Escape to this historic mansion on the Hudson. Canoeing, volleyball or just playing with the kids. Bask in a private retreat and its 200 year history -- with 1.7 acres to relax on.

Built by oilcloth tycoon-philanthropist Deborah Powers, said to be the richest woman in the US in the day.

Peebles island State Park is 4 mins away. Lively, historic downtown Troy is 6 mins. Wine bars, award-winning farmer's market and game cafe await!

The space
This is the only residential property in urban Troy to have two acres of lawn on the Hudson. Built in 1810, it is an extremely well preserved colonial style home perfect for gatherings of family and friends.

This is a six bedroom home. Four of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, one of them has two fold down couches that become doubles, and the last small bedroom has one single bed.

There are four full bathrooms with tubs and showers, and there is also a half bath.

There are two full kitchens as well, at opposite ends of the house.

One of bedroom and bathroom en-suites has its own wheelchair accessible entrance and the bathroom meets ADA specifications.

We have bicycles courtesy of the local Troy Bike Rescue (you can use or buy them and take them home!) and we have two old school aluminum canoes that you can use to paddle the river out front.

There is a big enclosed porch for summer gatherings, and we offer badminton and volleyball nets for the lawn.

There are six parking spots on the property and there is limitless parking on the street.

The Powers House is about a six minute urban drive to the the shops and restaurants of downtown Troy.

Guest access
Guests can use the entire property.

Other things to note
Please note that although this is a beautiful historic home with a huge yard, it is in urban North Troy. This is not a rural estate, it is right on one of the main roads running though the city of Troy, so you can hear some automobiles and city sounds at night.
