I had the best vacation ever staying in Paige and Grants suite in Strathcona. Everything is as described and Paige and Grant were the coolest hosts, they even took us out for a drink in the nearby trendy area of Main Street and answered all our annoying questions! I loved the interior of the suite, recycled wood and retro furniture, completely redone by Paige and Grant themselves. The place was quiet and relaxed, beds comfortable and surprisingly bright for a suite. Definitely worth staying with its proximity to downtown for both business and vacation seeker.
Paige and Grant were both very welcoming with their space. The check in and out process was super simple and very accommodating with travel arrangements. We had 3 girls and the space was the perfect size and had everything you would need for a stay. Would definitely recommend the suite to another person looking to stay in Vancouver.
The place was wonderfully clean and easily accessible by bus and the area is very pleasant. We enjoyed being able to spread out a bit as there are enough space. Paige was very polite and other than the key swap we were left to our own devices.
I would say the only thing that was a little of an issue for me was hearing footsteps above our heads. During the day not an issue but it was disturbing when it occurred at 12 at night. It sort of sounded like furniture was being moved. So light sleepers beware. But other than that- worth booking.
Paige and Grant were wonderful hosts. They had prepared a list of their favorite local places, explained everything there is to know and always answered any questions we had. Their 2 bedroom flat is lovely and clean, just like in the photos, and it's situated in a beautiful little neighborhood. There's a perfect coffee shop just 30 seconds away that looks out onto a little park that has groceries as well. The flat was a great place to come "home" to after a day of exploring the city. We would definitely stay here again!
Paige & Grant have created a lovely, comfortable and welcoming apartment. It is light and airy, you don't even think about it being a basement apartment. We were made to feel welcome when we got there, and the coffee & fruit were a pleasant surprise. The kitchen had everything necessary for any length stay, and the heated floor in the bathroom is wonderful.
The location is perfect for walkers. We were able to explore Chinatown, Gastown and downtown without having to drive or take the bus. Getting there via car was a breeze. The neighborhood is quiet, people are friendly, though there is a major street a few blocks away so we did hear sirens (to be expected in any large city). There are a number of tourist brochures, and Paige & Grant have also created a map with showing their favorite places/restaurants/shops in the area, which was quite handy.
All in all it was a very pleasant & comfortable stay and we were made to feel very welcome.
Mooi appartement in een sfeervolle wijk. Bomen volop in bloesem.
Aanbevelingswaardig!
Paige and Grant were able to accept us with less than 24 hours notice for a two night stay. The suite is exactly as represented in the pictures, was very tidy and spacious for two of us. We didn't meet Paige, but Grant was very friendly and available if needed during the stay.
The neighbourhood was nice, with ample free street parking and nearby shops and amenities. Although close to the downtown east side, we never felt it.
We went to a concert at Rogers Arena to which we opted to take a cab, but could have walked if we had more time. Didn't get to try many of the places on their map, but Wilder Snail was a good spot for lunch, and I most definitely recommend going to Yolks for spectacular eggs Benny!
About the Host, Paige And Grant
Grant and I met ten years ago when we were both young tree planters. We moved to Vancouver 8 years ago and fell in love with Strathcona. I am a carpenter and Grant is a photographer. We have travelled all over the world, both together and apart and so know the value of a great place to stay. We are excited to now be able to host other travellers and can't wait for you to experience this beautiful city.
