ERIE SHORE B&B ABOVE THE SEA
This charming 2 bedroom cottage is located on the shores of Lake Erie, in Erie, PA. It resides in the quaint residential neighborhood of Eaglehurst, secluded from touristy, high traffic areas, but in walking distance to pubs, eateries, a roller skating rink... and the awesome Waldameer water and amusement park.
You will have access to the neighborhood beach, just a 1 minute walk from the cottage... as well as a 5 minute drive to the beaches, hiking trails, boating, and fishing on Presque Isle peninsula.
Available is your own large bedroom with 2 queen beds and a private bath, plus the parlor, kitchen, sitting room, yard, and deck. The queen airbeds are new, self-inflating, squeaky clean... and you can adjust the firmness or softness of each mattress to your liking with the touch of a button, making them quite comfortable...as well as being able to adjust the temperature of each side of each bed independently... again, with the touch of a button.
Your room INCLUDES a full course BREAKFAST and a boxed LUNCH daily for each guest. We strive to serve the freshest and healthiest foods that include eggs, meats, fruits, juices, breads, coffees and teas.
The parlor, with its beautiful knotty pine ceiling is large, airy and open, with great light for reading, working, or relaxing. There you will find the warm fireplace, a bistro table/chairs, TV, DVD player and wireless internet...and a sofa bed that's yours to enjoy, to watch TV in bed…even overnight. Some of our guests greatly appreciate having the parlor after hours for themselves for tv, talking, reading, etc, while the kids are tucked away in their bedroom... something you cant do at the motel.
(If you like, you can go to the red box web site, find your top 5 titles, let us know what they are, and if available, we will have them waiting for you in the parlor, 1 for each night of your stay.)
Diane and Lee will be your hosts from Fridays to Mondays, unless special arrangements are made for a mid week stay. (Monday-Thursday nights are considered mid-week, and if available, prices may be higher). Mondays (early checkout) and Thursdays are available more around holiday weekends.
Due to early Monday morning checkouts at 9 am, Sunday night stays are slightly discounted. In most cases, there is a 2 night minimum for singles and doubles. Inquire within to see if your intended dates apply.
We have extended our "grand opening" pricing now through April 30, 2014. Inquire about multiple nights and multiple persons, as the rates for such are discounted. Also, we currently offer a special rate for families with up to 2 children under 13.
We accept small CRATED dogs along with a pet fee of $15.
We can accommodate your car and boat or trailer with off street parking. You will be very comfortable in our home and in our neighborhood.
Highly recommended on the basis of value and the congeniality of the hosts. Lee and Diane provided everything, including made to order breakfast and lunch both days as well as intelligent and fun conversation without being intrusive. Remarkable how easy it was to slide right into their home yet still have a sense of appropriate boundaries. I was initially concerned about the non-traditional bed (airbed) but once I got it adjusted to my preferred hardness and cranked up the two bed-warmers I slept like a lamb. The louvered doors and close proximity to each other might have been a bit awkward if the hosts were not so quiet, respectful and generous, but they are, so I loved being there.
I found Lee to be a very accommodating host. He provided breakfasts and lunch, and snacks in between. The house is charming, apparently built in the 20s and well maintained. All in all, a good experience.
My Fiance and I had a very nice visit. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was yummy and we loved the fact we got to choose our meal. Will visit again!!
Great place, a stone's throw from the lake! Beautiful sunsets. Lee and Diane were great and thoughtful hosts, they even packed us some snacks to take with us for the drive home. If you are in the Erie, PA area I would highly recommend staying with them.
Diane and Lee couldn't have been more pleasant and friendly as we planned our trip to Erie! You will find that they go out of their way to accommodate your needs and even your wants as they work with you to plan your stay!
This was the first time we've used Airbnb and so I was a bit nervous and not sure what to expect (even though Diane and Lee were very quick to respond to my questions beforehand). All of my concerns were put to rest after meeting Lee and seeing his and Diane's lovely home which they were so gracious as to share with us.
We are sorry we didn't get to meet Diane on this trip, however, Lee was great. He was so interesting, gracious and accommodating. He was such a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome and at home. He was also very knowledgeable about the area. Our breakfasts and boxed lunches were such a wonderful treat, and we were even given snacks! We felt so pampered.
The location was perfect for myself, my husband and our son. Diane and Lee's home is in a wonderfully quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood. Yet we were just a very short walk from the beach, and very close to Presque Isle park and Waldameer.
Diane and Lee's home was spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed being able to relax in the parlor, especially since we were traveling with our son, which allowed us to put him to bed on time yet we could stay up and read or talk - a luxury we would not have had at a hotel!
All that we really have left to say after our blissfully relaxing long weekend is a huge thank you to Diane and Lee - everything was just wonderful and even more than we'd hoped for. We would go back in an instant, at any time of year, and are hoping we can make a return trip.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
