This is my second time staying at the Pacot Breeze, and I highly recommend it. The PB is quiet, reasonable and well-located. Mme Verna is great!
Amazing stay with amazing people. Mama Verna was awesome
I was initially impressed by the communication from Viky and hence, decided to stay at his place. Unfortunately, I didn't have a pleasant experience staying there even though Viky was quite professional in the communication, but he does not live there. I am staying through airbnb regularly but this is the first time I was not happy. First of all, this is a hotel, a proper hotel and not bread and breakfast. The service is not up to the standard. Please note, I am not comparing this with a regular hotel and I do not expect a lavish service in Haiti as this was my 3rd visit so I very well understand the infrastructure limitations in the country. Barring a couple of staff members the others are rude and arrogant. I never got hot water in my bathroom even though I would have registered the complaint to them several times each day. I took shower in chilling cold water for the first three days. I was lucky for last two days as they could manage half a bucket of hot water from outside and that too after I was agitated a bit. I am aware about power situation in Haiti and hence, I had specifically asked Viky if they have a fully packed DG Set for which I got a positive answer. What I discovered that they do have power backup but that does not support the air conditioner. That means during my 5 nights stay, I had to be awake till 1 am atleast for the power to come back in order AC can start. I was on a business tour and had to get up very early in the morning so I never got more than 4.5 hours of sleep. You stay at a place to get a good night's sleep even if you do not expect anything more than that, which also I did not get. Believe me, the staff is absolutely not interested in understanding your problems and working towards the solution. Yes, they are very much interested in serving you on your last day as they expect you to pay them NICE tip. Viky's mother is nice but she leaves everything to the manager of the hotel and who is simply not interested in your problems. He has only one common excuse to give you - "This is Haiti and you have to live with what you get". The only thing I liked about this place is food. During my this visit I did explore other places listed on airbnb and I was quite impressed with a few of them. They all offer the similar price and they are in real sense "bread and breakfast" not the hotel. I strongly suggest exploring other options. I am a globe trotter so I very well understand the limitations of the places and I am usually a "no complaint guy". But this was a bit too much. One more thing, Internet never works at this place.
My experience at the Pacot breeze was excellent. Being a native of Port-au-Prince, I was at ease but I had the opportunity to reminesce with my hosts and I enjoyed every minute of it. They are very typical Haitians who share real and family values. They share stories and advise me about my activities. They truly care....and treated me like family. I love them all.
We had a wonderful stay in Port-au-Prince at Pacot Breeze. Viky and Madame Verna helped us navigate our first time in Haiti by answering all our questions and providing suggestions.
Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The location is ideal as downtown was accessible to either walking or a taking a short moto-taxi ride. The morning breakfast was nice and their staff very friendly.
They were very quick to respond to my email questions and arranged for a car pickup at airport.
We will recommend their place to anyone visiting PAP.
I've been to Haiti many times, but only just discovered the Pacot Breeze on this trip, and it was great. Viky responded to my request right away. The Pacot Breeze is in a very convenient location, in a good neighborhood that is also close to the center of the city. Madame Verna, who runs the hotel, was very kind and accommodating. She made a lovely dinner for me one night, and coffee and breakfast is available in the morning if you need it.
I will definitely stay there again.
