Over here is East West Asheville, we are sittin' pretty up on the hill above the River Arts District and Funky and Fun West Asheville right up the street. Its a lovely young neighborhood with mostly new homes.
Private entrance, Private space, with Sitting area, 1 Bedroom area, 1 Bath, Porch. Walk to Great restaurants or the River Arts District, Bike to downtown. Centrally located to all of Asheville.
Walk to yoga studios, Excellent restaurants, such as The Admiral or 12 Bones, Sunny Point, (the Top 3 on Yelp), Famous Harvest Records, The Wedge Brewing Co., Grey Eagle Music Hall and Battle Cat Coffe. WALK (West Asheville Lounge and Kitchen) less than half a mile walk down the street.
If you bring your bike you can zip down to the river district for mostly flat rides and get to Biltmore Village, out to Swannanoa, Black Mountain, up the river toward Madison County. Bikes can also easily be rented in town too, heck you can just walk to a bike store and rent one. Earth Fare (healthy living food store), is just around the corner. Monroe's apartment was beautiful and perfect for a long weekend trip to Asheville. I couldn't have asked for a better first airbnb experience!
Great (email hidden)eat host.Really really helpful!!Would love to come back to this home
Monroe is a great host, communication is fast and easy.
The space was even better than on the pictures, lots of natural light, a high ceiling and a very nice balcony overlooking the street and nice backdrop.
His cat also made us feel welcome.
We would certainly stay here again.
It was the first time my fella and I spent time in Asheville, NC and Monroe was an excellent airbnb host. Communication was very easy and pleasant and his artist studio was the perfect home base for our 4-day getaway. The space feels bigger than appears in the pictures, very nicely decorated with great natural light and a super comfortable bed. The neighborhood is quiet with just the birds chirping about. You can spend a lovely evening on the little balcony trying to figure out all the different bird calls which us New York City kids thoroughly enjoyed. It is within walking distance to West Asheville’s Haywood Road where we found several great restaurants (The Admiral, Sunny Point Café, Biscuit Head), coffee shops (Battle Cat Coffeebar) and music establishments (Harvest Records, The Mothlight, Isis Restaurant and Music Hall). You’ll also be really close to the River Arts District with very cool artist studios open to the public during the day and Wedge Brewery ready to quench your local beer thirst in the afternoon. If you’re driving, parking is fairly easy and the studio includes a spot. You can get on the Blue Ridge Parkway for some incredible views or drive to one of the nearby hikes (we did Dupont Forest and got to take in 4 of the 5 nearby waterfalls). Monroe has a website set up with these and more brilliant recommendations. The city is really bike-friendly, too. We definitely recommend staying in Monroe’s West Asheville studio - I’m pretty sure you’ll love it and Asheville as much as we did.
This was our first AirBnB experience and it was flawless. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit. The location was great. The studio is cozy without feeling claustrophobic and gets lots of natural sunlight. The streaming Netflix was a nice treat, allowing us to binge-watch some TV shows on the day it rained. Each morning when we opened the drapes, Blu the resident cat, was perched on our doorstep to greet us and accept some chin rubs.
We are return visitors. Monroe is a great host, from the coffee/french press to the host kitty greeter, Blu. Convenient location to downtown and West Asheville. Enjoyed our stay.
Our experience was great! Because of our travel plans we didn't arrive until around midnight, but had no problem getting access to the space. It's a great little drive up the hill and sits nicely between the west asheville area while still being able to get to downtown fairly easily. Comfy bed and the French press was nice the next morning. Thanks again!
