PERFECT LOCATION! You are right in the middle of all the action in the Haight with no street noise! Bars, Great Coffee Shops & Restaurants, Amazing Public Transportation are directly outside my door. Located only few blocks from Golden Gate Park.
PERFECT LOCATION -- STEPS AWAY FROM. . .
*VERY CONVENIENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT OUTSIDE DOOR
Located just one block away from the historic intersection of Haight - Ashbury, you will NOT be disappointed with the location. This Large room boasts a new comfortable double bed, dresser, and a large closet with plenty of shelves for all your storage needs. The private backyard is also a sweet little bonus in the city! The front door opens into the hall outside of your room for easy access. As is conducive with the neighborhood historically, this is a 420 friendly environment. I provide an electric tea kettle as well as a variety of teas, and a few breakfast bars to get you started!
*You must be cat friendly to rent this room because Sam, my very loving cat, also lives in the apartment. The apartment is litter box free as he has a cat door. He is a VERY laid-back, loving indoor/outdoor cat. Just read his reviews on here. ;)
Access to Public Transit of all types, going all directions merely steps from the door. Or do some Eclectic Shopping that brings you right back to the Haight Heydays with shops such as 'Amoeba Music' and 'Jammin' on Haight'. Go hear some Jazz or Blues at Club Deluxe across the street. "Loved to Death" (as seen on Oddities TV Show) is one block away from me. I am literally surrounded by a colorful community of bars, restaurants, street performers, and shops.
There are also two markets very near by. Haight Street Market (2 minute walk) is a wonderful local market that has excellent produce and a deli that has high quality food. Great sandwiches! There is also a Whole Foods, which is about a five minute walk from my place. All of this and so much more on Haight St. Tired of Haight St? Walk two blocks to Cole St and hang a left. A totally different atmosphere minutes from my home.
Nestled in the bottom floor of a century old house just off of Haight St., providing instant neighborhood access, but without the constant street noise. The Entrance to Golden Gate Park, the Panhandle, and Buena Vista Park are within very short walking distance from the apartment. The de Young Museum, CA Academy of Sciences and Conservatory of Flowers are only a few of the San Francisco Highlights that are also within walking distance. There are also bike rental shops within a couple of blocks of the apartment.
There is also EXCELLENT public transportation merely steps from my door! The apartment is very centrally located and many neighborhoods such as the Mission, The Marina, Noe Valley,The Castro, Downtown, Noe Valley, and the Presidio are just some of the neighborhoods you can get to via bus lines that run outside my door. You couldn't get anymore centrally located! The 33, 37, 43 and 71 bus lines run outside my house. The N line (our light rail) is a few blocks away in Cole Valley and can take you quickly to downtown - or you can go in the opposite direction directly to the beach! The 33 is a straight shot to the heart of the Mission District. It will also give you a beautiful view of the city.
This is a vegetarian household, so no meat cooked inside, although there is a grill outside you can fire up at anytime! Pre-cooked meat is not a problem at all. You will have a shelf in the refrigerator to store your food.
I am a bit of a night owl, but am respectful of noise and I just ask that you try and do the same. I'm in and out of the place, you may not even see me that much, if at all. Thanks for reading, and have a great stay in SF!

Interaction with Guests
I go to massage therapy school three days a week, and besides that, I don’t keep a set schedule. I am a night owl, but am respectful of noise and just ask that you try and do the same. I do travel, so you may find yourself with the apt to yourself. No guarantees! ;-)

Other Things to Note
The apt may or may not be available for an extra person or two (for an additional fee of course) It never hurts to ask. :)
420 friendly both indoor and out. Welcome to the Haight! Cigarette smoking is permitted in the backyard. No heavy drinkers, please. As with any other community space, please clean as you go. Kindly use the runner located in the front hall for your shoes. Thank you! Have a great time in the Haight!
To anybody that wants to have a great SF experience I recommend MJ, she was a great host, and very accommodating. The pictures were exactly how the placed looked, the neighborhood is vibrant and well located. she provided as very nice and made me feel just at home, she was also willing to provide the full Cali experience! Thank you MJ you and your awesome cat! who is friendly
Great location, had the place pretty much to myself since my host, Mary Jo, was out of town, which was an added bonus. Her directions for picking up keys were good so that went well. Communications were a bit staccato since Mary Jo's phone kept glitching with the AirBnB app but questions were answered and problems solved.
Room was a good size and the bed slept wonderfully.
Only thing I didn't really like was that the room itself had no natural daylight (read window), I also love sleeping with the window open so I missed that bit of fresh air.
I also advise earplugs, being woodstructured the building doesn't keep the neighbor's secrets and vice versa.
Mary Jo was the perfect host! Had a wonderful time in sf. I would definetely (email hidden)'s place again.
Great host, very responsive on messages. Stayed for a couple of days in this unique, and historic, part of SF. Highly recommend this if you want to visit SF.
I had a very good (email hidden)'s house for 3 weeks. The house was quiet, the location very convenient, the hostess very kind and helpfull.
I had a very nice (email hidden)'s place. The room was spacious enough for me to store some stuff (I'm relocating between continents), clean, with plenty of things provided by the host (towels, kettle, teas, iron, etc, etc), The place is conveniently located smack in the middle of Haight, so I could enjoy the atmosphere. The flat is tucked away, so, apart from some minor noise from neighbors, it's quiet and tranquil.
Golden Gate park is very close by, so I enjoyed my morning run there. There is also an inexpensive and fairly good gym nearby.
Sam the Cat was a real comfort-maker, making sure I don't suffer of catlessness :)
The pictures of the place are not a good representation of the accommodations. It is far from being fresh painted, clean and as organized as represented in the pictures. The bedroom door is only a sheet, so expect the cat to jump in bed with you at 3am. It is a multiple tenant building with very little sound proofing and the noise from above was annoying. The host stated the bed was a real mattress on a futon frame with no complaints. Let me be the first. The $85 per night rate is ridicules.
I'm sorry that you did not find the accommodations suitable for you. I've never claimed that the walls were freshly painted, although, they were painted in the last couple of years. The pictures (and reviews) clearly state that there are CURTAINS (not a sheet) that covers the area which leads to the front door, which is easy access for the guest to get in and out of the apt. There is a door in the guest room that goes straight to the bathroom. As far as the apt being clean, I cleaned in preparation for your stay as I do for every guest. All homes in SF have multi-units.I can't control how SF was built. You stated you only rented the room for sleep as you were visiting from Nebraska to see your daughter that lived nearby for the weekend. Most guests are staying for a quiet place to retreat to after a busy day in the Haight - Ashbury/SF and love the location as it literally outside the door from Haight St, but without the street noise from Haight. No one has ever found the price ridiculous. You were also introduced to Sam (the cat) and was told he might want to cuddle. Sam is also mentioned in the ad that if you do not like cats to not rent the room. Rent in SF is the highest in the country and $85 a night is not bad at all considering the prices in SF are ridiculously high. I'm sorry again your expectations were not met. I wish you would have conveyed them to me instead of leaving a bad review. At any rate, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay with your daughter.
