Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Beautiful new contemporary home in Torrey w/spectacular views of Boulder Mt, The Henry Mts. and Capitol Reef NP. The joy of travel has always involved getting away from it all, but never has the very notion of escape seemed quite as liberating as it does today. I hope your time at our home, surrounded by the beauty of starry filled night skies and dramatic red rock will inspire you to find a stillness, away from the busyness of our everyday lives.

The space
This recently built house is very unique. As you might have seen in the photos it has panoramic views from the main living space with floor to ceiling windows on all four sides, capturing the incredibly diverse landscape, thus the name 360.
The home has been designed and decorated by a professional architect and interior designer. It is open and inviting for family and guests to make as their home away from home. The main living space consists of two separate dining areas, a living room area and a grand kitchen fully equipped for any chefs needs. One of the dining areas can seat up to 10 people and the smaller one seats 6 comfortably, but could easily squeeze an additional two people. This smaller table is a great place to work a puzzle, play cards or to sit and grab a bite to eat. The lounge seating area consists of two beautifully upholstered leather couches with two coffee tables creating a lovely conversational area for all.
This large galley kitchen comfortably accommodates eight at the island. The counters are appointed with beautiful black, cream and white granite. A fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a programmable coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, blender, ice cream maker, waffle maker, professional cutlery, pots and pans. An apple peeler provided for those days when the apples are ripe and ready to pick from the apple orchards located in Fruita, inside the park.
A covered patio provides seating for 8, a grille for the cooking with spectacular views overlooking Sand Creek, Boulder Mt. and The Henrys.

The two bedrooms upstairs are both furnished with queen size beds, fitted with fine linens. Large windows offer wonderful views to the stunning red rocks to the north.

The bathroom is appointed with a double bowl sink, walk in shower and plenty of fresh bath linens.

Downstairs has an additional bedroom furnished with a queen size bed, a family room with a kitchenette that is equipped with a microwave, an under counter refrigerator, a toaster oven and an assemblage of household items to make your stay comfortable . The bathroom consists of a large walk in shower. There is a TV for watching a dvd or shows from your personal computer. This is a great space for a anyone who might need a little space away from the rest of the house. Once again, these spaces have floor to ceiling windows with dramatic views to the red rocks to the north.

Torrey is a quaint little town, but with a myriad of things to do. A binder is provided outlining a few of our favorite hikes, bike rides and places in town to poke around in. I hope you enjoy your stay here. It is a very special place.

Where you’ll be

Torrey, Utah, United States

The gateway to Capitol Reef National Park, the pretty little tree-filled town of Torrey is one of Southern Utah's jewels.
The town was settled in the 1880's by Mormon pioneers. Sand Creek, flowing from Thousand Lake Mountain attracted the settlers as a good source of water for their families and crops.

No doubt they appreciated the magnificence of Thousand Lake Mountain, as a beautiful edifice as well as a grass-filled home for their livestock. Legend has it that Torrey was named after one of Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders, Colonel Torrey.

Torrey has had many famous visitors, among them John Wesley Powell, Butch Cassidy, Zane Grey, Maynard Dixon and Wallace Stegner. Torrey is currently home for an eclectic group of people. There is a mixture of the descendants of the pioneers and a variety of newcomers, many of whom like to hike and explore the vast surroundings of mountains & canyons & deserts & rivers.

Capitol Reef National Park is a hiker's park with a myriad of trails for casual walking outings or serious hiking adventures. Hiking in Capitol Reef is pleasant all year and the vastness of Capitol Reef assures one of quiet and solitude. The history of the human presence in Capitol Reef is fascinating and everywhere, from the rock art lining the canyon walls to the orchards along the Fremont River.

Boulder Mountain, part of Dixie National Forest is a massive green expanse of pine forests, meadows and lakes.7000 to 11,000 feet elevation. Hiking trails, numerous lakes known for abundant populations of brook trout, and views filled with blue sky and red canyon country reaching beyond the Colorado River. Boulder Mountain is within minutes of Torrey and a favorite spot for everyone.

Thousand Lake Mountain
Its face of exposed red sandstone layers provides lovely red canyons on its lower slopes for hiking and exploring. Higher, both steep and gentle slopes of open meadows with huge clusters of aspen and tall pines allow for pleasurable travel on foot, horseback, bicycle or ATV. Thousand Lake Mountain borders Fish Lake Mountain on the north and Capitol Reef National Park on the south. Torrey, within walking distance, lies at the base of Thousand Lake Mountain which rises from 7000 to 11,000 feet.
