Romi, Joey & their 2 daughters were so welcoming. At one point I was showing some pictures on my laptop in the kitchen and before I knew it Lily was sitting on one of my knees & Emi was on the other. I like kids and it just made me feel part of the family that much more. Joey was fantastic in getting out the tourist maps they have & marked out some local places not so much on the tourist circuit!! Romi made tea right away and I picked from their wall of teas. She even let me do some laundry. The only con was that I was only in Dublin for 3 nights
It was perfect!
I love this house and family.
Romi and Joey were absolutely amazing hosts! Simply above and beyond. It is more than just a place to stay, if is a home away from home. They provide you with everything you need and more, and genuinely care about you as if you are apart of the family. They are around for any questions you may have. They are just a short bus ride to Temple Bar, a bike ride to the beach, and a short walk a way from the grocery store and bars. I was able to experience everything I wanted to while I was there, and they never ceased to amaze me with their kindness. Romi stayed up late helping me with flight issues, and even woke up with me in the mornings when my taxi came (of which they are more than happy to call for you). The love they have for those who visit, their down to earth character, and genuine knowledge of the world will amaze you. It's hard to find someone that reflects all that is right in the world; maintaining the ability to have an open mind when conversing, remain utterly approachable, and has some amazing advice to give and learn from. I will never forget my visit here, and am so grateful I had the opportunity to be welcomed into this home. Trust me, you will regret NOT staying with them. Beautiful family. Can't wait to come back!
It was a great pleasure to stay with Romi, Joey and to two lovely girls Emi and Lily! It couldn't have been greater! :-) they are very kind, open minded and always there for a good insider tip! I'm looking forward to staying with you all again! Stay save. Big hugs from Tralee! Anna Sophie
Staying with Romi and Joey was like visiting family or good friends- they are warm, welcoming, and so kind and their home is very cozy. There is privacy in your room, but if you want to socialize they make you part of their family. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and far enough from the city to have some peace, but very close and easy to get to, as is the airport. This was my first booking on airbnb, and now I am a believer! It was a better experience than I could have imagined. My first day, Joey gave me a map of Dublin and marked different restaurants to try based on what I told him I liked and gave me a mini Irish history lesson and what to find in different parts of the city, which was so very helpful. Their girls are curious and sweet and would love to get you to jump on their trampoline if you are able and have the time. Romi and I put together a dollhouse the night before I went up to Belfast and stayed up way too late talking and drinking tea, and although I didn't get nearly enough sleep it was completely worth the next day's exhaustion. They are truly amazing people. After touring all around Ireland and the North, this was my favorite place by far and my favorite people that I've met on my almost 3 week journey.
I spent three wonderful weeks in Romis, Joeys, Emis and Lilis place. They made me feel at home. My bedspread was changed every week and Romi did my laundry when ever I needed it to be washed. They have a wide range of healthy food and more than hundred different teas you can take for your breakfast. Their kids are two lively sunshines. I really recommend this place to everyone who likes to be around people. You will also get the chance to get to know other visitors form all over the world.
Staying with Joey and Romi was the ideal choice for me while working at DCU. The house is a short 20 minute walk from campus and about 25 minutes to the city or airport by bus. Joey and Romi are considerate and generous hosts, and they are full of helpful advice.
The house was as expected from the listing, the two young girls are very nice and easy to have around.
I would happily recommend to anyone.
Romi, Joey and the girls were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The house is lovely and close to public transport, which takes you into the centre of Dublin really easily. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and the other guests in the house, chatting over tea and chocolate, watching youtube videos and movies in the lounge, and just having a nice time. They were super accommodating to awkward check in and check out times, as well as everything else. I had a lovely stay with these guys, and only wish I could've gotten to know them better!
I stayed for one night only, and it was a very successful arrangement. Getting there was straightforward, and the hosts were friendly and welcoming, chatty and helpful. It definitely was a 'family home' experience, as the 2 young children were a big presence ! The Do-It -Yourself food is a good idea too really, as it gives you complete freedom to eat etc. when it's convenient for yourself. Proximity of bus routes is a definite bonus. Romi very kindly carried my keyboard from the house to the bus-stop ; also a Huge Bonus, grazie mille !! MarieO'Reilly.
Because my travel plans were a bit awkward, I ended up having to make a few separate bookings with Romi and Joey but it was pretty much for one stay - like I said before though, great stay, amazing people, would definitely recommend! x
