The photographs on the site do not do this beautiful valley and setting justice. Driving up to Sandy and Jorge's residence was a joy in itself :passing small farms, horses and a veg/fruit stand on the honor system. We were in Central California for a wedding .Various family members getting together from around the country and the house was a perfect place for us to rendezvous, talk, eat meals together and get a peaceful sleep.
The home itself is spacious, very clean and comfortable. Sandy has thought of everything her guests may need for a small example an ironing board and iron, all linens, there are two BBQs [charcoal provided] for guests use, TVs and DVD and board games, the kitchen is also well equipped.
Our hosts provided a continental breakfast package of bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, juice, fruit, milk, and fresh coffee which was fully appreciated.
The deck is a fabulous spot for relaxing with a distant view of the ocean, the rolling hills, and the sound of birds, the breeze, and the goats bleating.
Bryan and I know this area fairly well but had not explored Arroyo Grande's downtown which is just down the hill from the house. It is a really pleasant town with a bustling farmers market on a Saturday morning, a pub and small individual shops to explore including an old fashioned butcher and bakery, antique stores, and a wonderful guitar shop.
Sandy was extremely gracious and friendly with good communication at all times.
We highly recommend staying with at Sandy and Jorge's country home. Bryan and I just wish we had more time to relax there alone.
The home is in an ideal location for a weekend getaway: secluded, with an incredible view of the area, but not too far from civilization. But even more impressive is the quality of the hosts. Sandy and Jorge when to great lengths to ensure we were comfortable.
A wonderful place to stay for a long weekend on the central coast! Nice quiet location location, on a ridge with views. Well-equipped comfortable house. Sandy and Jorge were very nice. They have a big dog, some small goats, and even tetherball!
