{The Abbey}
Built in 1146, San Giusto is a medieval cistercian monastery located in a beautiful pristine valley, in Lazio (the region of Rome), 4 km outside the town of Tuscania, in an area called ancient Etruria, or Tuscia Viterbese, a hidden jem in rural central Italy, one hour north of Rome.
The building has been restored for the last 20 years by the owners, who now love to share it with lovers of art and nature. All around, fields of lavender, pastures for donkeys and horses.

You must have a car to get there: we are in an area where public transportation is not-existant, plus the abbey is 4 km far from the nearest town.

{The Medieval Tower}
Our most popular apartment, rightly so: sleeping in a medieval tower is a dream and an unforgettable experience.
The tower has been recently restored and decorated in respect of the beauty and austerity of a 12th century building: medieval charm and modern comfort.
The apartment has 4 floors: living room with a kitchen, 2 bedrooms (each with a bathroom) on the upper floors and a panoramic breathtaking terrace on the magnificent valley. Outside, a patio and a dedicated private area.
As a guest, you will experience a relaxed but attentive service in the extraordinary scenery of the tower, enjoying simple and understated luxury; the bedding and other amenities are of the highest quality, breakfast is homemade, prepared using seasonal local and organic ingredients.

Please keep in mind that the tower has many stairs to climb. Stairs are quite steep and can be dangerous for small kids.
On request, in one bedroom the double bed can be separated in two single beds.

Arrangements may be made for dinner -- prix fixe from 40.00 € (advance booking required).

- It is important to have a car to get there and explore the area. The nearest town, Tuscania, is distant 4 km.
- Keep in mind that this is a tower with 4 floors therefore you will climb a lot of stairs.
- Guests have access to the apartment that they will choose, each with a garden area, internet connection.
- You can absolutely walk around and explore the abbey, the gardens and the fields of the property. We want you to feel at home.
- We have three dogs around the property, normally around the owners. They are really nice, polite and really used to people, and they occasionally bark as a greeting. In the property, in the farming area live donkeys and horses, that our guests love.
- Note that guest rooms do not have televisions or telephones.
- Event Location: The property and the building can be used as a location for smaller and bigger events like weddings and parties.
- Film and photography location: the Abbey is available for film or print shoots.

The Abbey is located in the Valley of river Marta, just outside the small town of Tuscania, in the heart of the ancient Etruscan territory, or Tuscia Viterbese, a magnificent yet not touristy area: a few km away you can find beautiful beaches, Bolsena Lake, Etruscan treasures (Cerveteri, Tarquinia and many necropolis), medieval towns (Bagnoregio, Viterbo, Pitigliano), Renaissance jems (Villa Lante in Bagnaia, The Monsters park in Bomarzo).
We are just between Tuscany and Rome, and many of our guests stop in San Giusto while exploring from Tuscany towars Rome or viceversa. Fiumicino Rome Airport is just one hour drive from our home.
