Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.
We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.
We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.
The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God.
However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants.
Great host and fantastic views. A bit of a climb to get to the house, but if you are prepared for that it is a truly beautiful place. We had one night without a fan, which meant it was very hot.
A book could be written about our stay at Pasquale's incredible home. The view is priceless from your room and the eating area. Breakfast is amazing and half the buffet is straight from their garden. His hospitality is more than generous and he is almost always available to help in any way. Everyone there is kind and putting your needs above anything.
Do not leave his place without having the dinner they make every few nights. Most delicious and authentic meal we've had in Italy. Be sure to purchase more homemade liquors for traveling. They're the best you'll find anywhere.
Within walking distance to the path of the gods foot and can take buses back. Be sure to tell drivers where you need to go. They won't stop if you don't let them know and ring the bell.
Try not to arrive to late because navigation is very difficult at night and bus will be past positano before you know it. It's very expensive to get back there late at night from towns far away.
Most recommended place we've seen or experienced. If you're going to amalfi, stay here for no less than 3-4 nights. Will hope to return for a long stay in such a great place.
We stayed 2 nights in Colle dell'ara and we wish we would have stayed longer. To start, the bus ride to Montepertuso is an experience in itself, and it was a little tricky finding the place as you have to ring a call button at the bus stop. Shortly after, Pasquale greeted us with a warm welcome, led us up the hill to the house (3min walk - bags go up via pulley lift system) gave us a tour of the incredible property, and even carried our bags from the lift to the room.
Our room was on the top floor and was as it appeared in the pictures. The bedroom led out onto a massive balcony which is shared by the other four rooms on the top floor. I was in complete awe walking out onto the balcony for the first time. The views and the serenity are otherworldly and frankly indescribable!
As far as the rest of the stay, the food is some of the best I've ever tasted. The breakfast has plenty of options and everything is made completely fresh. We did partake in the multi-course 'family' style dinner that Pasquale and Matt provided for us, which I HIGHLY recommend. You do have to pay extra for it but it was hands down our favorite part of our entire 10 day trip all over Italy. The food was incredible but even better was the experience shared amongst our fellow travelers and hosts. I will remember the stories and laughs forever.
If you are a traveler who enjoys an unmatched experience look no further, Colle dell'ara is as good as it gets!
Incredible B&B and highly recommended. Pasquale is one of the nicest hosts imaginable and is truly there to make your stay perfect. His home is set high in the hills, which offers a beautiful view and is well worth the hike up. The bus is a cheap and convenient way to get to and from the beach, and the walk down is enjoyable as well (and there is a convenient and delicious local grocery/deli on the way).
Right from the booking , pick up service and till the checkout, every one at Colle dell'ara was very helpful. The location of the property is very scenic. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay here. We wish to go back again sometime.
Pasquale, his brother and father were really welcoming and helpful. It is exactly as described and was a wonderful (website hidden): the breakfast was amazing.
Our stay was perfect from start to finish. Pasquale, his brother and father were the perfect hosts and were more than happy to help with whatever we needed. The view from our room was spectacular! We had their prepared meal on our first night and it has been a highlight of our trip so far- absolutely perfect! Will be staying again on a return trip to Positano!
