I have a private room available in East Williamburg in my 2 bedroom apt. The room has private entrance and private bathroom entrance. I'm walking distance from all major train lines and Bedford Ave, is 5 minutes from my location by train. There is an Internet connection in the room and the building is wired for Wi-Fi. The room has a brand new full size bed and dresser, and measures 11' X 9' with 10 ft ceilings. There is a very well known music club on the ground floor of the building which hosts live music on the weekends, and there is some sound leakage on the weekend nights, but otherwise all is calm during the week. About me: I'm an older musician who's used to being around arty and creative types, i'm relatively quiet, and i'm very easygoing and accomodating. My rates for the stay are 60 per night/single and double occupancy. If you're interested, give me a shout. Thanks! P.S to all my JUNE, JULY & AUGUST guests, there will a minimum 2-night stay required to book. NO overnight stays during that time period will be accepted. Thanks! P.P.S There will be NO check ins OR check outs on Fri July 4,5,or 6th and at any point during the Labor Day weekend (8/30, 31, & Sept. 1.) If you are already here, great! No arrivals or departures during that time frame, please! Thanks!
Very little, as the room is virtually private and is at the back of the apartment with its own entrance and own bathroom entrance.
My experience with the host was good! Lou was very nice, reachable, and transparent about the expectations of the place and the surroundings. I didn't see too much of him during my stay because he works during the day, but I don't have any complaints. He did warn me about the noise (since his place is above a bar), but it wasn't too bad and I was able to sleep through it just fine. The room isn't too large, but it has the necessities and was plenty for my stay while exploring the city. It is close to the subway which is nice.
We DO NOT recommend this place at all !! The pictures you see is a MIRAGE, the room is disgusting and the bathroom is DIRTY, black stuff attached to all over !! It has a private bathroom entrance, HOWEVER you need to share this DIRTY and disgusting bathroom with him, you don´t have a private Bathroom !! The first impression is a building in ruins, in really bad shape and has graffiti for all over, falling apart ! Mr. Ferreiro come to open the door to receive us at the disgusting entrance, once he opened the door come a horrible smell of oil + weird smell coming from the bar in the first floor ! Going up the stairs we could see a building in ruins with really BAD neighbors !! First night there was a huge fight and people screaming and cursing !! what about cockroaches?? We saw several walking for all over at night...in the morning after the horrible fight we left the building with a drunk guy sleeping in the middle of the aisle !!
The room is in really bad shape and you CAN´T open the window because the glass is broken, really dangerous !! Actually everything is broken in this place !!
This "very well known music club" that he mention is one of the worse places we EVER seen in our lives !! If you are a family orientated, PLEASE be away of this place !! We arrived around 1am and we could see what we can´t describe, the worse face of the human being in the entrance of this club, we couldn´t even imagine what was happening inside !!
Time to change description Mr. Ferreiro !! Tell the true about this place !!
Do not go to this place !!! Do not ruin your trip !!!
This....is a horrible, horrible, nasty, disturbing, borderline psychotic screed. I have no idea what i did to this person to deserve this crazy, out-of control rant. The room is as you see it. My bathroom is clean and most certaintly NOT disgusting. The bathroom is not private, nor am I offering it as one. The building is older (early 30's) and has wood stairs and lots of exposed brick. My neigbors are complete sweethearts (fine artists) and are not BAD. They get a little animated sometimes, but they are harmless. I have replaced the windows in the room and they are now brand new and beautiful. Everything works. Even the bar downstairs didn't escape this guy's wrath. And exactly what is "The worse face of the human being"? Young people enjoying them selves and having a great time? Don Pedro is a great place with great people! With lots of fun and great things "Happening inside!" Actually, he is telling the truth about one thing.......he did arrive at 1:30 AM, leaving me up waiting for him for several hours on a work night for me, which I wasn't too thrilled about. But.........I digress. I think that Joao needs to learn a couple of things:
1) Some manners
The host was accommodating with us and gave us a heads up that music would be playing into the wee hours of the morning. We should have heeded his warning and stayed elsewhere. The room good use a good cleaning.
Me and my friend stayed for one night at Lou's, he was a great and welcoming host.
The room is comfortable, the neigborhood is calm and it is 5 minute walk from the subway station. I would recommend his place to stay
Lou was very nice and accomidating ..even when I got mixed up and got there early.. Nice basic digs..close to subway, 3 blocks Neighborhood just fine no scarry moments.. :) Weekend bands may be a bit loud down stairs but not big deal..
Lou was a great host. His place was in a great location, very close to Manhattan. Plenty of local bars and restaurants that are worth a look at too.
Lou was very friendly and accommodating. Very clean room. Overall a very pleasant stay!
We were not happy with this room on any level. Apart from the bed having been made up with fresh sheets, there didn't seem to have been any cleaning between guests. The room and bath room were both very dirty and by the morning after our first night, we found cockroaches in both the bathroom and our bedroom. Although we'd expected a little noise from the bar, we thought that, based on other reviews, this would be less of a problem on weeknights. We stayed two nights - a Monday and a Tuesday - and the noise from the bar downstairs kept us awake until 3/4am. Although on the second floor, the windows didn't seem to lock shut which was slightly worrying as one of them opened out on to a fire escape. There was also very little ventilation which made the room very hot. this wouldn't have been so much of an issue if we could have had the windows open, but the noise from the bar was too loud.
We had booked for four nights but did not stay after the first two as the room was so dirty and we had had so little sleep.
The place is not far from the train station, so it is easy to get around. Lou is a nice host, giving us enough space. The not that good thing is that there is a bar downstairs. We stayed there three nights(Friday, Saturday and Sunday). For Friday and Saturday night, the music downstairs was really loud throughout the night, but Sunday night was pretty quiet. I would recommend staying here during weekdays.
OK......I think it's time to address this issue of the bar on my ground floor. On the weekends, be prepared for a little noise, although it's never so out of hand that you're clamping your hands to your ears. During the week, it's hit or miss. This is a trendy neighborhood and there's going to be activity around here, esp. on Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights. If bucolic peace and quiet is what you seek (i.e, the country) it's probably better if you look elsewhere-Thanks, Lou
Lou was very helpful and provided everything to make our stay in NYC really great.
Everything we expected out of our stay; Lou was helpful and provided everything we needed. The bar downstairs was a bit loud at times, but they were very friendly and made some killer quesadillas.
