About This Listing
Located in the paradise island of Gili Meno, maoMeno is a place for relaxation, Yoga, art and any Life affirming activities. Whether you want to rent a family house with kitchen, just a simple island hut, organize an event or join us for daily yoga classes, maoMeno provides all this.
This 100% bamboo construction house is ideal for those guests looking for a natural, zen and tranquil living space. It has two bedrooms and a big veranda overlooking to the garden.
The master bedroom equips a double bed with en suite large open air bathroom and a unique spot to instal our massage bed if required by guests. The second bedroom has two 120cm mattresses, enough for sleeping 4 children, or 2 adults. This bedroom doesn´t have toilet. Guests sleeping here may use our common bathroom (located 50m away) or share bathroom between both rooms. No kitchen is provided.
Unique features like our bamboo floors (which provide natural ventilation) or several big japanese style sliding doors make of this house a special one! We have reduced furniture to the essential to help maintain its zen atmosphere. This includes futon style mattress frames which may be a little uncomfortable for the most elders, as they are very close to the floor.
Fresh water shipped from the neighbor island of Lombok is provided. Breakfast is available at an additional cost of 3 euros per person/night. Otherwise we can provide an "a la carte" menu in our juice bar.
Kike welcome us very well. The place was pleasant, quiet and resourceful. 5 mins walk from everything on Gili Meno, we had a lovely break over there where you can recover in the best condition.
The bamboo house was a great place. Very simple but it really created its charm.
Falling asleep with sounds except the one from the waves and the geckos... This was a really peaceful place.
Also, Kike provides Yoga courses, which we didn't have the time to take, but it looked perfectly in adequation with the feeling of the place.
I would recommend to have a dinner at Mao Meno place, perhaps we had our best local meal there with nobody around. You really feel special and sharing a unique moment.
I'll recommend Mao Meno resort both for the place and the people who run it.
Great stay from the first moment to the last, Kike was very welcoming and my family and I really enjoyed his advice during our stay at Gili Meno. The bamboo house is very charming and its quiet & central location on the island very appreciated. the couple of days we stayed there were a haven of peace in the middle of our Bali trip.
The place was very Nice BUT OUR shower did not work during 2days whithout any body does something
The Landlord did not appreciate we ask a compensation and cut the communication too bad
We didn't get top meet Kike during our stay but all prior communication with him was appreciated.
The resort is basic but beautiful and a one of a kind experience for guests. A great place to chill out and reconnect with nature in lush green surrounds and perfect silence.
The breakfast is heavenly and we had the most gorgeous Balinese cook. Unfortunately you need to provide your own food if you arrive late at night - something we weren't aware of, so we went hungry the first night.
The accommodation is clean, although bedding in the Bamboo house is on the floor and red ants and mosquitoes easily get into the tent making for an uncomfortable sleep.
All in all, a great resort built by two lovely individuals although perhaps not suited to city slickers like myself.
Kike was a great host, very nice and kind person. He seems to know everyone in the Island so don't hesitate to ask him to set something for you, such as a snorkeling trip. He'll get good rates and good service.
The location is very relaxing, but the accommodation (we stayed at the bamboo house) was a bit to spartiate for me, and a bit overpriced as well. But I guess it's the price of true tranquility....

About the Host, Kike
Hi, my name is Kike, I was born in Spain. Lived part of my childhood in Morrocco, which certainly inspired me to look further on through the different paths in Life.
My girlfriend and me are currently living in Gili Meno, a paradise island, just one and a half hours from Bali (Indonesia). We have built a spacious village resort, specialized in yoga retreats and other life-celebrating activities,.
Before starting to build this place (2 years ago) I had the opportunity to travel around this beautiful world. To name some, Santa Teresa (Brasil), Byron Bay (Australia), Essaouria (Morrocco), Raja Empat (Indonesia)....Gili Meno...great places!
