Interaction with Guests
I really don't very much. I figure the last thing they want is someone hovering over them. If they have questions, by all means ask! But I know when I travel I tend to be a solo act.
I am very centrally located. Near the J church line, and of course the K,L,M at Castro. The F Market is only a five minute walk up to Market St. Plus I am near the (website hidden) buses
Please note the room is meant for one person only. Please be respectful of the tenants upstairs and downstairs. No guests/overnight folks. NO SMOKING!!!! .Also be a cat lover!! CHECK IN TIME IS 3:00 PM. CHECK OUT IS 10:00 AM
George was the best host I could possibly ask for, in my first visit to San Francisco! From the beginning, when he bought me pizza to eat so that I wouldn't be hungry when I arrived, I could tell George cared about his guest. The room was perfectly as-described, with clear instructions on the rules for the house. It was in a PERFECT location (two blocks from the Castro). George also makes his guests feel at home, but isn't so overbearing and leaves you to do your own thing, if that's what you like. The cat was an added plus. The room was huge, and perfect for what I needed, and the view from the balcony is phenomenal. Thank you, George, for a great first time in SF!
Great place and great host. Quiet neighborhood, but close to restaurants and stores. George was super accommodating. Absolutely no complaints.
George was an accommodating and friendly host, going out of his way to make sure I was comfortably in his apartment, even when he was not there to let me in. He also checked in the next day to make sure I had everything I needed.
The room itself is quite large, and in one of the most convenient parts of the city, near Dolores Park, the Castro, the Mission, and both MUNI and BART. If you're staying for a long time, the lack of kitchen use might be a problem, but otherwise I'd highly recommend this location and the room itself, which has a desk to work on, if you're coming for a work/pleasure trip.
Added bonuses are the deck, which overlooks Corona Heights, Buena Vista Park, and downtown San Francisco, and the very sweet cat. On a sunny day, there's nothing better than sitting outside, enjoying the warmth.
I booked a listing for a coworker who was flying into SF from Singapore and George was very accommodating from the beginning. He was thorough in his line of questioning since he knew it wouldn't be me staying in his home. Super responsive via phone and the app, George is a seasoned host who'd be a great match for any new or experienced Airbnb guest visiting SF. Highly recommend. Thanks George!
The good: A big comfortable room. Lovely house in a center location. Close to everything. George was accommodating and awesome.
The bad: A little pricey for a place with a single restroom - was a disappointment for me as its not close to the room and its across from George's room - and I prefer more privacy. Really needed to tip toe the house to not disturb the neighbors.
A couple of things:
1)You knew I had one bathroom when you booked the reservation. If you wanted "more privacy" book a place that had a private bathroom.
2)My room rate is less than what Airbnb even suggests I charge for it
3)Check out similar listings in my neighborhood with a shared bathroom
4)I was never disturbed by you making noise while you were here. I actually moved to the smaller bedroom because I didn’t want the guest to be disturbed having the bathroom across the hall from them.
About the Host, George
I am a recruiter, a writer and cat lover! 61, Gay. I often work from home if not at my office downtown. Avid reader. Been working on a full length play (only four years now, but who's counting?.) Work as an independant headhunter for companies who need strong writers in PR/Corporate Communications or Marketing. Also help law firms find their partner level attorney teams. Lots of my clients are of course tech focused being here in the SF Bay Area! Born in China but have lived in SF since the mid 50s. Happy to make suggestions so you have a great time in SF. I try to do a daily power walk around Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park and if you are ever interested and available to join me, you are most welcome. I tend to go to bed early, rise early. I swim in the mornings and am usually out of the house when guests get up.
