The Space

When you are in SF stay in the heart of the Castro with me and my cat! There is a single bedroom in an Edwardian condo here with your name on it! I am three blocks to Castro and 18th and only two blocks to Dolores Park. The J Church will connect you with downtown, the embarcadero and all over the city.Cafe Flore, Philz, Harvey's, Midnight Sun, Toad's Hall, Samovar...all no more than 3-4 blocks away. If you like coffee, there will be coffee in the morning! Feel free to store food in the frig or use the (website hidden) and wine as well as soft drinks are there for you. There is a TV in your room and WiFi access. Basically you are on your own but I am happy to offer any advice/suggestions/recommendations when you are here. I work downtown (I am a recruiter....I help companies find their top PR and Corporate Communications people) Sometimes I work from home. There is only one bathroom in the flat so THIS ROOM IS BEING RENTED OUT TO SINGLE TRAVELERS ONLY. NO COUPLES.. Again, this room is meant for solo travelers. I am sure you will find lots to do right in the neighborhood. Look up the Castro District in whatever guide book you use. Theater/bars/coffee houses galore! Lots of shopping too if that's your thing. I am also very close to the vibrant Mission District. check out Valencia St. If you are a foodie, I think you will be very pleased. Please read previous visitors comments! Looking forward to meeting you. George

Interaction with Guests

I really don't very much. I figure the last thing they want is someone hovering over them. If they have questions, by all means ask! But I know when I travel I tend to be a solo act.

Getting around

I am very centrally located. Near the J church line, and of course the K,L,M at Castro. The F Market is only a five minute walk up to Market St. Plus I am near the (website hidden) buses

  • George and his room were great. I never felt as though I was in his way and was never in mine. When we did interact he was polite and friendly. He definitely made me feel welcome. The room and bed were very comfortable. The location was great too. The neighborhood and surrounding areas are beautiful. I would absolutely recommend staying with George.

  • Geo is super kind and thoughtful. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable in his space and in his city. The room was was exactly what I was looking for: someplace quiet and accessible by public transport. The location is awesome, and the view from his kitchen is even better. Oh, and if Geo wasn't there to host, Kuma (the cat) was there to pick up where he left off. Great hosts, the both of them.

I hope to stay with them again soon!

  • It is a fantastic area with a fantastic host and his cat. It is a beautiful old and safe area, you can enjoy watching every single house in it. George's house is located in a tiny calm street just 1-2 blocks from the 'busy' part of Castro.
George's apartment is also very cosy and calm, so if you make a lot of noise or a party animal, you might prefer a more busy area. The bed is so comfy, that I spent even more time in it than I should have to. Special thanks to George for the heater in the room.
George is very welcoming and easygoing host, so if you have any questions about the apartment or SF, he'll definitely give you any necessary information.
So, if you are a single traveller and want to stay in a calm place close to downtown, don't look further, stay with George.

  • George could not be a better host. The view is stunning, the bed is super comfortable, and there's cool art everywhere. Location cannot be beat. You won't find a better deal. He seems to really love gusts, too.

  • I had a very pleasant stay here. Location was great in the heart of Castro, an easy walk to cafes, bars and restaurants. George was very friendly and kindly kept my luggage until I could make it back from San Jose on the last day. He has the most affectionate cat! Very comfortable bed, and great view from the balcony. I would recommend this room to anyone travelling alone.

I didn't even know you had a bike you could have brought it downstairs where the laundry room is and I'm sorry I was so busy when you were here!!

  • Stayed one day in George's place. He is super friendly and easy going. Location of the house is very close to Dolores park, Mission district which has all the cool and nice San Francisco restaurants. If you are here for a business trip and need to take shuttle buses of tech companies, this place is probably very conveniently located for you too.
George owns a cute big cat who doesn't bother you at all. House is on a small hill so when you go out you need to walk uphill.

  • George is a terrific host. The Castro neighborhood is so historic and rich in culture, and George is an excellent ambassador to the area. And his cat is adorable and friendly. I always love visiting San Francisco and look forward to returning soon.
