A lovely home with a nice kitchen and a big bathtub. The house is great for those with or without a car as it's a short walk (.2m) from downtown and the Brattleboro Amtrak train station.
A beautifully updated two-story home with modern kitchen, and gorgeous bathroom with a nice big tub along with full shower. The house is tucked away on a private street with only two other homes, and trees outside of every window. This is the perfect place for those with or without a car as it's a short walk from downtown and the train station.
The house is great for a family or just a quiet solo get-away. This particular listing is for the entire home, but feel free to contact me if you just need a private room. We're happy to share for a discounted price if we're around.
Once you've arrived, spend time inside in this artistically decorated space, or out on the screened in porch and deck. A few minutes walk from downtown Brattleboro shops, restaurants, theaters, and the top notch food co-op. Hiking and skiing options are available nearby. I recommend (website hidden) searching for the best trails.
There is one bathroom on each of the floors for your convenience. One bedroom is smaller with a full size bed and lots of book placed next to the full bath. The other bedroom is much larger with an antique queen sized bed. We will do our best to accommodate with extra airbeds for larger groups when possible. Do keep in mind there is a futon on the screened in porch, for those who like fresh air sleeping.
There are no down pillows or comforters used in this home in case of allergies. No cats allowed due to a severe allergy of a family member, but we are willing to discuss well behaved dogs, because we have one ourselves.
Feel free to write me with any questions you may have. I always do my best to reply promptly!
Please forgive the limited amount of pictures. If you need specific photos I will be happy to try and provide them.
The entire lower level of the home, and the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.
Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to answer questions and such during your stay, but in general I'm hands off. Depending on longer stays I might have to come by and check my mail or grab something from storage, but I always call or message first.
In downtown Brattleboro (which is only a few minutes walk away) are adorable shops, restaurants, theaters, and the top notch food co-op. Hiking and skiing options are available nearby. I recommend (website hidden) searching for the best trails.
Amtrak station is right downtown (a .2 mile walk from the house.) There is also a local bus system.
Other Things to Note
There is no other Airbnb rental in Brattleboro closer to town, so you'll really be in the middle of it all!
When you make your reservation a house manual will be sent to you with directions about the place. But the most important things to know are:
1. No Cats or smoking inside
2. If anything breaks please let us know
3. Read the "HOUSE MANUAL" that was sent to you with your reservation. Should give you the basics of everything you need for your stay.
4. Tidy up and lock up when leaving
5. Remember that this is a family home, not a business, so please try to treat the owners and space with love and respect.
6. Do yourself a favor and make time to take a bath.
Zara's place was a wonderful home away from home. With decor from every decade, it truly is a lovely house to stay in. Also, do as she says and make time to take a bath!
Zara's house was very comfortable and has a nice view! Unfortunately, we didnt meet Zara; she is a more handsoff host. The lake view at the back of the house is great.
A most welcomed cozy home retreat in Brattleboro. Perfect close location to the main town street. Home has the lovely feel of an artist, great collection of books, and furnishing touches. Zara was very good at communication and explaining how everything worked.
Zara's home was lovely and inviting with enviable style. The welcome message on the chalk board was such a warm touch. We enjoyed being in the center of Brattleboro while still having views of nature. We can only hope all our Airbnb experiences will be as good as this!
Everything went very well at the house, very clean and private, plenty of parking. The house is so close to town we were happy to walk to restaurants and stores.
Zara's home is a perfect blend of clean convenience and quirky personality. It feels every bit a home (not a sparse vacation home or generic hotel), but it's the home of an experienced host. We found towels aplenty, a deck with a woodsy-rivery view, comfy beds, free space in the fridge, and umbrellas by the door when an unexpected downpour hit.
The space is homey, comfortable, quiet, and clean. The location is ideal (steps from the bars and shops of downtown, but on a private street with a river view), and the house is cozy, beautiful, and spacious. Zara is a responsive, welcoming, accommodating host.
We couldn't have asked for a better vacation getaway.
Zara's home was cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor deck and being able to walk to the Main St for supplies. The Coop grocery store was brilliant. Zara was very helpful at answering queries.
A working musician and nice gal who you could certainly trust in your home. Before turning to music full time, I was a professional house & pet sitter, so I have lots of experience in taking care of homes, and treating spaces and hosts with the utmost respect. I have lived in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Northampton, MA, and now reside in Brattleboro, VT.
I look forward to meeting new friends, and fellow travelers.
