning. Ivana's place is perfectly situated right by the water and a few fantastic beach bars/ restaurant. Perfect. Ivana's mum was an incredible host and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant. Is worth travelling there during the day tho as was a tad hard to find. Also, a few things need fixing, such as the front door locks! Although we were reassured that Orahovac is very safe. :)
