For kayakers, island baggers, hill walkers, not suitable for car or public transport travellers due both to unmodernised bothy and 8 mile walk in from nearest road and the Ulva ferry (usually 9-5 M-F in summer (not Saturday, and Sunday only in July and August); and at 9 and 3.30 M-F only on school term days in winter). Ulva Ferry Community Bus runs on some days from Salen to Ulva Ferry - please see their website. Almost always has cold running water, hot water & heat only from solid fuel stove.
