KIDS: Not toddler-proof due to a semi-open stairway. Good for infants or ages 4 & up.
MOBILITY: 2nd floor with no elevator.
SMOKING: No smoking of any kind please.
The flat is yours exclusively during your stay, however please - no extra guests, parties, events etc. Your hardwood floors are the ceiling of my flat below. Your hostess welcomes the sounds of little feet pitter pattering on her head... but not the stumbling of drunken parties :)
I don't hear day to day noises, but 2 sounds do seem to echo down as if through a speaker - hard shoes & loud bass from music. Care with those 2 are greatly appreciated (tennis shoes good - high heels & men's dress shoes are quite loud).
If you have any questions while you are here - feel free to text. And I'm around if you need anything like "can we get more towels?" or "where is the can opener?"
-1/2 block to 2 Groceries: Organic Co-op or Large & Cheap.
-0-3 blocks: many restaurants, cafes & food truck court, comfy pub with board games & pool table.
-Walk to hip, cool stuff in the Mission.
--Bus to Fisherman's Wharf - 1 block.
--Underground to everywhere, 3 blocks.
San Francisco's tourist areas are scattered around and the house is central so it's easy to get to whatever you want.
Many of the startup incubators are within walking distance as is the Design Center. Moscone Center is a 10 min bus ride or 25 min walk.
PARKING: Street parking is relatively easy, but FYI, 50% is restricted to 2 hours M-Sat 9-6.
NOTE: I strongly suggest you NOT rent a car in SF, but only rent a car for the days you go out to Napa etc. Driving here is confusing & difficult and parking is expensive -- it's like driving in Paris or London.

Wonderful flat in an amazing old building. The hosts are super responsive and helpful, and they provided everything we could have wanted for our stay, including towels, fresh bedsheets, toiletries, free coffee, and a very helpful folder with information on the building, local restaurants, supermarkets etc. The area is really awesome - not too built up or crowded, but with a number of cool cafes and bars nearby, and an easy walk to the Mission or Financial District. Some people had told us beforehand that area to the north east (i.e. south of Market St on the way to the Financial District), could be dangerous, but it seems it has changed a lot in the last couple of years and is no longer really a problem at all (unless you are particularly terrified of hipster coffee shops...). So basically, this place is awesome - one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Highly recommended!
Naomi and Eric's place was fantastic. Every time I came back from a long day of work I felt like home. The house is cozy and warm and it has everything I needed for my trip. The bed is great and the fresh towels and bathrobe made me feel pampered. Also the location is excellent to explore the restaurant and bars nearby. 110% recommended!!
Naomi was always super responsive and helpful. The location was very convenient near an awesome organic cooperative grocery. And it sounds small, but I loved that the bathroom was stocked with high quality towels and toiletries. It's an old house, so don't be surprised by creaky floors, noisy door handles, and chilly air (though the bedroom was toasty).
Very unique space. Loved it. Close to restaurants and transit. If you want a unique loft style space to stay in San Francisco... you found it. I highly recommend it!
Naomi was a great host and the house is full of nice and comfortable details. The system to check in is really well thought.
The place was quite cold, but we knew about this.
The street where is located is not cute but as it is in the middle of all the famous neighbourhoods, it is in a strategic location.
Thanks for this beautiful days in San Francisco!
Was in town for a business conference that was taking place at the Moscone Center. Was a very easy commute! Overall place was very cozy and Naomi provided myself and my coworker with everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely recommend.
Great flat in a good part of town. Easy access to buses to everywhere. Naomi was a great host, able to help even while she was halfway around the world. We enjoyed the streatfood Park and other cafés in the area (esp. pinkie's cafe/citizen band restaurant).
What a wonderful stay.
A holiday of firsts - first time in San Francisco and first time using Airbnb. Both experiences for myself and my 12-year-old son were great.
The Painted Lady is truly charming, spacious and comfortable.
It is also an excellent base to explore the city.
Bart is a ten-minute walk, buses are nearby.
There are also two food stores within five minutes as well as reasonable neighborhood restaurants.
In less than ten minutes your are in the thick of the vibrant Mission St and the dandified Valencia St.
The host Naomi was a delight.
She ensured booking, arrival and settling in was a breeze.
Any question I had about restaurants, travel and other miscellaneous nonsense tourists ask you were answered promptly and without fuss.
She kindly provided information about her delightful home, practical details such as where to eat locally. And free coffee!
Great little place, easily enough room for me and two friends and we were able to all have a bed each.
Great location too!
Nice place, decently-located in the city, not far from public transit. The bathroom has an "interesting" colour scheme and the floors were creaky (it's a 100-year old house!) but that's the worse that I can say about it, because otherwise, it was great! Naomi was communicative before and during my stay, and so I don't hesitate to recommend it.
