The Space

When you are in SF stay in the heart of the Castro with me and my cat! There is a single bedroom in an Edwardian condo here with your name on it! I am three blocks to Castro and 18th and only two blocks to Dolores Park. The J Church will connect you with downtown, the embarcadero and all over the city.Cafe Flore, Philz, Harvey's, Midnight Sun, Toad's Hall, Samovar...all no more than 3-4 blocks away. If you like coffee, there will be coffee in the morning! Feel free to store food in the frig or use the microwave. Beer and wine as well as soft drinks are there for you. There is a TV in your room and WiFi access. Basically you are on your own but I am happy to offer any advice/suggestions/recommendations when you are here. I work downtown (I am a recruiter....I help companies find their top PR and Corporate Communications people) Sometimes I work from home. There is only one bathroom in the flat so THIS ROOM IS BEING RENTED OUT TO SINGLE TRAVELERS ONLY. NO COUPLES.. Again, this room is meant for solo travelers. I am sure you will find lots to do right in the neighborhood. Look up the Castro District in whatever guide book you use. Theater/bars/coffee houses galore! Lots of shopping too if that's your thing. I am also very close to the vibrant Mission District. check out Valencia St. If you are a foodie, I think you will be very pleased. Please read previous visitors comments! Looking forward to meeting you. George

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I had a great time staying at George's place. He was easy to get along with, maintained good communication, and overall simply a very nice person. His place was well-kept and the location was excellent -- close to Castro bars, restos and public transportation, but was quiet at night, away from all the riffraff. Kuma (his cat) is adorable. I would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

  • George was a very friendly, easy-going host and the room I stayed in was great with a touch of old-world charm — big comfortable bed, well-stocked bookshelves, and even a fireplace. Nice bay window looks down onto a quiet neighborhood street. And an excellent view of the whole city from the balcony next to the kitchen. A good retreat for a single traveler and an easy walk to the San Francisco sights!

  • George was a wonderful host and very accommodating! The views of San Francisco were spectacular and the morning coffee was a lovely way to start the morning.

  • George was a nice guy and his place is cozy. We didn't spend more than a few minutes together, but I felt a warmth from both George and his cat. I appreciate his timely and clear communications. I slept well, which is what I needed. I'd recommend to others and would certainly stay there again.

    Response from George:

I'm glad you slept well. That bed is about 6 months old and people seem to go into a coma when they hit the pillows.

  • I had the pleasure of staying at George's gorgeous apartment last weekend, and everything was great. The location, right in the heart of the Castro, and only a stone's throw from Dolores Park, was ideal. George was a very considerate and forthcoming host, helping wherever he could. Kuma the cat was an absolute treasure as well.
The room was spacious and clean, the whole apartment beautifully made up, and carefully put together. I would stay there again at any time.

  • George was very helpful and gave me pointers about searching for apts in SF. I found one & headed back to LA a day earlier so I did not get a chance to stay at his place. But he has given me a rain check for a later date; I'd like to thank him for that.

  • Clean, cheerful, and delightfully quiet. Bed totally comfortable. Sweet balcony with seating for a bright breakfast—which I enjoyed in the company of the host, a San Franciscan who knows the city. The view from that balcony is a pleasure I have never before enjoyed—the hilly charm & Victorians right out of the Tales from the City. Host was generous and accommodating with fridge & kitchen appliances, and made us coffee to start the morning. (This is a popular airbnb bedroom booking among the cognoscenti—so it was blind luck that I got in for one night). I guess Cat hair allergy would be an issue for a minority, though frankly the apartment is cleaned with care. I look forward to the chance for another visit with George and Kuma the cat.

  • George was a helpful and accommodating host. The room was nice & comfy. He had coffee & fruit for breakfast. He was willing to pick me up and take me to his place after a training I attended. I would stay with George again in the future. Nice, quiet neighborhood, beautiful home. Thank you, George

  • George was a great host. Though I rarely saw him, he was both friendly and helpful the times that I did. Would definitely stay again!
