Off-the-grid primitive campsite. As seen on Nat Geo, "Badlands Texas," which highlighted my new business, "Tin Valley Retro Rentals." Located near the National & State Park, along with the art and culture scene. You will love Tin Valley because of 90 private acres against the mountains, with the solitude, and the magnitude of stars & milky way directly overhead. Great for couples, solo adventurers, families, and fur babies.

Other things to note

Not to discourage you from booking but please be aware that this campsite is a self check-in site and there are certain guidelines to follow so that I can continue to keep the rates as low as they are. PLEASE clean the campsite before you leave. This means sweeping, throwing away trash, making bed, cleaning out fire pit, stacking outdoor chairs next to fire pit (or they will blow away), picking up any trash that may have blown into bushes nearby, and raking entire site. Close all windows (dirt & rain). Clean off picnic table and make sure no food stains are left on it. Your goal is to leave this campsite cleaner than when you arrived so that it is ready for the next guests to arrive. Please assist in keeping everyone's vacation experience the best it can be. And again, by helping out this will keep the rates down. Thank you so much!

Please leave your campsite as clean or cleaner than when you arrive.
Broom is provided to sweep before leaving, rake is provided to rake area, and trash can is provided to throw away your trash.
Please be thoughtful of the guest arriving after you leave. The way to keep the rental cost down is to help keep the sites clean.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: They certainly are. Please note: you are responsible for your pet. Any damage to an RV or campsite, from your pet, will result in a $50 cleaning/repair charge. This applies to both material damage that requires repair and special cleaning to remove pet hair, urine, feces, vomit, or odor.

Please NO loud music from any radio source. We love that our guests can experience the silence of the desert during their stay. Now with that being said we love if you are a musician and would like to play/sing. Your music being played would make everyone's stay even more magical.

We had an amazing time at Ronda's place. This review is for the red triangle (open space) spot. Ronda's directions were spot on and Tin Valley was a quaint and SAFE community to stay in. Ronda kept the porta-potty EXTREMELY clean at all times, including thoughtful touches like extra toilet paper and febreze. There is a sink and a shower - though it was very cold, we did use the sink for dishes and brushing teeth, etc. The community was very quiet - even though voices tend to carry and echo in the desert, we never stayed up because of noise. Folks staying there were polite and Ronda had wood for bonfire on sale at a reasonable price (which was very, very convenient for us). Overall, this definitely exceeded my expectations and we will definitely be back if we return down to Big Bend!

Magical. If you're looking to get away for a bit and enjoy the outdoors, this is the place. I slept in one of the tin tepees and it was awesome. You could see every star at night. I recommend stopping at the bad rabbit cafe for dinner or breakfast. I would go in there for dinner after riding trails all day. The most friendly folks I've ever met!! Ronda was helpful with directions on how to get to the park (big bend) ž

Highly recommend camping or staying in one of the cute RVs at Tin Valley. We stayed at a campsite and had space to set up our own tent (although one is provided if you don't have a tent). Campsite had great views and was covered in stars at night. Clean, artsy, friendly vibe. Meeting Ronda and hearing entertaining stories about Terlingua was an added treat.

"Tin Valley Retro Rentals" is a dream come true, by creating a unique environment of overnight vintage rv rentals, in the middle of the desert. "Tin Valley" is also part of a recent documentary that aired on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, called "Badlands, Texas." (8 episodes)
