Why would someone say light cooking? Home prepped meals really warms up the house and it's encouraged.
Interaction with Guests
It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.
We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout. Remember that work, musical instruments and books take precedence over the television.
Located in the heart of Haight! The location is ideal in terms of walkability. So close to everything that you most likely won't even need a bicycle.
1 block from Buena Vista Park
0.7 miles to Painted Ladies
3 miles to Caltrain
0.2 miles to Haight and Divisadero: which connects you to the major bus lines (6, 24, 71, N owl).

Other Things to Note
More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.
Respectful Housing for Women
Females in a separate room. If you'd like to stay in the girls' room, please check with me on availability before reserving. If you don't have a preference, then just make your reservation.
The Airbnb cleaning fee is to make sure you have a clean bed upon arrival and not to clean up after you. All spaces are shared, so please be mindful of picking up after yourself. If you're a longer term guest, remember to use one bath towel and wash it with your own load of laundry.

3 out of the 4 bedrooms have a balcony and I urge you to enjoy the view. However, I prefer a quiet group at this house as it's a peaceful environment.
Vic was an excellent host and the hacker home is a great place to stay and make friends in San Francisco.
Coming to this HackerHome for my first week in SF is probably the best choice I could have made. I met a bunch of wonderful people and enjoyed every minute here.
I had a great time and am so happy I'm moving into an appartment close by.
Vic was such a wonderful host! The very day I arrived from the airport, exhausted and toting bags, he helped welcome me to the house with great warmth. We chatted, and when he learnt I had to head back downtown for a meeting, eagerly offered me a ride in his own personal car, saving me a bit of more headaches as I settled into my city-for-the-week. EVERY person staying at the Hacker House Broderick St was amazing. Great energy, great talent, and such an inspiration to be with these young people. Though I'm not a tech-hacker per se (rather a biomedical research scientist) I still made some great connections that I will value. Thanks for everything---see you again soon!
Vic was great!! The house is beautiful. I had such an amazing experience, and made lifelong friends through staying in this house.... Also, the balcony view is fantastic! You can't beat it.
Great place to stay! The location is very central, you get from there everywhere very quickly via the local public transportation. The apartment is very clean and chilled with tons of nice little niches to read or work and the people there are a lovely bunch you are to going to want to hang out with! Living in the Haights is an experience one doesn't want to miss. You sleep in bunk beds, but everybody is very considerate to not disturb the others. Strongly recommended!
This was a cool place to stay, very chilled out and friendly. The apartment is super clean, has great views of the city and is close to a bunch of nice places to eat and drink. Recommended!
