Il Giardino di Sant'Agostino
Just entred in the historical center by the ancient gate of S. Agostino, far 20 meters from the free public parking and buses stop and 70 meters far from the main piazza, Piazza della Repubblica, on the first caracteristic alley of Cortona, full of flowers and history, you can find our terratetto of 90 mqs on 3 floors composed by: 2 bedrooms (one with matrimonial bed and one with 2 single beds that can be united in matrimonial bed), living room with 2 armchairs and large sofa bed for two people, TV and stereo with cd, totally equipped kitchen with dishwasher and oven, spacious bath with shower, laundry room at ground floor.
The typical townhome is unique because at the top has a spacious terrace overlooking the Valdichiana where you can sunbath on the beds, make breakfast under the gazebo or simply lose our gaze between the typical color of the Tuscan hills until the Monte Amiata. At the first floor there is a small private garden also equipped with table and chairs for lunch after a nice barbecue and relax on rocking behind the rose garden.
Air conditioners in the bedrooms and internet WiFi in all the house.
My wife and I spent a lovely 4 days in Cortona. We were delighted to be able to make a last minute booking with Simona. She is a lovely hostess who was quick with her responses to all our inquiries and requests to help us get settled in. In late October the nights were getting cooler so it was immediately made sure that we had heat. Simona invited us out for coffee the next morning and gave us some great tips on what to see in this unique town. Staying in her town home made us feel like we were having an authentic experience living in a walled medieval Italian town. The bedroom in the loft was most comfortable and we awoke to cooing pigeons on the roof and views over the rooftops into the valley below. This town home is ideal for a 2 couples or family. If you have a car the bonus is that you are very close to the wall and the parking area below. The House of Dreams is an ideal place to relax in as it is so quiet. It's not as bright as we anticipated but this is the experience of living in a walled medieval town and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely to meet you Simona. We loved Cortona and hope to come back.
My wife and I stayed at Simona's townhouse from 2nd to 16th July 2014. In essence, Simona was the perfect host: very helpful, always available for contact, prompt responses and a willingness to go the extra mile.
From the original booking to the arrival, Simona made the process straightforward and easy. We had a few questions about the house and travel and Simona answered all quickly and comprehensively.
The house was accurately described and proved to be the most excellent accommodation for a great holiday. The garden terrace was ideal for breakfast, cool in the sun. The roof terrace was just a joy, panoramic views across the beautiful Tuscan vista. We dined on the roof terrace a few times over the two weeks, so memorable.
We only needed to use one of the two bedrooms, both were in good condition with ample wardrobe space, good beds and good aircon.
The house is in the heart of Cortona, enabling one to walk around the beautiful town easily (don’t rush the steep streets, take it easy!). Two minutes from the main piazza and the great little supermarket.
Cortona is the most wonderful place to visit, such interesting history and heritage. Although temperatures are usually high in summer months, the hill location provides welcome breezes.
We highly recommend Simona's townhouse in Cortona.
The reservation was canceled 16 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed at Simano's appartment in October. We were 5 friends and we were in Cortona for the first time. We highly recomend you to stay in there. The little town very historic and sweet. Simona was very gentle to help us find the road and explained us how to find aq parcking space. She met us in the piazza and she walked with us to house. The house was very clean and comfortable. It has a huge bathroom and comfortable kitchen. There is a beatiful garden and teras.
We stayed here for three days in September to attend a family wedding. As it was my first time to use Air BnB I was a little nervous to say the least about booking what was to be a very important family event online.
However, I can’t say enough about how helpful our host Simona was, her local knowledge (as she lives just around the corner from the house) was fantastic from helping us arrange hairdressers, restaurants, and other touristy things to helping us catch a speeding train at a moment’s notice I cannot commend her highly enough!!
The house is set only 100 metres from the main square in the town, around the corner from some of the most amazing craft, fruit and clothing shops. This is a town to stay and relax in and the house most certainly lends itself most excellently to this, from the garden outside the kitchen to the roof terrace that overlooks the town and surrounding countryside. We were only too sorry to leave and continue our trip to Florence and Rome, we will almost certainly be back for a week if not more in the very near future!!
