When you are in SF stay in the heart of the Castro with me and my cat! There is a single bedroom in an Edwardian condo here with your name on it! Interaction with Guests
I really don't very much. I figure the last thing they want is someone hovering over them. If they have questions, by all means ask! But I know when I travel I tend to be a solo act.
I am very centrally located. Near the J church line, and of course the K,L,M at Castro. The F Market is only a five minute walk up to Market St. Plus I am near the (website hidden) buses
Please note the room is meant for one person only. Please be respectful of the tenants upstairs and downstairs. No guests/overnight folks. NO SMOKING!!!! .Also be a cat lover!! CHECK IN TIME IS 3:00 PM. CHECK OUT IS 10:00 AM
George was very welcoming even though we didn't encounter each other in person until the 3rd day of my stay. He gave clear instructions for check in, check out, and use of the flat and left notes with tourist suggestions like "Visit Alcatraz if you can" (and I did, and the Ai Wei Wei installation was terrific). I am inspired by George's easy trust of his AirBnB guests. He strikes a nice balance of being a warm host and leaving guests on their own.
The bedroom was comfortable, though different than pictured. The room I stayed in was the front room, facing the street (so no real view, which I don't mind) with a bay windows and a desk, no closet, a fireplace, and lots of books on the shelves. It was a nice room with a comfortable bed and it was quiet enough, though a bit exposed for changing clothes. Luckily, I am not shy and the street is not very busy!
I only used the kitchen to fill my water bottle and to store leftovers once. I did not use the living room, dining room, or deck at all. The shared bathroom was adequate, though it needs a deep clean. The resident kitty is nice.
The location is terrific. It is close to public transportation though I either walked or took a Lyft car wherever I was going. Overall a good stay!
What else to add to what other have said? The place is very nice, is a perfect location very close to the Castro and public transportation, yet very quiet. George is a great host and has every detail worked out. I didn't see much of him because of my schedule. But: my main reason for the trip was to attend the film noir festival at the Castro. George happens to be a film noir buff as well: he shared many little noir goodies with me - he is actually a more serious fan than I am.
George's place was great. He was very helpful and had everything laid out perfectly. Would definitely stay again. His cat is cute too.
Had an excellent time at George's place! We both had quite busy schedules, so we quite a bit of our communication went through little notes, but regardless, George took very good care of his guest, and even provides for some fruit and chocolates.
Great experience! The place was just as described, quite well situated and George was a very nice host! He really made me feel like at home and kindly helped me find my way around the city! Also very convenient on the check-in and check-out procedure. I warmly recommend a stay at George's!
George is very friendly , accommodating and makes you feel at home.
Great neighborhood and location.
Very nice home and bedroom.
What a great location! George was a wonderful host, and the house was very comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again!
I am a recruiter, a writer and cat lover! 61, Gay. I often work from home if not at my office downtown. Avid reader. Been working on a full length play (only four years now, but who's counting?.) Work as an independant headhunter for companies who need strong writers in PR/Corporate Communications or Marketing. Also help law firms find their partner level attorney teams. Lots of my clients are of course tech focused being here in the SF Bay Area! Born in China but have lived in SF since the mid 50s. Happy to make suggestions so you have a great time in SF. I try to do a daily power walk around Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park and if you are ever interested and available to join me, you are most welcome. I tend to go to bed early, rise early. I swim in the mornings and am usually out of the house when guests get up.
