  • The place was a bit smaller than I expected but it was very nice and cozy. We stayed in the front part of the house and we were there in the winter but the temperature in the house was nice and warm. There's a heater in the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked with basic utensils and kitchenware so it made cooking during new years eve(when everything is closed) much easier. We didn't go hungry that night.

One thing that I had a hard time with was getting the hot water running. I like to shower at night but it was so cold at night that it took a while for the hot water to get started.

But other than that, the host was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions we had. The location of the house is great because there are plenty of grocery stores nearby (Trader Joe's, Vons, etc) and plenty of plazas to walk around. It was a short 10-20 minute drive from SLO so it made it convenient to go explore the city and super close to the beach (not walking distance though).

  • Cozy little place with all you need for a nice stop on the central coast. We didn't get to meet Juliet in person, but everything was ready for us when we arrived and she was very friendly over text!

  • We did not meet Juliet at all but that was fine because we checked in rather late. It was hard to find the house's unit number but thank god for helpful neighbours. The house's front door is blocked and we access through the side door. The backyard door couldn't be locked and was left open, it kinda felt unsafe. Description of surroundings: dead grass, low porch lights, cobwebs in and outside of house. We were greeted with 4 small fish tanks, children's halloween ceramics, pumpkins at the door, welcome gift basket with breakfast drinks in the house, cupboards littered with personal belongings, mostly children's stuff that were veiled by curtains. One of the rooms was locked. We spend the night watching a DVD movie on the computer (Juliet's), there were action, comedy, and children's movies. Crank up the heater at night as it gets chilly.

    Response from Juliet:

I am so sorry I was unable to meet you Andrea, you arrived much later than you originally stated, so I did leave a key for you! I left a key for you under the door where you parked your car, I'm sorry you didn't use the key to open that door, the other door that you tried to open is blocked off, it's around the side of the house with no key under it, and no one ever uses it (there is also a note for clarification), my apologies!

We did decorate the house for Halloween, I'm sorry that upset you. Yes, we do have two fish, each in a separate small fish tank. I rent the house as a one bedroom, so I can close and lock the other bedroom door with our personal items. The backyard door is closed with just a small hook, we never feel unsafe. We have a heater because, as you mentioned, it does get a bit chilly at night, but the house is small and it heats up in about 2 minutes!

I hope you enjoyed the wine and treats! The small town is full of fun activities, I left a basket with lots of ideas. I have a few movies to watch on the big screen computer as well, I'm glad you were able to find one you liked!

  • The house cottage was a pleasant stay, we stayed there one night on our way to LA from SF. We didnt had the chance to meet Juliet, but the directions were great so every thing went well, Easy access to the ocean and cottage is simple and comfortable.

  • My boyfriend and I just spend one night in Juliet's beach cottage. But not because we didn't like it - it was a perfect stop on our trip along the West coast!
There is absolutely enough space for two people. The bed - which is in fact a thick mattress - was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed for a good breakfast. Juliet even offers coffee and tea to make sure that you can start your day perfectly. Moreover we got a bottle of wine, cookies and maps with tips for activities etc. in the area. We especially liked the idea of leaving a little note in a prepared book - it was so interested to see where all the other Airbnb-guests came from. And the communication with Juliet was brilliant!!
A little hint: Be aware of spiders (e.g. black widows) around the entry and especially the door knob when you arrive late in the evenings. Its absolutely not a problem of the house, the property or whatever - but when you are not used to them (we are from Europe) it can be dangerous.
    Enjoy your stay!

  • Great cozy place. Juliet made the whole transaction easy and smooth. Only stayed one night, but would like to go back and explore Grover Beach!

  • We had a very nice stay in Juliet's cottage. Her place is clean, convenient, and in a quiet neighborhood. We also love the delicious wine and cookies she kindly left for us. If you travel though central coast, Juliet's cottage is a great place to rest and relax.
