  • I booked Rose's guest studio for my parents while they were visiting Portland.
Rose was a very gracious host, and made my parents feel very welcome and comfortable. The studio is very tidy, cozy, and comfortable, and it's perfectly located, just blocks from all of Sellwood's shops and cafes. I would recommend this listing to anyone staying in Sellwood. Rose is a fantastic host.

  • We enjoyed Rose's hospitality and neighborhood walks when Sellwood was lush with spring. She is an excellent host, her guest studio worked for us, and we hope to return.

  • We had an amazing time staying at Rose’s house in Sellwood. This was our second time visiting Portland, and we needed a home base so we could conveniently scout out places to live when move there. Rose was very accommodating in every way from giving us fresh coffee and cookies to good ideas of places to go and things to see. This is the first time we have ever used airbnb and it was a great all around experience. We highly recommend Rose’s Guest Studio - thanks for the great trip!

  • rose's place is in the heart of the lovely sellwood neighborhood (the sushi truck is a must-try). the apt itself is clean, spacious, and comfortable (a real, comfy bed). Rose is a great host - social, easy going and informative. all in all - i had a fantastic stay!

  • Rose met me upon arrival and explained the "in's and out's" of the guest space. Very comfortable! I slept like a rock which is unusual. I love the Sellwood/Moreland neighborhood, it's a great walking area.

  • I felt comfortable and slept soundly in Rose's basement apartment during my entire stay in Portland. If you're a cyclist like me, her place is perfectly situated for excursions into downtown (The Pearl District, Chinese Gardens, Pub Hoping, Riverside Parks). The Springwater trail, runs parallel to the Willamette River and is flat and well paved for street bikes From the Springwater bike trail you can cross comfortably on the Hawthorne Bridge right into downtown. All in all the ride is about five miles, so is doable in about half an hour. Public Transit is also easy, with the 19 and 70 buses traveling often into downtown. Use transit if you plan to go into Washington Park (Japanese Gardens, Rose Gardens) The roads in Washington Park are narrow and the hills are steep.

Rose's apartment was clean, with plenty of space. The bathroom is newly remodeled and the private entry is convenient. Downtown Sellwood is a great place to walk around with several quality Restaurants on 13th, a good food market just down the street, and several antique and craft shops to visit.

Rose is a great host. I would highly recommend her basement apt. for anyone vacationing or visiting family in Portland.

  • We booked Rose's guest suite for our elderly parents. They have some mobility issues. The suite is accessible with a good railing and 5 wide steps to enter. The bathroom has a nice walk in shower with a seat and hand held shower. The feedback we got from our parents was that one side of the bed was against the wall and difficult for them to get into the bed not having access to both sides. Rose was an excellent host, really attentive to their needs. It was great having our parents 3 blocks from our house, walking distance to everything. They loved the fresh baked cookies, the iced tea and the fruit! Rose made sure they had their beverages of choice in the morning as well. We would definitely have family members stay with Rose in the future!!

I am thrilled to welcome new friends to my home. I have been in the travel/tourism business for years. I lived in Santa Fe, NM; Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona; San Diego and Los Angeles California; Racine, Wisconsin and Pensacola, Florida. I found a home in Oregon and moved here in 1997 discovering all of what I enjoyed in other places I've lived. I am an advocate for Oregon through my work and my hobbies. I enjoy seeing others discover the beauties of Oregon, especially of my friendly neighborhood. Sellwood is a great place to walk and discover the quaint Portland antique shops or to dine Al fresco at the neighborhood food carts and a variety of wonderful restaurants. Since I love to travel. I am always looking for great places to visit and I have traveled to many countries over the years. Another reason I welcome people from near and far.
