The Space

Dear Guests,

We invite you to step into our magical San Francisco sanctuary, a place for both recollection and inspiration!

Our home is a unique, beautiful and huge loft warehouse (3,000+ square feet!) filled with numerous art installations, musical instruments (including a tuned baby grand piano), and the soothing sound of water fountains. There are only three full-time residents sharing this warehouse, which means that you have plenty of space for yoga, stretching, and dancing. We are extremely conscious and conscientious artists, and this is a CLEAN, very safe and extremely creative environment. Expect to be inspired!

This space is ideal for mature people with youthful spirits. Children will be considered depending on age and length of stay. However, pets and smoking are never allowed.

Your bedroom has a double futon plus a bonus loft with a twin mattress, providing a comfortable night’s sleep for up to three people. There is also a desk in the room. The bathroom (including a claw foot tub) and kitchen are shared by all residents.

We are centrally located in the SOMA district of San Francisco, a semi-industrial area close to downtown, Union Square, Hayes Valley, Civic Center, Potrero Hill and the Mission district. Many excellent restaurants, galleries and clubs within walking distance, plus easy access to public transportation. A fabulous location, rated as follows:
- Walker’s paradise (95% walk score)
- Rider’s paradise (100% transit score)
- Biker’s paradise (98% bike score)

Special note: we have an ongoing weekly class (Butoh-inspired movement training) every Sunday from 5-8pm. Guests may choose to either participate in the class free of charge, or vacate the warehouse during class time. For this reason, we offer a special reduced rate on Sundays.

Additional details:
- SFO (airport) only 20 minutes away by car
- Plenty of street parking
- Japanese, Thai, Mexican, breakfast/brunch spots all within two blocks
- Organic co-op grocery only three blocks away
- Shared kitchen with space in refrigerator and drawers for your use
- WiFi throughout unit
- No television
- 100% cotton sheets plus good pillow selection
- Three person maximum occupancy in room
- No pets and no smoking allowed
- Check-in 2PM, check-out 12PM (times may be flexible if pre-arranged)

Please email us to check availability and if you have any other questions. We look forward to meeting you!

  • Well, this was my second time staying with Anastazia, and it is always a highlight. I'm seriously considering planning my business trips to SF not when work needs me, but when I need a break, as I can't think of a better place to relax and wind down than this place. :)

  • Stayed here because of all the art decorations in her pictures. Real life is even more amazing. Also really close to Downtown sites and Ferry building. Walking or take Lyft or bus. Your preference.

  • Our visit with Anastazia and Goyo was marvelous. We were delighted and well taken care of, we felt very much at home and were inspired to boot. The space is spellbinding and the conversation was easy and interesting. It is each of our intentions to visit with them again in the future, these folks express a great deal of aloha. Thank very much.

  • Beautiful space, a true restful sanctuary. To top it off, the hosts are very warm and cheerful, making you feel like family. I think I found my new favorite stay in SF.

  • Our stay (two nights) with Anastazia and Goyo was great. They loft they own is pretty unique and the amenities are catered to visitors. It's obvious that they have the AirBnB host thing down pat.

The neighborhood they're in is fine, but you are only a few blocks from some pretty shady areas so plan on driving or taking a cab to most places.

All-in-all we had a great time and would consider staying there again.

  • The photos tell the story: this is an "only in San Francisco" kind of place. I booked day of and Anastazia got back to me within minutes to confirm the room was available. Checking-in an hour or so later was super easy. The area, which borders Soma, Mission and Potrero Hill, is gritty but full of good nightlife (eg Bar Agricole).

  • My stay with Anastasia & Goyo was beyond my expectations. My stay was only a week, but I could have stayed in their sanctuary for-ever!
I was lucky enough to have known Anastazia from our high school years, but wish I had known her then, as she is now...actually, as we both are now.
Her hospitality & natural instinct to care for and nurture her guests, along with Goyo's music gave me a true escape from my busy work schedule.
I can not say enough about the wondrous living space and relaxing, almost calming atmosphere of the loft; it gave me my own privacy, yet I felt part of the landscape & had free access to my own personal tranquility as well experienced as an evening with Anastazia & Goyo partaking in a BAD UNKL SISTA Training session.
The entire space, neighbors, the neighborhood made my feel at ease and welcomed. There was easy and access to restaurants, shopping, the highway and much more.
I can not say enough about the good fortune I have had to once again re-connect with Anastazia and experience a small portion of her present life.
I look forward to my future return to this serene sanctuary.

  • The Urban Art Sanctuary was a really great place to stay. Getting to know Anastazia and Goyo was such a remarkable experience and they were fabulous hosts! The room was very comfortable and I slept very well. The shared space was very nice, perfect for sitting, relaxing, reading and visiting. They kept some food in the pantry and in the refrigerator for their guests, which I found to be very convenient on a couple of rushed mornings. Although this was my first time meeting and staying with them, I quickly felt like I was staying with really great friends because of how comfortable I felt staying with them. I had the opportunity to share some late night pancakes with Anastazia, to listen to Goyo play the piano and to have really great conversations with both of them. I would definitely stay with Anastazia and Goyo again in the future.

    Response from Anastazia:

Karim, I do hope that we get the chance to have more late night pancakes in the future, maybe you can bring your family for some fun time in SF! It was a pleasure to meet you. Thank you also for the journey through Butoh dance and introducing me to Jerry Gardner's work.
