About This Listing
I have a private room available in East Williamburg in my 2 bedroom apt. The room has private entrance and private bathroom entrance. I'm walking distance from all major train lines and Bedford Ave, is 5 minutes from my location by train. There is an Internet connection in the room and the building is wired for Wi-Fi. The room has a brand new full size bed and dresser, and measures 11' X 9' with 10 ft ceilings. There is a very well known music club on the ground floor of the building which hosts live music on the weekends, and there is some sound leakage on the weekend nights, but otherwise all is calm during the week. About me: I'm an older musician who's used to being around arty and creative types, i'm relatively quiet, and i'm very easygoing and accomodating. My rates for the stay are 60 per night/single and double occupancy. If you're interested, give me a shout. Thanks! P.S to all my JUNE, JULY & AUGUST guests, there will a minimum 2-night stay required to book. NO overnight stays during that time period will be accepted. Thanks! P.P.S There will be no check ins on the following dates: May 25th (Memorial Day), July 4th (Independence Day), Dec. 24th and 25th, Nov 24 or 25th, or New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. If you are already here, great! No arrivals or departures during those time frames, please! Thanks!
Interaction with Guests
Very little, as the room is virtually private and is at the back of the apartment with its own entrance and own bathroom entrance.
Because the room has been very popular with frequent back-to-back bookings, I must have the check out time be firm,as I need some time to clean and prepare the room for the next guest(s). Check-in time Mon-Fri is either at 10 AM on the morning of your arrival or 6:00 PM on the evening of your arrival.Check-out is 8:30 - 9 AM on the day of your departure, flexible if there are no incoming guests immediately after you arriving that day.If there are no bookings after you I can be flexible with the time, however if there is an incoming guest that morning check-out MUST be no later than 9AM. Best times to reach me for bookings are 8-10 AM mornings and after 8:30 PM EST to about 12AM. I'll be able to get right back to you if you contact me during those periods. At any other times, give me a least a couple of hours and i'll be right back in touch. Thanks!
I reserved the room on short notice for a one-night stay. Of the ten or so AirBnB hosts I contacted, Lou was the only one who approved the stay. Lou was very accomodating and welcoming: I was a half-hour late to check in, but Lou was there to show me in and tell me about the room. The building has plenty of character, but I didn't experience any of the previous guests' issues with cleanliness. The room is nice: high ceilings, tall windows, private access to the bathroom. The water in the bathroom never got hot, but I didn't get a chance to ask Lou about it--there may have been a fix. There is a bar with live music downstairs, but this didn't affect my stay, because I was out late myself. Lou had no complaints about me coming in late. Overall, the room was just what I needed, and Lou was friendly and hospitable.
Lou was a wonderful host; very punctual and respectful. The location was very convenient to the metro line. The building, as stated, does have a club downstairs and is quite noisy at night, so keep that in mind, but for the price, the noise wasn't too bad. The accommodation was serviceable and was a place to crash after wandering the city all day and had bright light early in the morning to motivate you to get up and go see more.
I made the reservation on short notice, but the host could not make a single accommodation of us with the time. The stairway stank of cat feces. Would definitely never use this room ever again. The neighborhood is horrible and looked unsafe. Big mistake.
Alphonso wanted to check in at a time which I could not accomodate because I was at work that day and informed him of this. The stairway might have smelled of cat litter because as I was bringing him up to the room my downstairs neighbor was bringing down her garbage which may have included her used cat litter (she has three cats, I have none.) This neighborhood is most definitely NOT unsafe OR horrible ( I'm in East Williamsburg, which is a very young, dynamic, and great place to live.)
very friendly and welcoming person. the place was absolutely fine and it was nearby the hip part of williamsburg. l would like to sleep at lous place again when I return to brooklyn
We really enjoyed staying with Lou! We especially enjoyed how we had a private entrance to our room as we were in and out pretty often. Loved the neighbourhood and the noise of the bar downstairs wasn't too bad. As young, creative people this room was perfect for us. Thank you Lou!
A nice bedroom in Brooklyn, close to the subway system. The apartment is on the third floor, so there is some noise from the bar below but the room is in the back of the house and the bar noise wasn't too disruptive. We were there on a Saturday night, so there was some noise in the hallway when other residents returned home after bars closed. Lou was a great host and very accommodating. I would stay there again.
