One double room and a smaller single room in a family house in the town close to all restaurants, pubs, hotels and 5 minutes walk to parkland at the Necarne Estate. 15 minutes drive to Enniskillen
Our rooms are in a large family house in the centre of Irvinestown. There is one double room and a smaller single room. This will comfortably allow 3 people to stay as long as two share the double bed. Irvinestown is a small town with a big welcoming heart known for its craic and just 9 miles from Enniskillen. Come here to experience a true Irish welcome and get close to the beautiful scenery and sights of Fermanagh and Ulster. Irvinestown is small town Ireland at its best with friendly service at all the restaurants, hotels and bars in the town. All of these are slap bang on the doorstep and if you need to blow the cobwebs out of your head the Necarne Estate is 5 minutes walk away with fantastic views across the lough to Benaughlin and Cuilcagh mountains.
We have a yard to the back of the house for off street parking with a garden and barbecue area. If you want to travel a little way Fermanagh has a wealth of country houses to visit. Castle Coole, Crom Castle, Florencecourt are within easy reach. The dramatic castles at Tully and Monea are all within 25 minutes drive away. There are dramatic views at Aghamullen and the Cliffs of Magho where you get a real feel for the unique Fermanagh countryside. The county town Enniskillen with its vibrant nightlife and excellent bars and restaurants is just 15 minutes drive. Beyond Fermanagh and within easy reach is the Donegal coast with its unspoiled beached and dramatic coastal scenery and giant cliffs at Slieve League and the north coast with Giants Causeway and Bushmills distillery.
Guests have access to the double room and the single room as well as the kitchen and use of the fridge. Access to the whole of the house is obviously shared as my family of 4 and sometimes 5 of us are about so guests will need to appreciate that we are in the house too. There is internet access downstairs in the kitchen but there is no internet access upstairs. There are two bathrooms one has a shower and the other a bath. If guests prefer we can arrange for them to have sole use of the shower room. They can have access to the other bathroom but this is shared with the family.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy to chat and talk with guests as much as they wish to. Usually we are at work and our children at school so most of the time we are out of the house. Guests will have access to the house when we are not there. We also have a small dog a miniature schnauzer called Ziggy. We can provide transport to and from the main bus services out of Enniskillen if guests need this.
We want our guests to have a good time when they visit but we also expect you to be respectful of us and to realise that we have children and both work during the day
Once again David and Karen (and Ziggy) made us extremely welcome and provided a really comfortable and friendly atmosphere; David dropped us off at the station on the Sunday and once again David and Karen provided a fantastic cooked breakfast; great location, perfect home highly recommended
David & Karen are exemplary hosts - David collected us from the coach station & Karen dropped us off there at the conclusion of our stay, completely genuine and engaging couple, fantastic sprawling house in the centre of town, very large bedroom and extremely comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast given - they even grilled haloumi for my veggie partner! We are looking forward to staying again in the summer! Highly recommended and Ziggy (the dog) is a joy!
I'm a father of 3 children (2 at home and 1 flown the nest) living with my partner and wife Karen, in Irvinestown. I enjoy music, playing tennis, painting, cooking and writing and feel lucky to be living in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Our house is quite big and we enjoy having guests. We have listed a double room and a single room but we have more room if people need it. Irvinestown is a great town with lost of things going on. Fermanagh has the most beautiful country houses. Castle Coole, Crom Castle, Florencecourt, Castle Archdale as well as Tully and Monea Castle along with a massive lough and access to the deserted beaches of Donegal in just under an hour. There are lots of things to do here if you like walking and exploring and are willing to drive just a little way.
