Interaction with Guests
My property manager Adina tries makes it possible for guests to be as self sufficient as they would like, but she and her team are always available for special requests. We try to have someone check in guests within reasonable arrival times, but there is always a lockbox as backup.
We ask that you respect our home in a couple of ways:
-Try to keep your shoes off within the apartment.
-During the summer please limit use of ACs as much as possible. PLEASE never leave the AC on while you're out during the day - especially not with the door open!!!
-Please recycle according to instructions provided.
-Please lock all the doors whether you're home or out.
We rented David's entire brownstone (main apartment + separate upstairs apartment) for my immediately family and their kids to stay in for our Brooklyn wedding. We live 2 blocks away, so we knew the neighborhood (and love it) and wanted them to be close. David's place fit the bill - it's huge, very well remodeled, has a lovely back yard, and was very reasonably priced especially for the number of people we had staying there (13 adults and 3 kids). The kitchens were both well stocked, the entire place was very clean, the amenities are great (although only 2 showers was a challenge, but we knew that going in - you can't have everything!). Having a washer and dryer was especially nice with the kids making messes. Also, the self-check in process was easy for us; sometimes trying to connect with a host can be complicated, so it was nice to just know that when we got there we would be able to get in without that hassle.
Overall, we were happy with the experience, but there were a few things family members complained about consistently: 1) noise travels through the main house, which is an issue if you have a lot of people; 2) ALL of the guests complained about their respective beds/futons, saying they were very uncomfortable; and 3) there were only ~ 7 towels even though David knew there were going to be at least 15 people. If we had at least been told about the towels, we could have provided for it, but as it was we were caught off guard.
David was responsive by text/email and made sure somebody was at the house for our late arrival. The place was very clean and nice.
Lots of space and a beautiful yard; much bigger and better than I was able to gather from the online photos/description. The neighborhood is definitely up and coming with lots of neighborly dining places, like Franny's, only a short walk from the house. Even though an elevated train line runs nearby, it was not a noise disturbance. In summary, we had a great time and would definitely consider coming back in the future.
Our stay was incredible! The host was there as scheduled and welcomed us with smiles, hospitality, and a quick tour. Everything was exactly as described. It was perfectly cleaned and ready for us. The location is amazing. Just a few blocks from the A & C subway.. plus it's just a few blocks from amazing food and bars.
Our team of 8 had plenty of room, and will definitely stay here again!
Well, we had a good-sized party so we rented out the whole place. It was fantastic. Everything was clean and new. The garden is unbelievable. Also, loved the neighborhood, especially Franklin Ave. We ate at Berg'n almost every day. Sooooo good. Thanks David!
We rented the four story garden pagoda for one week in the end of September. Our family gathered together in NY from different parts of the world to attend a family wedding. Our host was very friendly and diligent. Jessica who managed the rental was always available, extremely pleasant and looked out for us. We felt very welcome and had a very pleasant experience. The neighborhood is friendly, and easy to navigate. There are grocery stores and places to eat close by and transportation is easily accessible. We even found parking on the street every night for the car we rented. The house is really beautiful especially inside and the pictures are very truthful. The garden backyard was a plus. Both four and two bedroom units were very comfortable, cozy and nice. We would stay there again. It didn't bother us much at all, but one thing we would like to point out is that there is a train track that passes nearby (overhead), not too far from the building. It didn't bother us much, but the train is certainly audible when it commutes past the house. Other than that, the place is really beautiful, the hosts are very attentive and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Our overall experience has been excellent from the time I booked the apartment till the end of staying. I received periodic update as well as timely reminder as it gets closer. Jessica was extremely helpful to coordinate and resolve the double booking situation I ran into because She not only offered alternative housing option but also worked closely and with both parties for resolution. Service was awesome.
Both units were spacious and clean and we truly enjoyed it during our stay. We'll definitely consider booking these units for future trips.
