Getting around

Right three blocks away, you will find sufficient local public transportation to the major destinations in the city. You can take a taxi from the International Airport and ask for a place SIPHAL. Please follow a bill board "Paradise English School" From the water tank, turn left to the street called Pannahiti Marg- a steep road towards west, my house is just three blocks away in the right. You can get sufficient city and micro buses to Thamel ( a touristic area for hangouts). Likewise, a minute walk- plenty of taxis in the taxi stand is waiting on the corner of the Football Ground.Easily accessible any time with taxi in my house.

  • The 3 night stay my wife and I had with Pawan and Shila was fantastic, they were lovely and extremely accommodating. Pawan's knowledge of Nepal and all things great and small, and his willing to share it makes for a very easy stay, especially if visiting Nepal for the first time, no task seems too much trouble, he even walked us up to the main road so he could help us catch the local bus to our next destination. His place is located in a quiet neighborhood and only a short walk to one of the largest Temples in Kathmandu. It is also only a short taxi ride into Thame the busy tourist shopping center and there is always a taxi available around the corner. His daughter and nieces were also lovely and a pleasure to talk to, we will definitely be back. Thank you for everything Pawan, Shila and family for accepting us so warmly.

  • It was a great pleasure to meet Pawan and his family. Altho the place isnt in the centre (we knew that before) i would def recommend!
We had two wonderful nights and Pawan helped us with all the information we needed. He even borrowed us his stuff for the trekking!
We are lucky to come back :)

  • Pawan and his beautiful family were very welcoming and friendly. I arrived at Kathmandu late at night, his wife took me in and made me feel at ease immediately in the foreign land. They took care of everything and made sure I was warm and fed. Also the location is great- its very near to the main road where taxis and buses can be found, and the rooms very clean and comfortable. Pawan himself is a very experienced traveller and is a great person to talk to.

I'm so glad I chose your house Pawan, I will definitely come back if I ever visit Kathmandu again! Thank you so, so much!

  • Pawan was away during my stay, but he was incredibly helpful leading up to my visit. His family was so hospitable and kind - I had a great time at their home! Shila and her niece and daughter took great care of me, always making sure I was warm and comfortable. I enjoyed each day with them.

The location was nice, with buses and taxis only a few hundred feet away. I felt safe walking alone in their neighborhood and met very friendly people each time I ventured out.

A wonderful experience - I hope to visit and stay with Pawan and Shila again - and I highly recommend their place to others!

  • coming into Kathmandu many prior conceptions were shattered. Envisioning a sunny mountain idyllic paradise town was replaced by the reality of a dusty polluted quite chaotic third world city, but once we met Pawan and entered his him, Kathmandu and it's richness opened itself to us! Such a warm gracious, generous, knowledgeable host! Much thanks!!!!
    Namaste~

  • Fantastic! Pawan and his family were very friendly and his house is very nice. It is located very close to the airport and is also walking distance to many of Kathmandu's attractions. From his roof, you can see Langtang peak and a large portion of the city. I had no itinerary planned when I arrived and Pawan helped me figure out how to make the most of my short stay in Kathmandu, he even arranged for one of his friends to drive me around and show me the area. I would definitely recommend staying here and hopefully I will be lucky enough to come back to Nepal someday and stay with Pawan and his family again!
