Private Room East Williamsburg

Apartment - Private room · Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11206, United States

The Space

I have a private room available in East Williamburg in my 2 bedroom apt. The room has private entrance and private bathroom entrance. I'm walking distance from all major train lines and Bedford Ave, is 5 minutes from my location by train. There is an Internet connection in the room and the building is wired for Wi-Fi. The room has a brand new full size bed and dresser, and measures 11' X 9' with 10 ft ceilings. There is a very well known music club on the ground floor of the building which hosts live music on the weekends, and there is some sound leakage on the weekend nights, but otherwise all is calm during the week. About me: I'm an older musician who's used to being around arty and creative types, i'm relatively quiet, and i'm very easygoing and accomodating. My rates for the stay are 60 per night/single and double occupancy. If you're interested, give me a shout. Thanks! P.S to all my JUNE, JULY & AUGUST guests, there will a minimum 2-night stay required to book. NO overnight stays during that time period will be accepted. Thanks!

Interaction with Guests

Very little, as the room is virtually private and is at the back of the apartment with its own entrance and own bathroom entrance.

  • Lou was nothing but helpful, friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed staying at Lous place, which is value for money!
The room is located in between cool places in Williamsburgh and Manhattan. The close distance to subway which will take you to Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Manahhaten was ideal for us.
Radiators in the room make you warm at night (if you come during winter).

  • location:
    - 3 subway stations in walking distance (3-5min.)
    - a few bars and restaurants on montrose ave and graham ave (3-5min)
    - the neighborhood is safe by day and at night as well
    - there is a big supermarket in walking distance and a small 24/7 market next-door.

Brooklyn is so much more fun than manhattan ;-) u will see!

    lou:
    - he's friendly and easy-going, also reliable concerning the check-in

    room:
    - small bed, one table and 2 chairs, no cupboard to store clothes etc.
    - 2 lamps, 2 heatings and 2 windows (one is damaged)

    bathroom:
    - clear rules about the bathroom-using
    - unfortunately the bath was far-off being clean, besides that there were insects and a cockroach
--> so we had to request lou to clean the bathroom
(Unfortunatly he didn't react-> the bathroom has been unclean all the time, so we had to inform airbnb about our problem.)

    by the way:
    - lous kitchen smelled badly

We're sorry to say that we wouldn't recommend that place for a nyc-stay due to the unsatisfactory standard of hygiene.

    Response from Lou:

Everything was going very well during the first few days of the stay, I would hear Natalie and her girlfriend talking and chatting happily, and there was no mention of anything being unclean until.....they saw a roach, which unfortunately, will some times happen in older New York apartments, esp. if some one in the building is being unclean. Again, I always try to keep thing very tidy esp.the bathroom and if anybody has any problems to come directly to me and I will address them, Thanks!

  • Lou was nice, friendly and uncomplicated.
The location from the flat was very good and the next Metrostation just 5 min away.
Unfortunatuly was the room at night cold and we were freezing. But in warm weather there will be no problem. Furthermore we have to say that there is a bar in the same house and you can hear music. Nevertheless we recommend Lou.

    Response from Lou:

There is an excellent heating unit in the room and if they had told me they were cold, I would have just told them to use it. If ever any one is uncomfortable, just let me know and i'll do my best to make everything all right!-Thanks, Lou

  • Lou is very hospitable. Extremely nice and very laid back. He did everything to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We had a clean bedroom and bathroom and thats all we could have asked for. He is above a bar but we really made the most of that and enjoyed a few drinks there before bed. Thanks a lot Lou!

  • We stay at Lou appartement for the New Year's week. The place is very well located, in a good neighborhood. It's not a four stars Hotel, but it's enough to have a place to sleep in NY!
Lou is very kind and accomodating.
Despite the fact that we were aware of possible sound nuisance from the Don Pedro, we experience some noise disturbancies almost every night (Certainly because of the New Year's week). It wasn't a big deal (we were too tired after a day of visit ^^), and we recommand Lou appartement for a good trip in NY

  • New York City is awesome, Lou is very sympatic and welcoming! I highly recommend!

  • Lou is a very nice person and he is very helpful in that he immediately takes action on requests. Communication before, during and after the visit was perfect. We were late on the day of arrival but he is very flexible, which helps a lot. His appartment is situated in a very nice neighbourhood. Access to the public transport system is perfect. The area has very nice places to go out as well.
The room itself is modest; persons looking for a 4-star hotelroom should look elsewhere. The price for the appartment is very reasonable, especially in comparison with other appartments and in particular, hotels. I would strongly recommend staying with Lou.

  • Lou was a fantastic host I would recommend him to anyone!!

  • Lou was fantastic, we had a late arrival and Lou was very helpful in getting us checked in. Room was clean, small but I was prepared for that and it served its purpose, a place to sleep. As earlier posts mentioned the noise from the bar does filter into the room but I was so tired it didn't matter. J Train is an easy, and I felt safe walk (2 blocks) and two stops to Manhattan... Will stay again on my next trip to NYC!! Thanks Lou!!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Lou's room, the only thing is that we didn't know that we had to share the bathroom, but it was OK, everything was very clean and neat, it's a very good quality/price ratio, we recommend it.
